  1. As far as I know, Grand Suites do usually have two lounge chairs. If they don't, I'm sure you can request to have them brought out. We had two connecting Ocean Suites once and they were happy to do that for us :) enjoy it!

  2. We are flying first class on American an have a 3:00 flight out. What is all available in the Admirals Lounge? Thanks

I'm not sure about American and where you're flying to, but a lot of carriers consider SJU to the USA as "domestic" and therefore just having a First Class ticket doesn't qualify for lounge access, I think United is the exception. But if you do have access, it had some light snacks, open bar, wi-fi, and plenty of comfortable seating...and compared to the rest of the SJU airport that might have been the best part lol

We bought day passes since we don't have status with AA, but we were connecting in MIA so they also worked there. Well worth the money for how long we were in lounges that day.

  3. Originally booked inside on R deck midship. Assignment was about 2 weeks ago (sail date is 11/3). Assigned forward on U deck. Right now those rooms are a $7pp/day upgrade. Funny thing is BFF got their assignment a few days later and they are right next door! That leads me to believe there is a system that they use. Or we got REALLY lucky.

There is definitely a system and the assignments aren't completely random. Every time we have had friends traveling with us (linked bookings) we've had the guarantees VERY close together. Meaning we got great cabins since one of us always goes for an assigned room, so normally everyone else gets their guarantees near there.

  4. Thank you all!

I found a flight that's just $105 extra pp later in the like, like at 12:30. I'll pay that. Gives me time to get off the ship, sleep in (ish) and go through security.

    Thanks!

Good move! We've made a 10:30am flight without difficulty if we're in the same city (ie. not Port Everglades to MIA), and I've considered a 10am out of FLL before (with priority) but that's as close as I'll cut it...and we're pretty confident risk takers!

    Enjoy :)

  5. We've never had a problem getting that assigned. Sometimes when we request it, it isn't granted. But they've always been able to change us once on board. I wouldn't stress much about it. As others said, Anytime Dining may not be a bad thing to consider either it it's available.

  6. Pick the absolute worst cabin on the deck plan, that's all you're entitled to on a guarantee. Anything better is a bonus! Not trying to be negative but those are the expectations you need to set when you have a guarantee. That being said, I've had good success with being upgraded to higher decks when I get my guarantee assignment.

Hope it works well for you :)

  7. Any other Friends of Dorothy aboard the Nov 16th sailing of the Carnival Breeze?

I'm going with 7 friends and my fabulous mother for our annual Kiki Cruise: "A Cruise for Calming All Your Nerves"

We have a pretty active Roll Call in the Carnival section and have a few Meet & Greets planned. We're also definitely looking forward to heading to the Island House while we're in Key West.

So, is anyone else joining us?

  8. Sailed with him four times now (out of ten CCL cruises), would go out of my way to cruise with him again, and am VERY disappointed that he's on vacation while we're on the Breeze next month!

    Enjoy, he's definitely a memorable CD :)

  9. I never asked for anything special, her card was just there. That was a while back... Things may be different now.

I don't dispute that! If your bookings are linked AND on the same credit card for Sail & Sign, then you're a-okay! I'm just not putting all my friends on my Amex just so they can board early :p lol

  10. Booking was made under a casino offer. We usually book under Early Saver, but this was a spur of the moment decision because of the offer. The original $100 price drop was within the 48 hours for their lowest price guarantee. Today under the offer the balcony is $300 less than what we paid for the inside five days - should of waited, but start getting antsy when booking a cabin for four. I called and was given a $100 dollar credit. Not as cheap as if I would of waited, but better than nothing. Maybe next year I'll actually wait longer.

Ahhhh a casino offer. I don't do those, but I do know enough about them to know they are extremely fluid. Rates come and go quite quickly, they're a real gamble :p if you'll pardon the pun!

  11. We've done guarantee a few times, usually get our assignment about 4 weeks out. As mentioned, there isn't any notification, you just need to log into your profile and check.

As for which cabin? You never really know! Every time we've done it we've been pleasantly surprised. They hold some cabins for guarantees, so you won't see them if you try and book through the website, so you can never really tell what your options may be.

One important note: if you're traveling with others and would like to be near them, LINK YOUR BOOKINGS! Every time we've done this, we've had rooms very close by. And we always have at least one person with an assigned cabin, and all the guarantees got rooms nearby, meaning they got a nice upgrade, far from a lead-in category!

Good luck, and remember: no complaining ;)

  12. If you do have early boarding and your friends do not, you can always board with them in their zone so you can be together.

Bingo! As nice as it would be for all of us to bring our whole group with us through FTTF/Priority boarding, it does slow it down for those who have actually either paid for it or earned it. As mentioned above, you can absolutely board together, in general boarding. No harm in asking when you arrive, but I'd set your expectations appropriately.

This is up there with my other pet peeve: a family of 8 trying to all go through special assistance with one person with a cane...no one needs that much assistance. And this is coming from someone who routinely travels with a senior who needs assistance.

  13. We're considering booking on board next month. However, we'd only want to do it if it was in conjunction with a current ongoing sale. Putting a $250 deposit down just to get a $50 OBC doesn't really entice me much. I'd rather book when there is a $50 deposit or 1/2 price deposit sale and just book the Early Saver thru my PVP. Just my two cents! Can be a very good deal but just make sure you do your research.
