  1. We did this tr ip in September from Celebrity Reflection. It is essential to check ferry timetable on line before travelling. The booking office only takes cash and you need to book the return trip at the time of booking the outward journey. We got 9am ferry and next one wasn't until 11 as I recall. Came back about 2/2.30

  2. We had the Classic package on our recent Reflection cruise. We realised after a couple of days that the wine list we were given in the dining room did not include all classic package wine available and that we were able to order wine that only appeared on the list in one of the bars we frequented.

Best advice is to speak with the sommelier.

  3. We're travelling to Hong Kong in 3 weeks so have been following closely. Our hotel is in Kowloon and most of protests so far seem to be on HongKong Island.

The protesters are very well behaved but the Chinese Governments track record in responding to opposition is not good. Only thing we an do is watch carefully. Certainly have no plans to change travel plans.

  4. We used this service on August 27th having purchased vouchers on line in early May. We were travelling on Celebrity Reflection which docked at 2pm so were booked on the 3 pm boat. We went into the first office we saw after leaving the tender and immediately came across Gianluca who had sold us the tickets via Santorini Planet. He took our vouchers and said they were not valid because he had not received the money. I gave him my recept from PayPal and also pointed out that I had emailed him twice regarding the service after reading concerning reports on this website. He continued to insist the voucher was not valid but my husband and I gently stood our ground. He then walked away from us and passed the voucher to the cashier without further communication with us. This was very uncomfortable as he was rude and charmless.

We got on the 3pm boat but had failed to appreciate that the boat went to Athinos and not Oia. We were bused from Athinos to Oia which took about 45 minutes on a bus with no air con. We arrived in Oia at 4.20 pm and the buses back were 5pm, 6pm and 7pm.

The whole thing was pretty chaotic and most people like us did not appreciate that they were going via Athinos.

  5. We used select dining on our recent cruise. We booked the first couple of nights online before we left the Uk and requested a table for 3. We then booked a table each evening by telephoning the dining room. On one occasion we forgot and just turned up at the dining room.

We were able easily to get a table for 3 and at the time we wanted each evening.

  6. We had the classic package on our recent reflection cruise and it wAs sufficient for our needs. Important to note that if things aren't on the bar menu within the price range they often available if you ask for them or the waiters suggest alternatives. I predominantly drink New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and was able to get it in all the bars we used within the Classic package.

  8. We didn't think it was a good advert for Princess. I liked the ship but some of the passengers featured came over very badly particularly the british woman. Felt sorry for her husband whose body language indicated that he wished he was somewhere else!

  9. That's probably because it is.

I bet no "chef" worthy of the name ever gets anywhere near Wetherspoons' food. It's mass-produced in food factories and frozen or chilled. The "chef" at the location will probably be a minimum wage youth who's done some basic food handling training and who simply follows the microwave (or whatever) reheating instructions.

Wetherspoons is cheap, and this is how they can sell it cheap.

Most pub food in the UK is made on a similar basis. You can routinely see the chiller vans delivering the pre-packaged manufactured food to them. It's almost universally poor. You really have to work quite hard to find decent food in a pub.

I agree about Weatherspoons but here in the rural North we have a good choice of excellent pub food cooked by chefs and generally using local and seasonal produce.
