  1. I kind of doubt it. If that is true, then Princess will be constantly switching cabins that were already assigned for prior accepted bids as soon as a high bid comes in.
  2. I thought of that too. I thought maybe her originally assigned cabin can accommodate 4 persons and they moved her to a cabin that can only accommodate 3 persons so they can sell that 4-person cabin. So I checked the deck plan, and saw her original cabin can only accommodate3 persons, and her current cabin can only accommodate 4 persons. In her case, her cabin location can't get worst. Now I am concern for my cabin. My bid was accepted and I was assigned a mini-suite, catg MB, in a good location on Dolphin deck. I hope Princess will not change my cabin and give me a mini suite cabin on the Emerald deck in the aft, above Club Fusion.
  3. My friend received an email from Princess 5 days ago notifying her bid acceptance for the Reserved Collection Mini Suite (cruise will start in 3 weeks on Diamond Princess). She was given cabin D404, very good mid-ship. She called her CVP to ask him to mark the cabin as "No upgrade" because she really like the cabin location. Her CVP told her it is already marked as No Upgrade, and he said, once bid accepted and cabin assigned, there will be no further changes. She checked her booking daily. Today, she noticed her cabin has been changed from D404 to D503. which is 11 cabins more toward aft of the ship and it is the last cabin of the M1 (Premium mini suite) before the category change to catg MB. regular mini suite. She asked me if from now until her boarding, will the location of the cabin be changed again by Princess? I told her most likely not, because her cabin is already the worst location of the M1 category. So, it is not true that once assigned, Princess will no longer change your cabin.
  4. @ROCruiser Just finished watching your video on Tokyo 1-day visit (Ueno Park, etc). At the end of the video, you returned to Yokohama and said had dinner at the food court. Looks like there were a lot of small restaurants in the food court. Do you remember where is the food court? Is it in Yokohama station? If so, underground or ground level? Tomorrow I will watch your video for Yokohama. Do you have a video for Shibuya area? Our trip finally coming up. We will fly out next Tuesday. Thank you.
  5. My bid for balcony to mini suite was accepted about 2 weeks ago. I have friends in different cabins who bid for mini suite and Reserve Collection mini suite, and today they got their acceptance email that Princess accepted their Reserve Collection mini suite bids. If possible, we would like to eat together, so I am thinking of putting in a bid from my mini suite to RC mini suite. I log in to my Princess account and went to my booking, and click on "Upgrade bid" on the screen. And the screen returned with "Upgraded to mini suite". Is it not possible to bid for higher category once you already received the bid acceptance for one time?
  6. Just checked. For my Diamond Princess cruise in less than 2 weeks, when I clicked on "view", I still got a blank screen (been showing blank screen for 1+ month). For my cruise starting in 26 days, of the 5 port, 2 ports blank screens, 2 ports in Japanese, and only the Otaru port is working (not blank screen and in English).
  7. It is the Daiwa Roynet Hotel - Koen. Very nice 3-star hotel, convenient to metro station, Chinatown, and cruise pier. https://www.daiwaroynet.jp/yokohama-koen/
  8. Thank you Ken. We will be leaving for our 2 Diamond Princess cruises in about 2 weeks. Again, I want to thank you for your thread on your Diamond Princess cruises and your answers to my questions on that thread. Truly enjoyed your thread and all the details/Patters really helped my planning. Just curious, on top of the sink, did you get bar soaps or liquid soap? I think there are still a few Princess ships that give bar soaps. I prefer liquid soap.
  9. I am asking this question for a friend. For her cruise coming up in a month, she currently has a mid-ship balcony on Diamond Princess. She put in 2 bids; one for mini suite, and one for Club class mini suite. If she gets lucky and Princess notifies her of accepting her mini suite bid, does she then need to go to her booking to cancel the Club class mini suite bid? She said she really prefers the regular mini suite over the Club class, because she wants to eat with her friends (in regular mini suites). The reason she placed 2 bids is to increase her chance of getting a mini suite. So if her bid for the mini suite is accepted, she doesn't want to take a chance later on Princess might accept her Club class bid.
  10. I agree. Many years ago we tried it and didn't like it. We are Elites and those canapés are free on formal nights. Supposedly it should be delivered only if I requested. I never requested it, but they still delivered it every time. My friend asked that question, so I posted it for her.
  11. She is thinking of doing the minimum bid, $400pp for the first 2 persons. 9 days cruise. Her original bid from balcony to mini suite was $300pp (same as all of us). So total, she will be paying $200 more than her original bid that was declined because of her credit card. She said she doesn't mind to pay additional $200 (total $800) for a mini suite and to be on the same deck with us.
  12. Here is my friend's question on the Canapes. The descriptions of the Club Class Mini Suite says " Evening Canapés, Nibble on masterfully-crafted canapés delivered directly to your stateroom. Upon request". Is that consider room service and need to pay $5 each time I request evening canapes? Thank you.
  13. Good memory. ☺️ Yes, there will be 9 of us in 4 cabins on Diamond Princess (sailing soon). All four cabins we did a bid upgrade from mid-ship balcony to mini-suites. Bids for 3 cabins were accepted and 1 cabin declined (my friend recently lose her credit card she used for the bid, and got a new replacement card. She totally forgot to change the credit card info on her bid until she received an email from Princess notifying her card was declined). And she is the one who really wants the mini suite because she has 3 persons for her cabin. She replied to Princess "decline" email with her new credit card info., but now it says "mini suite" unavailable. I think on the day that all of us got notifications that our bids were accepted, Princess already given out all the mini suites. She just checked, and noticed her booking can still submit for "club class mini suite". She is thinking of bidding for that. Mainly she wants a mini suite for the 3 of them, and also wants to be on the same deck with all of us. Most likely she will not take advantage of the dining in the reserved room, because she wants to eat with all of us. She asked me the questions on the wine and the canapes, so I posted the questions for her.
  14. The descriptions of the Club Class Mini Suite says " Evening Canapés, Nibble on masterfully-crafted canapés delivered directly to your stateroom. Upon request". Is that consider room service and need to pay $5 each time I request evening canapes? Thank you.
  15. Thank you! That is nice. I didn't think they will give half opened bottle; but then I wondered why the description can't just state "a bottle" of each, and list the volume of just 50% of "regular" size? Would you happen to know what kind of white/red wine do they give?
