Talk about suffering, our last 2 Apex cruises were in the same MS suite. This December we will be in the same exact MS suite on the Ascent. Then Sep 2024, yep same MS suite on the Edge to Hawaii. What is the probability of getting the same exact MS suite. When I mention the same exact suite I mean same floor and 3rd MS from the front.

We were on the Apex sailing 1-14-23. Yes the internet was very fast, we were in the retreat so got the better internet.

One last observation about the high internet speeds last week on the Apex. A few days before the cruise I counted around 150 open veranda staterooms for our cruise. So maybe the potential internet load was reduced by less users on the ship.

We were in a Magic Carpet Suite 10172 on the Apex last week. We also were in this same room one year ago. Once you enter from the hallway you are still about 20 feet till your stateroom door. In this 20 feet (approx) hallway there is an inside stateroom sharing the small hallway. The MC I believe may move 2x per day, really never an issue for us. The balcony is large having 2 full lounges and 2 chairs with a very small table. Having the stateroom set back from the main hallway reduces any noise of stateroom doors slamming shut in the main hallway. There is no obstruction looking out from this balcony, however at night when the MC is on level 12, it does throw off light into the side distance of the ocean thus preventing you from seeing some stars. This light does not illuminate the balcony at all.

We were on a Celebrity excursion to Nevis last week while on the Apex. At the rear of the large excursion boat a crew member caught a fish. He said Celebrity gives him TOP dollar for catching Tilapia for Luminae. AND of course I am kidding.....

We were in the Retreat last week on the Apex. Now the internet speed can move around a lot but here is a screen shot when I checked the speed because it seemed to be running real fast.

Yes they did have some JBL headphones and speakers. The display case was pretty bare.

Thanks everyone for your comments. My only purpose to post this was to make people aware that if you received a promotional price for booking a speciality restaurant then you would not receive the Captains Club discount, which seems logically. But what surprised me was I believed I did not receive a promotional price. The small discount not received did not impact my wonderful cruise. The staff of Apex have been wonderful.

On Apex this week all they had were a few older iPad versions.

Thanks for your response. I agree it is a hassle and most times the discount is not worth the effort. I guess we were luckily last years discount was applied. Again not a lot of money involved.

So you think a price that was in effect for at least 2 years is a promotional price.

S3 staterooms are the least expensive. These rooms are located between the Magic Carpet.

I am now currently on the Apex and this is the last day. We booked Eden for 2 nights and the experience and food was excellent. The Eden reservations were booked about 10 months ago. So I went down to the Captain’s Club office to have my 15% Captains Club discount applied. They said NO discount is available. Celebrity said I booked the Eden at a promotional price before the price increase, therefore no discount is applied. Of course I did not book at a promotional price. I recall the price had been $55 for the last 2 years. Now this surprise result really does not impact me financially but somehow it does not sit well. I good portion of our OBC was transferred to our service staff anyway. I do read Cruise Critic, maybe I missed this change being discussed already.

Never shows up on your stateroom account. It is a separate transaction to the charge card.

They $200 charge went straight to my Amex card. It does not hit your ship account. I got a notification sent to my cell phone from Amex that a Celebrity charge was made for $200. By the way the internet has been lightening fast by made standards.

Currently on Apex sailing Jan 14, and purchased a future cruise certificate. No you can not use OBC for the $200 for 2 people. They will use the credit card on file for your stateroom. If you do not use within one year the money is returned to the credit card.

Now that is very very funny.

My wife just had the Lobster casserole tonight. What a great meal. I do not recall the Lobster casserole on Sundays menu, but it was on tonight’s Wednesday menu. We also have been to Eden twice this cruise and we have also enjoyed every meal in Luminae.

We are currently on the Apex and was on the Apex same time last year. The gloom and doom I read prior to this cruise on the Celebrity board kinda took the wind out of the sails so to speak. However, we have found Luminae excellent and as good as last year. The surprise was having lunch available this past Monday which was a San Juan arrival at 3:30. Usually, I remember no lunch when arriving to San Juan. I have found on this cruise we have interacted more with the Butler and Luminae staff than on previous cruises. So in summary, I will recall an expression I used when growing up on Long Island which is “ Foour get abought it”. Now my experience is tainted by being in the retreat. I will say the retreat prices may move us back to AQ.

Suite 10172 has the long hall way and accessed by an interior room. We were in this S3 last year and again in a few weeks. Great room, large balcony.

And you will see people dressing up in their team colors for the games.

Another location on S class ships for the NFL playoffs will be in Celebrity Central. Yes they do televise the playoff games.

Thanks Jim, the query function is very useful. I am on the Apex this Jan 14 and used your suggested query method. Of course I already knew the E-Class uses berth 25. So far the data is loaded thru 2022. No data is populated for 2023, al least for the Apex in 2023. Thanks again.
