  1. Thank you. I plan to send them an email also. Hopefully, if more people report the problem, they might work on it sooner. 🙂
  2. You called 1-833-907-3079 for the balance? Thank you.
  3. Thank you for the details. I checked, and PVP can be purchased up to final payment date.
  4. Do you know if PVP covers EZair refund if you decide to cancel your cruise under CFAR? Thanks.
  5. Sorry if my last post was confusing. I do not plan to ask my CVP regarding "other" insurance. I plan to ask him "after my niece cancels her insurance and lose all her payment, will my sister who will then cruise solo, will then need to pay additional money for the solo cabin?" It is a 12-day British Isle cruise. Cost is about $5000pp.
  6. I need to use about 21 cards ($500 each) for my final payment. I wonder if it is okay to do just 7 cards, then log off, then maybe an hour later, log in again to do another 7 cards, then log off again, and an hour later, log in again and do the remaining the 7 cards to pay off all the remaining balance?
  7. You are right, in her case, it is better to just buy Princess Platinum protection (they are both Platinum so will only need to pay 6% of cruise cost). Her final payment is mid-January, and cruise is mid-April. Due to staff shortage, niece's boss said he will not be able to approve vacation until 2-3 weeks before cruise start. Next week I will call my CVP to pay full payment for my next cruise, at that time, I will ask him how this cancelation works if one doesn't want to buy the Princess Platinum Protection. Majority of the time, I do not like to buy PVP, because most of my cruises are long cruises with many sea days. PVP's Emergency Medical Evacuation coverage amount is too small.
  8. Thank you for your reply. They plan to purchase non-Princess insurance. My sister said she is okay with losing all of my niece's full payment, because after all, she cancel her only 2 weeks before the cruise. What she mainly wants to know is: besides not getting any money refunded for her daughter's cabin fare, at the time of cancelation of my niece's cruise, will my sister have to pay additional money for now being solo in the cabin?
  9. I would like to get a better understanding of how cancellation of one person works. My sister and her daughter booked a cabin together and will buy non-Princess insurance together. They will make their final payment in about a week. My niece’s boss said she will not be able to approve my niece’s vacation until 2 weeks before the cruise starts. So, 2 weeks before the cruise started, my niece ended up not being able to go, but my sister still wants to go. Since my niece not going is not a medical reason, for sure she will not get reimbursed by the insurance company. I do know my niece will lose all her payment. Now that my sister will be solo in her cabin, will she have to pay additional money for being solo in the cabin? Or, since my niece loses all her payment, my sister will not need to pay additional for being solo in her cabin? After all, the total price of the cabin by 2 persons have been paid for. Thank you.
  10. I usually called my Princess CVP to apply the gift cards. This time I am thinking of doing it myself online. I read on CC that if applying more than 10 cards at a time, there might be a problem. Did you apply more than 10 cards at one time? Thanks.
  11. I hope Princess will fix the problem soon because I need to make final payment in 2 weeks and I bought a lot of gift cards for that cruise.
  12. Thank you for the explanation. I need to pay my final payment in 2 weeks, and just want to make sure all the cards still have the correct balance before I call my CVP to pay. Read on CC that many people experienced problem with card balance change to zero amount for unknown reason.
  13. I like to check my Princess gift cards balance about once a month to make sure everything is okay. Never had a problem in the past to check balances. Yesterday, I went to the Princess site, clicked on "Balance Inquiry", and instead of the "usual" screen asking for my gift numbers and pin, I got a screen with error message: HTTP ERROR 403, "The service you requested is restricted, not available to your browser". Tried on Chrome, Edge, and Firefox. All returned with the same message. Tried again today, and still the same error message. Any of you had the same problem? Thank you.
  14. Just got off the Diamond Princess about 3 weeks ago (did 2 cruises almost b2b). On embarkation day of my 1st cruise, I went to check out Izumi. Every day, between 12pm-1 pm, you can tour the place. That was a lady there who took us for a tour of the entire place and gave us pricing and options for different packages. You must be on the ship to purchase the passes. Hours are daily from 6 am-10 pm; closed 12pm-1pm. Only 6am-8am are non-clothing hours.
  15. In April, we did 27 days from Sydney to L.A. on Majestic Princess; really enjoyed the ship. Before our last 2 cruises (last month on the Diamond Princess in Japan), for 10+ years, we only cruised on Princess' Royal class ships and enjoyed it all. Then we did the Diamond Princess last month, a 7-day and a 9-day, and didn't enjoy it too much. Although the Diamond's mini suite total cabin size is similar to Royal class ships, but due to a bigger size of the uncovered balcony, the inside size is smaller. The bathtub is much narrower, so when taking shower, the shower curtain still touches the body. There is no IC. Can never find a table in the morning at the buffet. We like IC because if the buffet is crowded, then we can just grab an egg muffin and almond croissants to eat in the cabin. I can't believe for the entire 2 cruises, not once there were egg muffins served in the buffet. 😊 Overall, the food and service were not good compared to all my previous Princess cruises. Because of the experience of the Diamond Princess, we did hesitate to book the Coral cruise. But we really like the itinerary, and the decision breaking point is Coral having the IC, so we decided to give the non-Royal class ships another chance and booked the 32 days cruise.😄
  16. Thanks. This morning, we just booked their 32 days from Singapore to Los Angeles (10/17/24-11/17/24).
  17. Food section offers a lot of choices just like the Royal class ship’s IC? Coral IC also opens 24 hours? Here is a picture of IC food currently taken on the Majestic Princess.
  18. I see on the Coral Princess deck plan there is International Cafe on the Fiesta deck (deck 6). Is this IC similar to the IC on the Royal class ship where food available 24 hours or no food and just selling coffee?
  19. We never ordered the Elite canapés, but regardless which ship we are on during the last 10+ years, RS always delivered it to our cabin on formal night. They always looked yucky and we always threw them away.
  20. When she first got the upgrade 6 days ago, from the Princess email, she knew she was given cabin D404. Princess didn't send her another email notifying her of the cabin change. I noticed it yesterday when I checked her Princess account to make sure her stockholder OBC was credited. This morning I told her about her cabin change. She actually likes the new cabin location better, because now she is only 3 cabins away from our cabin. 😄 The reason for my original post was letting others know that even after you have been assigned a cabin from the bid acceptance, Princess can still change it.
  21. I just told her. All Reserved Collection cabins on the Diamond Princess are in the middle section on the Dolphin deck. So even she got the last cabin (aft) of catg. M1, it is still midship. Her cabin is D503, right next to regular mini suite (catg MB), a lower price category than hers.
