I was really replying to the poster who has cancelled the cruise in case they find dogs on board. You are absolutely right that bad owners bringing pets on board should be stopped. That’s why I said ‘proper service dogs’.

You can’t avoid ‘official’ service dogs on any cruise line you book. They have a right to travel. So no more cruises for you . I have cruised for years and have never met a dog on board, except for Karine Hagen’s on the Chairmans cruise and they were kept well away from everyone sadly, as I wanted to meet them.

I am really intrigued as to how they are getting their dogs home from Spain? I live in the UK and we used to take our dog out to Spain with us when we had a holiday home out there. It’s a palaver getting your dog home again. Vet checks , paperwork etc. Surely they’re not flying them home? We used to take our dog out 24hrs on Santander Ferry. Dedicated dog cabin and excercise area. Not allowed to roam the Ship obviously. 24 hrs was enough for me (and my dog ) . I think it’s cruel taking a dog on a TA voyage.

In 2021 we had turn around day in Malta when we did two back to back cruises. There was no excursion offered on MVJ but a couple of days before the turn around day Viking offered us a tour FOC which was excellent . No idea whether it’s different during Covid times as it was then and we were not allowed to do independent exploration .

It is unusual for Viking to allow only 30 mins between tours. I have not been able to do that in the past. They usually insist on an hour. However, if your bookings have been accepted I would definitely go for it. It’s very unusual for tours to come back late, and if you were very unlucky you would only be missing the included tour and not the paid one. Enjoy your trip.

The point is Viking should not advertise guaranteed dining or priority bookings for PV when they can’t deliver. Isn’t there a law against false advertising ???

It was a supply issue -like many things around the world at the moment.

We chose to go in two days earlier. They could only offer us a flight arriving at 2.00am next day.

BA are having to cancel flights now because Heathrow airport have reduced passenger capacity. They have just cancelled our flight to Rome and we’ve had to re schedule the day we fly.

Yes , you can both stand in front of it and it’s easier to get to, but only one of you can access the wardrobe at a time. When I open my side it closes my husbands side 😂😂

I hardly think the cruise would be cancelled because of a supply issue with safes.😂😂 When we sailed on the Mars we were missing a bin in the bathroom and water carafes - hardly a real hardship . The Ship was amazing.

If you go into your My Viking Journey and then go into Before you go and pre departure requirements there is a list of requirements . Go through to the section Greece and you will find the link that explains that Greece requires a Covid test for cruise ship departures. I am also from the UK and found this surprising especially as there is no mention of this on the UK Gov site. However there was a cruise review on here that stated they were tested at the port because they hadn’t had a test. keep an eye on MVJ because things could change by September. It appears this is just for cruise Ships 😥

If you are sailing from Greece check out your MVJ. Go to the before you go section and it tells you there. I was surprised to see this too to be honest.

Our Ship overnighted in Tromso so no fear of missing the Ship. We did a nighttime sled ride from Tromso. The pick up was the Radisson Hotel which is just by where the ship docks. They bussed us about 30 mins out of town so Northern Lights viewing at the same time if conditions are right.We had a long sled ride, tour if the dogs and met the puppies and a supper of reindeer stew. Sorry can’t remember the name but look it up on Google. We also did the Viking dog sledding trip too in Alta . I would highly recommend Tromso Artic Reindeer. Fabulous trip not too far from the port and half the price of Vikings.

Don’t know who you are flying with but BA have a habit of making you put your hand luggage in the hold on a full flight ( even if it fits their size requirements) . You might just as well take a normal suitcase and a carryon.
