  1. Just checked their promos for a cruise I'm looking at next Feb for the Caribbean and seems like the upgrade to premium bev pkg is for bookings in Aquaclass and above (which isn't where we're looking to be) and the extra OBC is for Europe cruises. The cabin price quoted for a 1A (which I'm thinking of) is also a bit higher than booking thru Celebrity and it's quoted in US$ where my Celebrity prices are Cdn$ and lower since our $ is not doing so well right now. So, unless I"m reading the site incorrectly (entirely possible) it's not a great deal for everyone.

I have noticed before that that the total cruise price with this agency is higher than Celebrity's prices.

  2. Although you find it hard to believe, it was my first Celebrity cruise. And no, I have not seen it before. why would I post it if I did?

And why can't I bring money into it? It's my thread, my post, my cruise, and my money!

My apologies. I thought that you had been on X before. But that's about it.

  3. I am really stumped by the smell smoking that has been an issue on the last few cruises on the Reflection.

We were on her for 14 days at the bginning of November. There was no smell of smoke...not in the casino, nor the shopping area and not even from our port side hump balcony on Deck 8.

I wonder what has changed. Any ideas?

  4. If you're a regular at a certain place, they will start to remember your number and no longer require the card. On our recent 15-day cruise, after about day 3 or 4 the staff at Cafe Al Bacio, the Aquaspa Cafe, and Blu all recognized us by sight and knew our numbers already so no card was required with them for the remainder of the cruise.

Thanks for straightening that out for me.

I have never had the drink package. So, I had been thinking, if you have to have your card scanned each time, there would be the same physical effort as simply signing.

  5. Since this isn't your first Celebrity cruise, I find it hard to believe that you haven't seen this before. It has been on all Celebrity cruises.

I am not a fan either but.....

Why bring money into it? We all spend money on our cruises. Some more and some less.

    Cold, send it back!

  6. Well said. Thankfully not all TAs have to take on clients that won't pay consultation or cancellation fees. There are far more people cruising than are on cruise critic.

Imagine doing customized work on a home and then deciding to make changes midstream or cancel the project all together. Some who don't know what they are talking about think it is JUST booking a cruise, but for the professionals it is far more than that!

I have never used a TA for advice. I have a TA that charges no cancellation fee and gives me an OBC. I know what I want. I have all the details and call up to book. Or I have transferred a booking from onboard a cruise.

It doesn't make any sense for me to pay a cancellation fee.

  7. We were on the Reflection for her TA in November. my husband and I were so pleased that there was no loud music by the pool,or in the lobby. Not even at the Martini bar. N[not even Techno music.

Last year we were on the Eclipse and experienced all the loud music that you described.

Perhaps, TAs are more laid back or perhaps there was a change in staff or management after the TA

We found no loud music or long lines at the bars on Nov 1st cruise.:)

  8. Just boarded Reflection. Probably won't post much while underway, but since we are still in port, using my air card.

Much to my surprise, checked in around 12:30. They had a separate check in line for Suites & Zenith folks, and right next to it, a separate check in line for Elite Plus -- NO LINES!!!!! :)

The Elite Plus coupons are maroon in color. The comp cappuccino/latte is not for the entire cruise - just one coupon per sheet. One free scoop of Gelato coupon, two 30 items wash & fold, and all the remainder of the coupons are the same as Elite.

If there are any other special Elite Plus perks, I'll post later as they come up.

    Thanks for reporting this Wine-O.:)

I guess it was to good to be true to think that Elite Plus would have the free cappuccino/latte for the whole cruise.

  9. I don't know SFO well enough to say. That is the type of information I was hoping to find out.

I'm pretty sure I had to change terminals going from San Diego to Vancouver via SFO two years ago. It seems to me there was an elevated train involved. If that is the case going from YVR to FLL, then there would be no chance of making the connection, I would think.

    Hi there:)

Last year we flew from Montreal and changed planes in SFO. We had to go to a different terminal and yes, we had to go through security again.

You'll never make it in 36 minutes.

  10. Excuse me if this off topic but I find the drinking water on Celebrity the most delicious water that I've ever had. I would also add that that it could be safer than bottled water. Bottled water doesn't have to be FDA approved.

  11. I am confused.

I've read a few posts where people have booked a guarantee. When assigned their cabin, they didn't like it. So, they say, that they were able to change the assigned cabin to another one in the same category. Naturally, only if other cabins were available in the same category.

Has this happened to you? I'd like to know. It would make a big difference to me.

  12. Just returned from the Celebrity Reflection. This was our second time doing select dining. We loved it! If we wanted a table for 2, we asked for it. If we wanted to join others, we said so. We had absolutely no problem and we met some lovely people.

I should add that we usually dined @ 20:30. Not sure if this made the difference or not.
