  1. Yes, expand your horizons and go for it! I try all kinds of different foods on cruise...that's what so nice. If you don't like it, you put it aside and try something else, or take just a bit to taste - I added that last part for all those that go bonkers over not cleaning your plate no matter how much you don't like it or how full you already are.

Tried pickled herring on a cruise and loved it for breakfast. Went home and got a jar of it....didn't taste nearly as good as on the ship with all of that fresh sea air and no work awaiting me.

Enjoy - by the way, I hope when I said 'expand your horizons', about trying new foods, it doesn't lead to 'expanding' your waistline!

I was raised on pickled herring, and lox and bagels. It definitely is an acquired taste...and I love it!

  2. I really enjoy it for lunch. Aside from the printed menu, you can "build your own crepe". Add veggies, cheese, etc. Along with the crepes, there is a salad or soup, and then you order a dessert crepe. Very, very good.

  3. We had 9162 aft CC cabin on Millie in the Med. in May. We booked that cruise while on Summit Alaska Repo cruise in May '04. DH was sick when the confirmation for our Millie in May cruise was delivered to the cabin because the "future cruise coordinator" booked us in "one of those awful back cabins" (sic). (He was still smarting from the soot that fell on him while on our first Med. cruise on Rembrandt (may she RIP) while we were standing at the rear of the top deck enjoying a drink - it WAS pretty bad and ruined a new shirt.)

I on the other hand was ecstatic! He tried for a year to get me to have the reservation changed to a side CC - but I held firm.

He now worships at my feet! He can't stop talking about that aft cabin in the Med. He never wanted to leave the cabin. And - what's worse - he's broken hearted that we haven't been able to land an aft cabin for the future cruises we have booked.

The only noise I noticed was the guitar player on deck 10 above us - and I'd not really call that noise - as he was very good and we so enjoyed relaxing on the huge veranda after a long day on shore - enjoying a bottle of wine and listening to the musician.

Don't let go of this cabin - you'll have a wonderful time!

Wow...worships at your feet...so that's the secret. I may have hit the jackpot...we have aft cabins on our next 3 cruises.

But I'm just content to be cruising anywhere, so the cabin is the icing on our cake...

  4. "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" by IZ is one of my favorites also...I heard it the first time in a shop in Hilo, Hawaii. We were on Mercury (2001), and found this CD wonderful. I play it in my car when I need my "Hawaii Fix"!!

We'll be back there on the Summit next Jan. and I plan to visit that shop again.
