  1. Haven sundeck bar service is really not that great for sure. Price on Bliss would be $249 pp. Adults only and a handy bar are pretty nice selling points.
  2. Just curious...LOL Although I usually stay in the Haven(actually AF Penthouse) I've always kinda wanted to buy Vibe passes and see how it compares at least once. Passes are currently available for my cruise! Anyone ever done both on the same cruise?
  3. They are absolutely on sale right now! We went the Haven route and have an aft-facing PH booked figuring that’s the best spot to watch for whales and such!
  4. I AM going to be following along! We have the Bliss booked this time NEXT year. Looking forward to hearing about your cruise!
  5. So we will be aboard the Rotterdam in November for a 9 day. I’ve never been aboard the new Rotterdam but it looks like there are two decks of deck chairs around two pools. So can I expect all or most of these loungers to be “occupied” on sea days? I like my balcony but sometimes enjoy lounging around the pool some or just having a change of scenery. I am kinda used to a suite sun deck offered by other cruise lines. Is a retreat cabana something I should look into to make sure we have two loungers on deck? Thanks!
  6. That's great! Now all I have to do is wait...which of course IS the hardest part!
  7. I look for that or less…for TWO ppl per day. Can sometimes see that for Oasis and Harmony. That’s about a year and a half out.
  8. I’m currently on my last Royal cruise for a while. I can get a Pinnnacle suite on Holland America for any Star class and many Sky class suites—-similar itineraries and prob a nicer ship. The Haven on NCL is much less usually as well.
  9. Star class- $2500/ day isn’t that bad these days. I’ve seen less on Harmony lately.
  10. Really….if not staying in a suite, there is really not much reason to sail Royal. More/better suite perks was the whole reason I started with Royal. No doubt Carnivals balcony cabins are better as is their included food options. If I didn’t like suites, I probably would have never made the change.
  11. Thanks for everyone's help! Suite 10000 is now BOOKED!
  12. One more question.... Is it doable to sit in your loungers on the balconies of 10000/10500 while underway?
  13. Thanks to everyone for their replies! So much help! Yeah the OS on deck nine and ten are nice and the main attraction IS the two balconies. The difference in price I come up with for suites 10000 and 9004(OS) is $6300! That's almost $573 a day! I really can't see it!
  14. Hello all, I've decided to book the 11 day Panama Canal itinerary aboard the Jade. I have stayed in suites(Star) and Haven suites(Getaway,Breakway,Escape) but have never even been on this class of ship that has both suites and Haven suites. I'm about to book a cabin and can't make up my mind which one to get. It's kind of confusing, Has anyone stayed in both a suite and a Haven suite aboard a Jewel-class ship and can say exactly what the difference is? I understand access to the Haven for Haven suites and no access for regular suites. I understand both eat breakfast and lunch in a speciality restaurant. I sure would appreciate any comments comparing the two. Thank you!
  15. Thank you, thank you! That was exactly what I was wanting to know. I did not realize there were no casual spots to eat dinner on Regent It would also be VERY hard for us to not wear shorts in some public areas after 6pm on a Caribbean cruise. We could probably do it. It sure would be a change. I was actually leaning in the Regent direction. Might be best for us to go the direction of Viking or maybe even Oceania. You have some amazing cruises planned! Enjoy your cruises! Thank you again for your response!
  16. Hello all, We're looking for a change up. Basically looking for a little different itinerary than what NCL and Royal for that matter, offer. We are used to the Haven and Royal Sky/Star suites. I have found a couple if 10/11 day itineraries that look good to us and they are with Viking Ocean and Regent Seven Seas. Of course I know next to nothing about either cruise line. So I just wanted to see if any fellow NCL cruisers had been on either cruise line and your thought. Thanks you!
  17. I've had cruises booked with YC and canceled and went with what I knew which is usually NCL Haven or Royal Sky/Star suite. Everyone has their own set of priorities. One of mine is I want two loungers on my balcony at least and hopefully a table with two chairs. That's about impossible with a YC suite. Two very basic chairs and a very small table is all I can determine is on the balconies of the majority of YC suites. Current prices I've see are just short of $10K/7 days for a balcony suite out of Galveston which is currently the only sailing for Caribbean itineraries for the timeframe I need. That's getting up there where it may or may not be very competitive with the other cruise lines.
  18. I haven't lately. That would probably be a good way to go too. From what I'm seeing I can do a pretty good suite and longer itinerary on Oceania for what a RS is and still have some change in my pocket. I understand some of the price includes a ship with more "stuff" to do. More variety, more choices. I'm kinda at the stage in life now that I really just want to relax and take it easy on a cruise. LOL!
  19. Thanks! And I would do MSC but I can't find an itinerary I like for the timeframe I need. My last few cruises with Royal have been Star class which new bookings are well let's say, up there! So much so there are now many other options.
  20. Thanks a lot for that info1 I think I may have found a few itineraries I like with Oceania. The prices Royal has currently really opens up so many other possibilities.
  21. Thanks to both of you! I've been looking at those two and also Explora Journeys.
  22. Hi, So yeah we want to try something different. We've done Royal, Carnival, Celebrity, NCL, HAL, and Princess. Thinking about trying one of the "luxury" lines. I have no idea which way to go. But would want something very similar to Royal...don't want to have to dress up for dinner any more than nice slacks/shirt. Really looking for better service, smaller/newer ship. Suggestions?
  23. If you REALLY want to go on the cruise you better book what they have. A TA can keep an eye but I'd really hold myself responsible for watching for a balcony or suite. Probably one will become available at some point. I'd check every day and I have before! When one comes up make the change.
