When I booked my cruise I received onboard credit and dinner for two in the steakhouse. I went to book this and it looked like I would have been charged so I stopped the process. How do I know I’m using the free dinners provided by the ta? thank you.

I read the thread. I was unable to completely understand the total delay that occurred. I believe that instead of arriving in New York in the morning, it’s going to now arrive in the afternoon. Obviously the subsequent cruise would leave late. But from what I’ve read the QM2 could easily make up the lost time eastbound to SouthHampton. Do I understand correctly?

I answered my own question. There is an option to fit the boarding pass document to letter size. Once I selected the "fit to paper" option it worked. Hope this helpful to others.

This is getting real!! Getting excited. I got ready to print the boarding pass and for some reason, I cannot get it to print the entire boarding pass. I assume there is a fix for this. But it would be simpler to have it on my phone and just have them scan my phone. I appreciate every ones help. I have my tuxedo for the formal nights!!. So I will not embarrass my GF.

I just started my check in process. I see that I have a 2:30 pm time. I’m in a Brittanica balcony and a first timer. So this makes sense to me. We will arrive earlier because we want to make sure we don’t miss the cut off.

This is helpful. We can plan on leaving the hotel at checkout time and get to Red Hook at 12:30. As long as there is AC and places to sit waiting would not be a problem.

I noticed a smell on Amtrak trains when they are starting off fresh at the beginning of a trip. It gives me a sense of anticipation. I am sure QM2 will be much better.

I noticed there was a thread discussing boarding experiences in Southampton. I though it might be helpful for such a thread for departing NYC. I’m departing on July 7. As soon as I get my boarding pass I’ll share my boarding time. Hopefully others will do the same and this will help fellow cruisers.

Thank you for the replies. I understand and appreciate that for most a 7-day crossing is the perfect escape from everyday hassles. It will be the same for me too. I plan on using Skype to call my 98-year-old father once or twice a day so that he has a sense of connection. This can hopefully be done from the privacy of my cabin as mentioned up thread. If I have to call from a public area. I would not do it when others are trying to enjoy an activity.

Yes, I would not be making calls in a public area where music is playing. I’m in cabin 6293. Not sure how close that is to a router. If I had to make a call from a public area I would try to pick a place where there were few people around.

Would Starlink make it possible to use Skype?

I am a teacher too. If possible, I would try to have things organized to get things graded before he gets on the ship. I am a teacher too, and if I mess up the grading, or don't submit them, the administration is not happy. Your school system may have security software that would block remote access too. I hope things work out for him and you.
