I appreciate the reply. We sail on Carnival and Princess (Holland as well, though they don't honor the OBC situation-I have been told) quite often.  I wanted the stock strictly for the OBC.

    Holland does honour shareholder obc.

Got it for 1 cruise last year

And 2 more upcoming in may

  2. The other question I have, how late in the booking process can they hijack your room.

If you booked 2 years out and a family of 4 wants your room 2 weeks out.

    How far is that.

Once final payment is made. Rooms should be locked in

And yes, if you were told, it should appear on the booking.

If you booked before the policy change. You should not lose your room

We know hal reads these boards, hopefully, they will clarify this

    Also, they have stats

This policy should only apply on cruises with more families ( summer, 7 days)

@RuthC thank you. Found it at bottom of page 2.

I had only sent page 1

I will highlight the number and try again

    Will keep everyone posted

( Learning curve for all of us )

    Success.

    Stockperk approved today

I have now sent my request to carnival.

    Great teamwork everybody.

    Thank you

  4. It tried this many years ago

Was arriving greyhound at Port authority

I took a bus to hobokan, and then gave up and took a cab

I thought it was just me

Talking to somebody on the ship

Person was a local from new jersey.

I was asked " but how did you get from Manhattan to here,'.

It felt like an American race.

    Since I am from Montreal,

On the way home, I had met a nice couple from Burlington

Asked them if they would drop us in Albany.

Saved about 6 hours getting home that day.

I know this does not help you

But lesson learnt, I would not have booked a departure from cape liberty.

I have since discovered Yankee trails and it is a game changer.

  5. I use the proxy voter card.

It worked twice before when requested via email.

    .

Yesterday, I saw that I could now request for Nov cruise

    Used stockperk app

Uploaded a pic of the proxy card

Got the mail ( btw, it says 2 business days) so am not expecting anything before Wednesday.

Agree, the value would be higher as cruisers like me that are booked Aug to dec are now submitting requests

The rush, I prefer to get it done and remove from my ' to do' list

  6. Do you have pics of the rough seas.

A few years Back, I was on azamera doing a transatlantic crossing.

Had we kept course, we would have been going though hurricane Ian

Captain took us as far south as he could

But since the cruise was ending in montreal, he did have to head back north to the mouth of the st Lawrence.

    It was quite a ride

He kept saying , you know, captains get a bonus if they save fuel

" My bonus is long gone".

But what matters most is comfort and safety

What we usually do is to drive to Albany the day before the cruise...spend the night in an area hotel...and hop on a Yankee Trails bus in the morning...arrive at the Manhattan Cruise terminal around 10:30 am and are usually boarding around 11:30 am works well for us.

    BTW Hi neighbor! 🙂

I am from Montreal and do the same

    Love sailing out of nyc

  8. I would stop as you go

Depending on how much time you have

When you are ready to turn around and come back, you will be less stressed on the timeline

When we did it, we went about halfway and then came back
