  1. It has nothing to do with one cabin. Each adult had to book a room because the kids can't book their own. There is no loophole that is being taking advantage of as it's Carnival's own booking policy.

    THIS! ^^^^^

I really wonder if all the morality police are free of sin. Have they ever went over the speed limit? I mean even 1 mile over is breaking the rules. That's just one thing. The OP is not trying to get away with anything. By Carnival's policy, an adult must be in a room with minors. They need two rooms, where is the loophole?

  2. I don't know about an Allstate gift card. I used a credit card. You can cancel the excursion online easy enough. They say it takes 7-10 business days for it to show up on your statement (they claimed the delay is due to financial institution processing, which is total bull. They take that long so they can make a few more bucks interest on your money).

But if it was a Carnival gift card they supposedly give you a gift card back. Not sure what an Allstate gift card is or how it relates to Carnival.

I work in accounting and that statement made by Carnival is absolutely true. The customer's financial institution is quick to take the money but tell us it can take as long as 14 business days to refund it. I've never had to wait long to receive my refund, usually within a couple days. I don't know how it works, however, with a gift card.

  3. Also very confused. Any Carnival transfer I have take is always $25 plus per person. So $107 out of pocket for 5 people should have been cheaper...

    THIS^^^^^^

I can understand the frustration, but they were refunded the transfers at a higher cost than the cab ride. They should have to pay one way or the other. I don't understand the issue.

  4. We will be on the Valor in our first aft cabin (6483) which has a wrap around balcony. How private in this type of balcony? Sometimes my wife and I at late night like to play;) on the balcony. Is there much of a overhang or can other look down on to it? Please don't kick me in the aft for asking the question:D

Play away and wave to the camera as big brother is always watching lol.

  5. Regarding the fat and calories post earlier - The Chocolate Melting Cake is probably about 1/2 butter. That's one reason it can be soupy, melted butter.

I love the different ice creams served in the MDR.

I've made this from the recipe from Carnival and yes, you are correct lol, there is a cup of butter and 7 eggs in the recipe that serves 6. Very rich!! Lol.

  6. Unethical? Seriously? I swear some of these holier than thou people really get to me. It must be great to be such a saint and never do anything wrong and judge everyone.

Anyway, I digress, I've done this because my husband wanted to drink and I didn't think I would get my monies worth. Our kids were in a cabin and minors so he got the Cheers and I didn't. An no, he didn't share it with me, I bought my own drinks. OP just get new keys for the cabin. Have a great cruise.

  7. That might be it! I'm a sucker for chocolate! Lol they served a cocktail in MDR that was really chocolatey too, but those mixed drinks were way better in my opinion. In just 14 days I'll have one of those Getaways in my hand! Can't wait!!!:D:tropical-drink:

I am so jealous! Have a great cruise.

  8. It is kind of a shame that Royal seems to be the only line that is truly innovating. Could you imagine where cruising would be now if Carnival had put effort into truly innovative ships? I saw a post recently about how a true mega ship with a ton of innovation was quite far along and Carnival put a stop to it.

Yes and that design was used for the Oasis class sips for Royal. Same designer. It's a shame that could have set them far ahead of anyone else.

  9. Netflix on a Cruise

I like to watch a tv program/movie now and then on a cruise when I need a break from all the festivities or just to unwind before bedtime. I have not been impressed with the TV programs/movies available but do enjoy many of the helpful features Carnival provides via TV.

If you have a Netflix account and an iPad/iPhone or computer with Win 10 you can download (at home) using your wifi some programs that will be available when you cruise (some must be viewed within 48 hours or up to a month). I am also told there is no limit (except for your memory limits) but I think 2 or 3 will suffice for me. You do have to install an app first. You will not be using the internet but you must be signed in to your account. As long as you haven't logged off your account you are good to go. I asked that question.

Has anyone done this? Again - I do this to unwind - believe me I will get my monies worth doing everything I want to on my upcoming cruise!

Yes, I do this all the time either for plane trips or cruises and it works great. Not all movies are available though, usually the older ones are available for download but it's still a good selection. Lots of TV shows as well. Good luck.
