  1. We are booked in a forward mini suite on the Caribe Deck. It's fully covered. The same room on the Baja deck also fully covered is available. Will keep the Caribe deck mini if the balcony is larger. Like Baja as only 2 flights of stairs to get to Lido. Any info? About to re-fare and trying to decide.
  2. "Ship Show", Love it. Glad we got off. Our only concern was that we hate the lines at YVR, but got lucky and there were none. Enjoy your last day!
  3. Our 40 day adventure has come to a close. We will be getting off here and flying back to Long Beach to spend time with our grandchildren. It was nice meeting you Raphael and Debbie and we look forward to seeing you again in Singapore. We will be arriving on the 10th. We might not qualify for the MTG luncheon but bartenders nominated me for the MTBS award ( Most Time on a Barstool ). They said they might even have my name engraved on it. It's been a fun trip. Looking forward to October. Aloha! Tim and Suzanne
  4. Chilean Sea Bass, my favorite. Broke a tooth taking a bite of Suzanne’s filet last time. Good thing you don’t have to worry about that.
  5. Went to Harmony last night. The food was so-so. Service was awesome. Don't think I'd repeat as for the price, Crown or Rudy are so much better. Rolling this am and just hoping sun comes out. Day 38 for us, time to start some SLOW packing as we get off in Vancouver on day 40.
  6. This cruise is 40 days😀 They have plenty shoyu onboard. I had a baked Cod over Chorizo the other night and I'm going to make the Cod with Portuguese Sausage when I get home.
  7. My duck noodle soup tonite was ono. It's just putting a cup of my duck into a bowl of soup. Nothing different from someone bringing something from the buffet to have put into their soup which I've seen. I've brought cans of spam ( gotta love spam, eggs and rice) and have asked the buffet line to cook half for me and they get the rest. They've been more than happy to do it. I always give them an extra can for later.
  8. Bringing food ON board isn't a problem. I've gotten roast duck at 3 stops and take a cup up to the noodle bar and they make me Duck Noodle Soup.
  9. Doing 18kts on a NE heading with a 20kt East wind. I'd say it's a little windy out there.😀
  10. We were in group 2,even though they didn't call any groups, and were off pretty quick and in a Uber home. Tree trimmer got there before us but it was a very productive day.
  11. I forgot about immigration in Honolulu and have a bunch of appointments in the morning at home. Went to GS this am and they were able to get me a slot in the first group off at 0715. They said letters would be coming tonight about times to clear. Now just hope I can take my Wife’s FULL bag of Grandkids “stuff” off to ship to them back in Long Beach”.
  12. Just think, they could give you double Effy sales or Art auction flyers on regular paper for the cost of the fancy one😃
  13. Crossed the Equator at 3am. Today is the Crossing the Equator Ceremony. Was told they’re thawing out the fish IMG_3113.mov Didn’t get chosen! A few folks dropped out after seeing a few of my videos from the Crown last year.
  14. We just did a tour to Hobbiton last week with the company I'll list below. They had 4 tickets left on the morning of the tour that got grabbed at the port. I booked WAY in advanced. They will not accept cruiseship tours. I had it booked through Princess and it was cancelled so I booked this company. Very good tour, even though I've never read or seen any of the books.
  15. Last year on the Crown Lax-Lax, Moorea was ground zero for a nasty bronchial infection. Might be the humid air, I have no idea. Was doing my regular laps today and it will be my last time going through the Hollywood Conservatory. Deep coughing and it wasn't just the chorine air, starting to sound like seals barking. Unfortunately people don't care, they will do what they want regardless if feeling sick or not. Here we go.
  16. Fun to snorkel with the rays and sharks. We tendered into the Papetoei tender pier. We rented a small boat for the 2 of us. You need a license to rent anything with over a 5hp motor. Slow ride, but loved every minute
  17. Last year when we were here you could only exit the dock area by walking to the left along the dock to a small park area. This year you can exit to the right directly to the street. If you go to the left you'll run into people selling all types of tours, both for Papeete and for Moorea. This area is also where the food trucks are at night.
  18. Turned the balcony table upside down and used Duct tape and bungee cords to secure. It would've taken the whole table with it if a gust that strong came along.Zoom in on the picture and you can see how it was attached We only opened then when we were out there. Never an issue. Again, I doubt you'd be able to do what I did but I can't see why you couldn't bring your own collapsible umbrella onboard.
  19. This was 10yrs ago on the Island Princess. Turned our non covered balcony into a covered one. Only used them when we out there. Doubt you could use them on the balcony today. Gave them to our room steward. They collapesed down nicely and we checked them in when boarding.
