How long is the Muster drill video?
-
Thank you so much for the information in both of your posts. We will be doing 7 days RT L.A. going to Cabo, Mazatlan, PV, then back to L.A. Then 5 days RT L.A. (Cabo only), then 4 days RT L.A. going to San Diego and Ensenada. So South to North, then North to South, then South to North again, etc...😊

Thanks.

In 2 weeks, we will be doing the Mexican Riviera cruises on Princess for a total of 16 days, RT L.A. Will be visiting Cabo, Mazatlán, PV, Ensenada, and San Diego. How is the weather at those ports in early November? How about sea days? Don't know if we should pack mostly short sleeves or long sleeves T-shirts?

RAT testing before boarding
chubbypiggy replied to resordanis's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
I will definitely test in less than 24 hours before embarkation, since I am already staying in the hotel the day before embarking the ship. It is post from Resordanis who asked about the "one day" or "24 hours". What I did say was, I don't mind to be tested at the terminal again with a new test kit if the "proof" of the test that I did "within 24 hours" at the hotel was not acceptable. -

Thanks. Maybe soon, cruise lines will not require the testing anymore. -

I will bring several boxes of home test kits with me (flying in from U.S.) and plan to do the test at the hotel the day before the cruise. I will follow the instructions (photo of test kit result, Id, date on phone). If at cruise check-in, for whatever reason they don't accept my test, I wonder if I can just do another test right in front of the check-in person so he/she can see the result and let me embark? -

Excuse me if this is a dumb question, I have seen it several time in CC of the symbol "$A...". For example, your "$A150" means AUD 150? -
SYDNEY HOTEL March 2023
chubbypiggy replied to beatleman's topic in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
Yes, I still can't believe the low price that I booked. For a Deluxe Full Harbour view room (w/o breakfast), it is only AUD 585/night (so only about USD $375). We have stayed in Four Season hotels in other countries (for example, L.A., Maui, Hong Kong, etc.) all for USD $1,200+/night. -

Thanks for the nice reviews. When will your cruise end? Will you still be on the 10/29 cruise? -
Thanks.

Do you remember the total oz of the San Pellegrino? I was told Perrier is 11.15 oz. Thanks.

SYDNEY HOTEL March 2023

My apologies if I offended anyone! Honestly, I NEVER once think the world revolves around U.S. visitors!! I have stayed in many 5-star hotels around the world, and definitely came across some of those hotels' menus pricing in USD. The reason I asked was because Four Seasons is a 5-star hotel, and Mode Kitchen menu prices seem kind of low if they are priced in AUD; so I thought maybe the pricing is in USD. Sorry for the misunderstanding! -

I have many RAT home kits, and do plan to bring a few boxes. But I am not sure if I will be allowed to bring them in my carry on bag from U.S. to Australia. My friend told me Australia is very strict on what can be brought in. So I asked where to buy them by the hotel just in case my test kits not allowed at the airport. Thanks. -

SYDNEY HOTEL March 2023

My most sincere thank you to all of you for being so patience and answered so many of my questions!! I admit I do over-plan when ever DIY a country that I visit for the first time; mainly because I would like to have as few "unexpected" as possible. I am glad I booked my hotel and my flight. I will work on what to do at each port after I return from my 16-day Mexican Riviera cruise on the Discovery Princess which will start in about 2 weeks. There are 5 ports that we will visit on the Mexican cruise, and so far, I only planned DIY on the first port. Better work fast on the remaining ports. LOL For the cruise that will start in Sydney next April, it will be a 27-day cruise from Sydney to Los Angeles with 7 ports (3 NZ ports, Tahiti, and 3 Hawaii ports). Will be my first time to all 7 ports, so a lot of planning will need to be done. Stay safe and happy!! ☺️ -

Thank you GUT2407! 😊 -
Thanks. Hopefully, Discovery (in about 2 weeks) room service will allow me to exchange all to Perrier water.

SYDNEY HOTEL March 2023

Once again, a big thank you to all of you for the information and suggestions!! I summarized what I learned from all of you, please correct me if I misunderstood the information I collected. I decided and booked the Four Seasons Hotel, so the statements below are based on I staying at that hotel. 1. From the hotel to the OPT, it is about 500 meters (about 10 minutes walk) on flat ground. Can easily find the OPT without getting lost. 2. Airport is about 30 minutes taxi ride for about AUD $60. 3. There are convenient stores (where I can buy bottled water and snacks) within 10 minutes walking distance. 4. There are many casual eating places/restaurants within 10 minutes walking distance. 5. All listed price everywhere included taxes and charges and tips. If happy with service, give cash tips. 6. Credit cards are widely accepted with no minimum purchases required to use the card. Sorry, a few more questions: 1. My hotel confirmation indicated there will be a 2% service charge if pay with credit card. Is 1.5-2% service card a common practice everywhere in Sydney if pay with credit card? 2. Any store nearby that I can buy Rapid Antigen Test home kit? Princess requires RAT negative result within 24 hour of embarkation the ship; results from home test kit will be acceptable. 3. ATM nearby? If not, need to use the ATM at the airport. 4. At the airport (international arrival), is it a long walk to the location to get taxi? 5. Uber service available at the airport? If so, same pickup area as the taxis? At Los Angeles airport, Uber pickup is in a totally different area than taxi pickup, and a much longer walk to get there. Thank you!!
