  1. There are substantial differences on the issues of when and how much to tip over and above the gratuities that O automatically applies to your shipboard account. O's automatic gratuity for a suite with a butler is $23 per person per day, about $8 pp pd more than staterooms without butlers.
  2. The $1500 deposit policy applies to Extended Voyages (any combo of b2bs that is not long enough to classify as a Grand Voyage (O has really confused these terms) as well as Grand Voyages. I just paid one. If your SA cruise does not consist of two or more segments, it might be only $750 pp, but I wouldn't rely on a travel site for an up-to-date answer. I would ask the TA who would be doing the booking. (I don't like surprises 🙈)
  3. I agree with Lynn. It's not as simple as the web site you quote. Deposit amount is based on cruise length as is the due date of the final payment, and there is an adminstrative penalty that take effect 30 days before the final payment date. Deposit for 15 or more days is $1500 pp. Cancellation penalties set in at 180 days.
  4. Yes. But notify the butler in advance so he/she can work it into his/her schedule. I think that both of you have to order from the same specialty...no mix and match, as that would be a nightmare for the butler.
  5. Some things to keep in mind: You need to each drink about 4 cocktails a day at full price to break even. If you have wine, glasses are marginally cheaper than cocktails, but the packages do not include upgraded wines. There are daily 2 4 1 happy hours in the lounges daily from 5 to 6 pm. There is usually a Captain's reception during which drinks are free. We go through the calculations and find for us that our bar bill is typically cheaper than the packages. Convenience of the packages is one thing folks like, but that is not important to u. So our experience may not represent yours, but I offer it for thought.
  6. Not all PHs are midship. Check the deck plans for your ship on O's web site. There are 4 speciality, restaurants on The O ships (Riveria and Marina). In addition to the 3 you mentioned thereis a steakhouse. PH's get a higher priority for making advance reservation than staterooms in lowere categories, but lower priority compared to named suites (a higher category). The limit of 2 reservations per speciality restaurant applies only to the advance reservations. Once on board you can request more. Success depends on availability and your flexibility. https://oceaniacruises.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360005477653-How-many-dining-reservations-am-I-allowed-in-each-specialty-restaurant- https://oceaniacruises.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360005477713-When-can-I-make-reservations-in-the-specialty-restaurant-
  7. Just remember that the upgrade option only unlocks access to streaming. It has the same speed as the basic package.
  8. Yes, O accepts KN95, FFP2 as well as N95 masks, but my question was about Lufthansa's requirements, as well as other European airlines. US airlines no longer have a mask mandate. but arriving airports may.
  9. And folks think food is subjective 🙃 ☕
  10. Were KN95 masks acceptable, or did they have to be N95's only?
  11. At home, Seattle's Best #4 (6th Avenue Bistro - Organic), ground. Cruising - Never tried coffee in the GDR. Our caffeine intake is typically confined to breakfast in the stateroom. Although there have been exceptions, we find it generally fine for our tastes.
