  1. Last year on the Crown Lax-Lax, Moorea was ground zero for a nasty bronchial infection. Might be the humid air, I have no idea. Was doing my regular laps today and it will be my last time going through the Hollywood Conservatory. Deep coughing and it wasn't just the chorine air, starting to sound like seals barking. Unfortunately people don't care, they will do what they want regardless if feeling sick or not. Here we go.
  2. Fun to snorkel with the rays and sharks. We tendered into the Papetoei tender pier. We rented a small boat for the 2 of us. You need a license to rent anything with over a 5hp motor. Slow ride, but loved every minute
  3. Last year when we were here you could only exit the dock area by walking to the left along the dock to a small park area. This year you can exit to the right directly to the street. If you go to the left you'll run into people selling all types of tours, both for Papeete and for Moorea. This area is also where the food trucks are at night.
  4. Turned the balcony table upside down and used Duct tape and bungee cords to secure. It would've taken the whole table with it if a gust that strong came along.Zoom in on the picture and you can see how it was attached We only opened then when we were out there. Never an issue. Again, I doubt you'd be able to do what I did but I can't see why you couldn't bring your own collapsible umbrella onboard.
  5. This was 10yrs ago on the Island Princess. Turned our non covered balcony into a covered one. Only used them when we out there. Doubt you could use them on the balcony today. Gave them to our room steward. They collapesed down nicely and we checked them in when boarding.
  6. We were supposed to be there on "Lei Day" but due to port congestion Honolulu got moved to the 2nd and we got Moorea instead of Kona.
  7. I booked the Penguin Experience at Sea Life Kelly Tarlton's Aquarium in Auckland last June. It sells out as they only allow 4 people to participate 3 days a week. Awesome experience. I used to tell my Mom, "I've been to 6 continents and you've only been to 5." So she planned a trip to South America and actually was able to land on Antartica and walk around in penguin poop. I don't think I'll make it to Antartica, but I've gotten to walk around in penguin poop. Very inquisitive little guys
  8. Not a peep on the Majestic right now. Just wish people would realize that letting their door slam does affect other rooms.
  9. Pride is in Kahului 2 days a week. The cruise we are presently on moved our HNL stop from May 1st to the 2nd due to "port congestion". We had Moorea substituted for Kona. We are scheduled for a stop in Lahaina in Oct on the Coral, and Pride is in Kahului that day. The Coral is small enough to get into Nawiliwili and I hope that's where we go instead of Kona. In Lihue my go to is Hamura Saimin.
  10. Great seeing you again. We were off to eat at a place we had seen reviews on only to find out they didn't open till 4pm. Suzanne did find a backpack of stuff for the grandkids and I found several good beers. Hope you found good wines.
  11. I thankfully haven't had any for the last few days. I check everyday. On one correction, it got taken off my ledger and then added to my wife's.
  12. I wanted to get it sorted out before I put gift cards I have onto my account. Nothing stopping my getting a drink. Just have to be sure it doesn’t slide off the table
  13. That makes sense as to the 2 entries. A discrepancy had to be cleared. Mahalo
  14. Royal Class vs Crown Class. Our favorite cabins are E731 and E730 on Crown Class, they are the full aft extended balcony fully covered mini suites. Not the same on the Majestic. E728 is a Owners suite and E731 is an aft facing Deluxe Balcony.
  15. We have been on the Majestic Princess since 03/31. We started with a 10day Queensland cruise with was in AUD, and now since 04/10 a 30day Transpacific cruise using USD. Besides the daily trips to GS to get random bar charges removed as we have Plus, on the 10th we each got a "Referred to Corporate Finance" charge. I asked on my daily visit what the charge was for and was at first told, I don't know, then maybe it has to be due to the AUD to USD conversion. Today, 2 days after the 1st charge, another one is posted. I'm getting to know all the GS agents. This is getting old,not really taking up my time as I go at 0500 while getting my wife's coffee.
  16. Captain just said we’ll pick up port pilot at approximately 1120, and hopefully be alongside at 1230.
  17. Ship location now showing us heading back in correct direction to Sydney. Arrival time has been updated to 1100. We'll see if this holds. No announcement from the Captain yet. Just got under the door notice. Celebrity to leave at 0930 and we plan on arriving at Noon.
  18. We are heading SSW into a 43.2mph wind at 7kts. Very stable ship for these conditions.
  19. Here’s the update: Seems the port just closed down. I was upfront waiting to see who was brave(stupid) enough to attempt a boarding in 39mph winds Deck 17 and above have been closed since 3 or so.. Captain just came on and we will be loitering into the wind and “hope” to get into the port sometime mid morning. Enjoy your sleep in and check status in the am.We love the motion of the ocean. Back to the bar!!
