Glad to see you have someone getting one for you.  For anyone else that ever wants something from a ship, here's what I did and it worked out quite well.  I missed getting three different ship models.  I went to the roll calls and ask if anyone going on that particular ship in the near future would be interested in getting one for me.  Almost instantly I had three people willing to do it.  I told them to get the ship, find out how much it would cost to ship it and send me the information and I would send them a cashier's check for the amount with extra for their troubles.  Two of them did it and I sent them the check.  The third person was so trusting that they mailed me the ship with the cost on a slip of paper inside before I paid them.  Needless to say, I mailed them the check back that day.  I had all three missing ships within a month.  There are some great people on this board.

Thank you, that's a good idea.

Just wanted to say good luck. I feel your pain. I also collect magnets of every ship I’ve been on. When we were on the Legend, however, they didn’t have any. I was forced to stalk eBay until I found one. But it’s an old metal one and would prefer a ceramic one from that ship. Or even one of the newer plastic ones. I really wish they would sell them online.

We do too! They should sell them on the CCL website.

Would anyone be willing to sell, or purchase for us, a Carnival Victory ship magnet. It was our first cruise on Carnival. My husband collects the ship magnets, and we have all of the ones we have sailed except the Victory.

We thought we would sail on her again one day, but since she is being renamed, that won't be possible. We have PayPal, or could mail you a check, or however you prefer.

If anyone can assist with this, we would be very grateful. Our email is

mchjch@live.com if you want to send us a message. We appreciate any help or suggestions. Have tried ebay, no luck.

  4. Just contacted my PVP. There are no cabins available for 2 that will help our view in a 7A, however, she will look for one to become bookable for us. I will keep looking as well.

Not unhappy with the cabin type, but do want the best view we can get within that category.

Will definitely do my homework next booking!

  5. 5165 is a view of the lifeboat.

look at the deck plan https://www.cruise deck plans.com/DP/deckplans/Carnival-Miracle

see the white planks between cabin numbers example 5169 thats a cabin you want as its BETWEEN lifeboats

any where that you see that white plank is between lifeboats

    5236 is the best 7A

thank you. I'll look for one between the lifeboats.

  6. Quick look at the photos of the ship show that the first three boats on each side are tenders, and then looking at the deck plan, your cabin is right at the third boat back, so it would be a tender.

Thank you, I thought that was the case. I'll look for one farther aft, or in between.

  7. Hi all!

For those of you who have sailed in a 7A cabin on Spirit class ships, would you happen to know if cabin 5165 has a lifeboat or a tender boat as the obstruction? Specifically the Miracle.

May need to try and switch, if it will make a difference. This is one time I didn't do my homework. Lesson learned!

    Thanks

  8. Thanks everyone. Yes, we took the deal quickly, before it was gone.

We received an email, and also got a call on my husband's cell phone.

I think others got a similar offer, from responses on a different message board that shall not be named, lol!

  9. Thanks cru1z1n, mica's grandad, and maryred. I have contacted our PvP but she has not responded to my email.

we will stay in our 4k, maybe we'll get more price drops. Will be going on the decks through the canal. DH is more into it than me, wanted a balcony for him, but not necessary.

  10. DH and I are currently booked in a 4K cabin on the Miracle. We are also booked early saver and have had a couple price drops, resulting in on board credit.

My question is, if we decide to upgrade to a balcony guarantee, will we still be considered early saver, and if not, will we lose our on board credit?

Trying to weigh our options. The cruise is a 14 day Panama Canal cruise. We're wondering if we need a balcony, or just go up on deck going through the locks. We have had a 4K before and liked it. This one is between the lifeboats. Don't know how much we'll be able to see, that's why we're considering getting a balcony.

However we may not need one just for the canal. Any opinions are appreciated, as well as answers about the on board credit.

    Thanks!!

  11. can you use pods in the laundry or does it need to be the powder?

Yes, you can. We did in our last cruise. Was so easy to put them in a zip lock bag, in our luggage, and they worked great in the washer. We did a couple of large loads and they came out really clean.

  12. We found out this morning, through an email sent by Carnival, that we are going to Cuba in January 2020 on the Sunshine leaving from Charleston. Could not be more pleased and excited! Bucket list travel for DH.

Does Carnival provide the travel affidavit I read about, or is that included when you book the people to people excursion?

Also, cannot wait to try authentic Cuban cuisine. Are there restaurants we are allowed to purchase food? Read that there restrictions where we may spend money.

    Appreciate any answers, thanks!

  13. It would be a nice upgrade, in my opinion. If you decide to take it, ask if there are any available cabins between the lifeboats and get one of those. If not, at least you will have light, and if the doors open, a breeze.

Just make sure to keep the curtains closed if just getting out of the shower, or changing clothes, as the crew does use the catwalk just outside the French doors sometimes for maintenance, or cleaning.

We like this type of cabin very much, because you do get somewhat of an ocean view for an inside price.
