I have an upcoming cruise with Princess in Feb17 and it is the first time I am bringing a 4 wheel Pride Victory 10 scooter. It is a full size scooter although I have seen larger. My questions are: Is there enough space in a handicap accessible room to park the scooter and move around comfortably? Is there anything I should be aware of beyond the potential for MDR staff mixing scooters up? In port at Maui a tender that is 'limited wheelchair accessible' is noted on the itinerary. What the heck does that mean?

:mad:I have had a Travelscoot for a few years and travelled extensively with various airlines with no problems up to now. Recently starting having problems with getting approval to fly back from Singapore with a change of plane in Hong Kong. Also having a hard time with Jet Airways to fly from Delhi to Dubai with the battery and scooter.

To try and avoid problems I have decided to purchase the smaller battery (160 wh) instead of the one that came with my scooter that is about 274 wh. It is going to cost me about $900 and I don't really need it except to try to avoid issues with airlines.

I think the uproar is being caused partly by the problems with the Samsung phones catching fire and the hovercraft problems and now the scooter batteries are being challenged.

Just my two cents worth and what has happening to me.

I have just talked with my dealer for "Travelascoot" in Victoria BC, Canada. I believe you delt with them on a scooter of mine, anyway they sent me a website on Lithium Ion batteries.

Print this off, it has good information.

I will start with saying this is NOT about the auto-tips which I have never removed.

Being from Europe and British I am confused about tipping hotel personnel, shuttle drivers, porters, bar staff etc.

We have two days in Miami before boarding, do we need to tip our transfer drivers, the maids in our hotel, the bar staff if we go for a drink etc etc. Also the porters when we embark? If so how much is acceptable?

Important to note that the scootanywhere no longer rents the Travelscoot. It now just rents the SMARTSCOOT which is not the same scooter and made by a totally different manufacturer. That's not to say it's not worth checking out but OP needs to know the Travelscoot is NOT the same as the Smartscoot.

I became interested in this product when given a link to the website by a friend. Did you buy this directly from the website without seeing it or trying it out first? Did that experience turn out ok for you? Would you recommend this product? We are hesitant to spend $2500 for a product we can't test drive first.

Any helpful information is much appreciated. TYIA :)
