Hi, Donna's Mom & Dad,i'm UK based and was interested in the link, is there a reason why the link dates July 2015, has it only now come into being law?
Could I also ask a question to everybody ,if I fly to New York and travel back to the UK on one of Cunard Queens will I be covered under the ADA ? but if I sail from the UK to New York and fly back to the UK I presume that it would not apply.

I sure don't like, it hide the information as you go along, it mimics other confusing sites, it's difficult to do any planning, as you can't check back and forth, as you go along, like on the old and better one!!!!!!!!!!!:confused: :confused: :eek:

Please note, Princess Cruises guidelines for reserving a Wheelchair Accessible Staterooms directly follows the guidelines set down by the US Department of Justice.
Effective January 3, 2012, compliance with federal regulations regarding the booking of wheelchair accessible cabins will be required. These regulations are designed to enhance the booking process for guests who require the use of a wheelchair accessible cabin. The regulations require that guests who have a recognized disability that alters a major life function, and use a mobility devise, must be able to book a wheelchair accessible cabin when available, and they must acknowledge that they require the use of the cabin.
If the guest arrives at the port for embarkation, and it is apparent that they do not meet the requirements of needing a wheelchair accessible cabin, they may be moved from the cabin if another guest requiring the cabin comes forward.

the following describes devices that can be considered mobility devises, and explains what can be considered a recognized disability that alters a major life function:

What types of devises DO count as mobility devices? A mobility devise usually has three or four wheels (Wheelchair or scooter) designed to accommodate a mobility disability.

What types of devices DO NOT count as mobility devices? A device with one, two, three or more wheels designed for recreation (unicycle, bicycle, wagon, skate board, segway, etc.) Walkers and Canes do not count unless the guests have a recognized disability. (See Below Bullet Point)

What is a good description of a recognized disability that alters a major life function (that is required for booking an Accessible cabin)? A disability that affects the major life function "mobility" (standing, walking or running), a paraplegic (paralyzed upper or lower limbs), (quadriplegic paralyzed both arms and legs), stroke, amputee (prosthetic leg), hemiplegia (paralysis on one side of the body). illness or accident that affects mobility.
The Attestation (provided by the US Department of Justice for use by all cruise lines) "I attest that I or another person traveling in the same cabin have a recognized disability that alters a major life function and requires the use of a mobility device and the use of the accessible features provided in the wheelchair accessible cabin. Please be advised Princess is required to investigate the potential misuse of accessible cabins where there is good cause to believe such cabins have been purchased fraudulently. Princess will take appropriate action against someone who has reserved or purchased such a cabin fraudulently. Action may include but is not limited to removal from the cabin to a non accessible accommodation up to denial of boarding."

My family of four is staying two nights in Copenhagen before a cruise in May 2016 and are looking at a moderately priced hotel to stay that is within walking distance to sightseeing and in a safe part of town. Easy to get to from the airport and cruise terminal.
My children are older, so we are open to getting two hotel rooms if needed.
Any suggestions? One place I was looking at was the Avenue Hotel, it looks like it gets decent reviews on tripadvisor.

I've just spent quite some time searching old threads for info about tendering, but I didn't quite find what I was looking for. I'm sure it's out there, but it certainly eluded me!
Anyway, we will be on the Star Princess next month (5 day to Cabo) and I am hoping to figure out how tendering will work in the morning, as we have an independent tour scheduled at 8:30am.
There are quite a few early ship excursions (a few before 8am, a few right at 8:30, and many after) and we are hoping this will not cause a problem with us making it to our 8:30 activity on time. 4 of our group are suite passengers (getting priority tendering I believe?), but the other 9 have no priority tender access.
With that said, are we crazy to think we will make it to our independent activity on time? Or is tendering a pretty quick process? Are the tender boats pretty big so a good number of passengers can head out at once?
Thanks in advance for any light you all can shed on this. :)
It might be an idea of getting up early, and be at the tender lounge area early. :D

.....first time in a scooter, first time with c-pap. A year ago I would have never believed this was me, but it is. We are cruising to the New England/Canada fall cruise but have to fly out to Boston. Does the ship, Brilliance, sell distilled water onboard?

I have used a CPAP for 19 years, and have used nothing but tap water, just have to soak clean the water tank with vinegar once in a while. You will also need an extension cord.;)

We will be departing Southampton Sept 6th on Royal Princess:). We would like an informative-tour-type shuttle to Southampton from our hotel (not sure where we are staying yet) since we won't have much time to explore prior to embarkation (only 1.5 days in London)
I want to confirm that my best options for this type of service is either:
1. National Express Coach Services (requires me to take a cab to Victoria Bus Station in London and then a taxi to the pier.
2. Shared Shuttle direct from hotel to pier.

I am about to go a princess cruise for the first time and had a question about the power outlets in the cabins. Does anyone know how many outlets there are? Both of us have quite a few electronics that will need to be charged each night, camera, iPhones, iPads, back up chargers, etc. Want to find out if there will be enough or if I should bring a power strip.

This is my first post so don't know if I am doing it right or not...
We are taking the Seabourn Quest, Boston to Montreal, on 9/11/15. We will be driving to Montreal, want to stay in a nice hotel there, for 2 nights, that will let us leave the car and stay there again on the return on 9/21. Anyone know of such a hotel? If we stay at t he hotel, both before and after the cruise, is the car parking included?

All Inclusive Beverage Packages are new since my last cruise. We are sailing December 4th on the Star for 17 days to Santiago Chile and I'm trying to decide if the $56.00 package (including gratuity) will be a good choice. I'm curious about people's experiences with this option on longer cruises and if they've found value. In my mind it would be an obvious value for a shorter cruise where I might be inclined to imbibe a bit more daily, but for a longer cruise, I'm thinking I might take breaks from drinking and not find the value. Also, my traveling partner really isn't much of a drinker so it clearly would not be a great deal for her, but at dinner she enjoys wine. I'm wondering if I can purchase a bottle of wine with the 40% discount for her to enjoy over a few days, while I order wine by the glass. One thing I've noticed about Princess is they sell half bottles of liquor for consumption in your stateroom at a very reasonable price. I'm curious if these bottles are available for purchase throughout the cruise or only prior to setting sail. If they are, this would factor into my decision.
The package includes all cocktails, spirits, beer and wine priced below $10, as well as nonalcoholic items like soda, mocktails and shakes. Also included are coffee, tea, espresso and specialty drinks. Additionally, it includes a 40 percent discount on bottled wines priced less than $100 and any food items usually included with the coffee card like crepes and gelato. :D ;)

I've rented scooters, from Copenhagen to New York. Southampton to Venice,
No problem, it's in the cabin, when I get there, and I leave it there when I'm finished with it.
Everything else is looked after by the rental company.
You just pay the bill, and use the scooter. :D
