  1. I think we'll be there on the same day on Silhouette 7 am - 5 pm with potentially 9800 passengers from 3 ships in port from 2-5 pm. MSC Fantasia has a capacity of 3959 passengers and they arrive at 9 am.

Time for me to e-mail Santorini Planet and NST to see if either has an option to take a boat back, as well, or I think we will want to depart from Fira to ship ~ 1 pm to avoid the crowds.

@susanw814 - If it isn't too much trouble, would you keep an eye open for the NST boats? If they share the same boats then I would think the boat would fill faster and leave earlier than filling two separate boats which each only depart when full.

We don't arrive until 2pm and I've booked the 3pm boat.

  2. We generally find wifi easily in most ports. Often in port buildings, cafe's or bars or see groups of crew members on line. We travel with a teenager so finding wifi is usually high on his list of priorities.

  3. I've given up on this now. I sent a few questions by email and received a reply that didn't answer any of them but invited me to buy 3 tickets. I think it's possibly a language problem and maybe the person responding doesn't have fluent english which combined with my lack of Greek is a problem!

The website still doesn't seem to do bookings.

  4. We would use the boat trip but as I mentioned previously my worry is how quickly we will be able to get off the ship given the late arrival. Last time we visited Santorini we used a ships tour and were off very early ( compared to other) but the tours on offer are not really what we want to do.

The boat docks at 2 and boat to Oia leaves at 3 pm according to the old website. I'm going to email Gianluca again today and see what comes back. These islands are heavily dependent on tourism so there may have been changes to the timetable hopefully.

  5. I still can't work out the website but have had an email this morning inviting me to email our requirements. Tickets are 25 euro plus 1.5 euro handling charge.

Not sure what to do yet. Ship arrives at 2pm and boat leaves at 3pm. Given this is a late arrival and tendering will probably get off quicker by booking a ships tour.

  6. I've been struggling with the website for days. Also tried to book through the Facebook page link without success so I've sent them an email now.

I had an email back this morning - very rapid reply. They are working on their website and things should be up and running in about a week

  7. We will be in Piraeus in early September on Celebrity Reflection for 12 hours. We don't want to go into Athens and are looking for alternative things to do. We've previously visited Corinth and the canal

I wonder if anyone can suggest other places to visit please? We have considered either Aegina or Poros. I wonder if anyone as visited either of these islands? Any advice will be appreciated.

  8. Hi. We've visited Spinalonga whilst holidaying in Elounda which is the village opposite Spinalonga and the place where boat trips leave from. We've also visited Heraklion on a cruise and whilst holidaying on Crete. Elounda is over an hour from Heraklion by car. Can't remember how long the boat trip took but according to http://www.eloundaboat.gr they go every 30 minutes.

Hiring a car or taxi may be your best option depending on how much time you have.

We really enjoyed our visit to the Island and this is a beautiful part of Crete.

  9. Grange Tower Bridge is obviously near The Tower of London and therefore further out than the Doubletree by Hilton Westminster. We like Doubletree by Hilton because it is more central. We also like Tower Hill area and have stayed there a few times but it really depends on your plans. For us it involved a lot more travelling and twice the tube was not running because of upgrades

The old county Hall is now a hotel and over the river from Parliament.
