  1. EXCELLENT feedback! Thank you both!
  2. Hi, I'm about to book Discovery for Mexican Riviera itinerary. I'm gonna book an S3 Penthouse suite and I need a little help on which to book. I'd even book an S2. I would like some overhang/cover over the balcony. I've looked at pictures and videos until I'm tired of looking. It LOOKS like D727/D726 and B734/735 are the best bets but it's kinda hard to tell. If some of you have staying in these cabins I'd appreciate a little guidance. Thanks!
  3. You know...maybe I've been lucky but I've never had a Haven butler that was apathetic. All really wanted to be of service. Now CONCIERGE...yes! Dillip probably set the bar here and was excellent.
  4. I'd start with the haven concierge then if no results the ships hotel director.
  5. So there are two spots to get drinks/food there. As long as you eat/drink at least a little bit you can use their restrooms.
  6. Actually the beach is before you get to Marigot, Mullet Bay. Beautiful and cabanas to rent. Sandy's Creole Cuisine is our go place to eat in Marigot. PLENTY of taxis that will gladly take you to both places.
  7. I like St Maarten better than St Thomas. We found a beach we really like and there are great restaurants at Marigot.
  8. I'm not going to lie...I've had a couple booked that I cancelled and I consider them all the time. The price is very reasonable and many times their itinerary isn't same ole, same ole. The two main reasons I haven't gone cruising with them is suite balcony size and menu. Balcony size- looks like it's about the size of a Haven suite which for me is too small. I like having two loungers on my balcony to have our own private place we can kick back. Menu- of course I've looked at some of the YC menus. Probably mostly my fault but I don't have much of an Italian, French, Greek, etc palate beyond the standard fare. I'll tell you what, I'll give them another look! Thanks for the recommendation!
  9. So Celebrity's product resembles NCL product the most probably. Celebrity's retreat DSC is $21/d/pp. NCL Haven DSC is $25/d/pp. How about for starters $4/d/pp out of that $25?
  10. From my prospective they did get a few things right... 1. I've never been at a Haven bar and got really good to great service. Usually a little on the slow side, a little on the not so friendly side, and probably a little on the understaffed side. 2. They are completely correct about the Haven menu. Being able to dine at included specially restaurants saves them. 3. Highest service frees in the business I believe. Why AREN'T the concierge and butler included? They sure do deserve it. Of course their base pay may be such that they don't depend on gratuities. 4. It WOULD be great if the Haven area had a little live entertainment at least occasionally. Some strings, a guitar, a piano...something to improve the ambiance. But on the other hand... 1. I'm not really sure one can beat the Haven price for those wanting a more upscale experience based on what IS included. 2. Maybe they don't have a lot of suite experience. No suite experience is perfect and differ between cruise lines. I've done Celebrity, Royal, HAL, and NCL, several times in their top suites. No suite experience is perfect or even what they could/should be. All have things they do great and then things that aren't so good. 3. I have generally been satisfied with the Haven product.
  11. I did this about 2010. I was worried I wouldn't like Norwegian. Of course there was nothing to worry about. Now, I've cruise NCL more than Carnival. I enjoy multiple cruise lines. Different ports, different ships, different way of doing things, a different experience. Go with the understanding it will be a little different and I can't imagine you not enjoying NCL.
  12. What exactly is it you are wanting to do? There probably are private folks that will come thru for you. Cozumel is a great place to do a private excursion.
  13. Miracle to Panama Canal and Jubilee! Both out of Galveston might I add! I haven't been on a Carnival ship since 2014. I may have to do a "Royal cruiser does CCL" live review LOL.
  14. Hi, I am enjoying your live review! I'm one of those that cruises on most cruise lines but mostly Royal and NCL. I DO have two CCL cruses booked! Have a great cruise!
  15. Enjoying reading your review! I haven't been on a Carnival ship in nine years and your review brings back some fond memories. I've never been on Freedom but have been on several of Her sister ships.
  16. The Haven on NCL is pretty dang good on Breakaway or newer ships. It's not quite up to Star class service but I really like it. Haven area is very nice. Very nice Haven sundeck. The Haven restaurant is excellent as well. Butler service is included. They can and will do anything they can for you though not quite a Genie. One nice thing is when getting back on the ship at ports head toward "The Haven" sign and bypass the long line. These are from NCL Escape...
  17. Hi, We are really just looking for a relaxing day in Barbados. May or may not want to do any snorkeling. Looking at Elegance and Silver Moon. You think either would have an issue with us not doing any snorkeling? THANKS!
  18. Thanks for the replies! I'm gonna stick with it!
  19. Greetings, I've cruised Princess once several years ago in a mini-suite. I've cruised Royal mostly but NCL, Carnival, HAL, and Celebrity as well. It looks like the Emerald Princess currently has one of the few true "partial transit" Panama Canal cruises. It's 12 days and that's about the maximum amount of time I can get away. So we like to stay in suites. Which would you pick on the Emerald? Currently I have D736 on hold. I like the aft location and looks like it has a large balcony which we also like. It's hard to judge stateroom size as it looks as if the general suite layouts are very similar. Appreciate any comments!
  20. The VAST majority happening August thru early November.
  21. That WOULD be great! I have a deck 15 aft corner suite booked on Celebration myself! I like my loungers in the shade!
  22. I've cruised out of San Juan several times. First was aboard the Valor. GREAT cruise! Royal Caribbean has an awesome itinerary featuring Trinidad and Tobago right now. I'm booked for March 2024!
  23. $350 aft-wrap NS on NA,. Now I will say I went the lowest far option vs. the everything included option. That may have been the reason.
