  1. RNRcruisers, Can you tell me what night had the lobster in MDR? Going on Regal in couple weeks and 10 yr old grandson looking forward to it. Thank you.
  2. How long did it take to get into international waters, to be able to get an alcoholic drink? Does that apply to sodas too? We have the Plus Package.
  3. Can you tell me how long it took to get into international waters? We leave from Galveston on Regal next year and I know the kids will be wanting sodas. We do have the Plus Package.
  4. We are interested in a Bosphorus cruise tour, that ends at 4:30 pm. We need to be back on ship by 6:00. It looks like we need to take a tram to/from port to meeting place. Then I understand it’s a long walk back through the terminal. I believe we are the only ship in port that day. We are not very fast walkers. Anyone do a tour like this or think we could get back in time?
  5. I read that the new cruise terminal takes a long time to walk through after getting off cruise ship. Our ship just rescheduled arrival at 10:00 vs 9:00. We had reserved a boat excursion whereby they say the latest they now could pick us up, at the dock is 10:40. Is this doable? Thanks.
  6. That’s exactly what happened to me too, just the other day.. I have more OBC than DH and when I booked a couple excursions, I had leftover and he had none. And had to put the remainder of his on CC. I also thought in the past it was combined. I guess I made the mistake of using their chat service instead of calling direct to ask, and answer is that since it’s in my name, only I could use it. I still have a couple more excursions we may book, so I’ll call Princess direct and hope that person knows the answer.
  7. This may be a silly question, but since never having experienced this situation, I have to ask. ( and don’t see any posts regarding) We will be on a 21 day Med cruise r/t Rome with a stop in Athens and another in Barcelona whereby new or existing passengers will be arriving or leaving. Since this is obviously not just a pier stop but one involving a terminal, my question is: when I want to leave the ship to go explore the city, do I just exit like one does at a port stop or is there something different that takes place for those stops? And then returning to the ship, do I go through security and scanning in the terminal? Then? Thanks for any help.
  8. Thank you so much cruisemom42 and marazul! So very helpful.
  9. First off, thank you to everyone on these boards with the advice you give us “newbies”. With that said, my hubby and I are now booked on our first Med cruise. We fly into Rome 2 days pre-cruise (actually more like 1 1/2 by time get to city center Rome hotel). Our 2 must sees are the Colossium, and St. Peter’s Square and Basilica (not necessarily the museum). If time permits, the Trevi fountain. We are early 70’s, still able to walk, albeit more slowly nowadays. We are staying at the Hotel Smeraldo and had planned to walk, if feasible, to these sites. Can anyone suggest if this is possible and in what order/timeframe can it be done. Or any other comments with do’s and dont’s. Anxious but excited! Oh forgot, will be there this July. Thank you.
  10. We are both in early 70’s and still mobile but not actively, no walkers, etc. Looking at taking a 21 day R/T Rome with 15 ports. Never having been to Europe, although we have cruised many times, do you think this is too much? Considering the cost of airfare from the US, and not sure how long we will be able to travel, thought maybe this a good way to taste all the big cities in case we can’t later on. Any suggestions or criticisms? Thank you.
  11. We would like to drive from Ohio to New York’s Brooklyn Cruise Terminal, staying one night pre-cruise, but avoid driving around the city (don’t like to drive in big cities not familiar with) plus heavy hotel costs with their parking fees. Thinking of perhaps staying at a hotel maybe an hour away and then drive to port and park there the next morning. Could anyone give us a suggestion where to stay that would give us the least stressful way to drive to the port? Already looked into flying and staying near port and not fond of that option. Would this even be a realistic approach?
  12. We are. Thank you for that information. Very helpful.
  13. Flying into LGB the day before and looking to stay at airport hotel then Uber next day to World Cruise Terminal. Thinking of the Hampton Inn Long Beach Airport. Anyone stayed there?
  14. My TA didn't ask me if I wanted upgrade. Is it marked on my reservation somewhere?

    Free WiFi

Is there any place near or around the Kings Wharf cruise dock to find free WiFi?
  16. Since I can’t find a local drug store or facility that offers FREE pre-cruise travel Covid testing anymore, I’ve had to resort to paying for those online monitored test kits each time we cruise. Has anyone had any luck getting reimbursed? I don’t think Medicare does for those, only the self test kits.
  17. I am currently Ruby but part way through my next cruise, I will haven enough days to become Platinum. Will I be able to use Platinum benefits for the rest of cruise?
  18. Thank you to all for your comments! You’ve already made me (us) feel more comfortable. We are going to do it! Hope to meet those that are also going.
  19. My husband and myself are considering taking the Crown Princess 28 day Hawaii/South Pacific cruise. We are frequent cruisers, mainly the Caribbean (not been on Princess for many years though). We’ve never sailed for more than 14 days. He is 72 and I will turn 70 on debarkation day. Tahiti especially has been on my bucket list for a looong time. So thought we’d splurge for my birthday. We are not rich by any means, nor have we traveled the world like many we’ve met. I’m thinking that the clientele of people we meet may make us feel inferior? We are rather shy and not good at starting up a conversation, like at dinner, so wondering if we will feel out of place.
