Only discount showing for me is 20% which I think is our Elite + discount or am I misunderstanding?  It's been 20% since I booked the cruise months ago.  If everyone else has the 20% discount, I wonder if I should pursue the E+ discount with X?

That’s all I was seeing till this morning.  We are also elite +

  2. We are wine drinkers and appreciate the quality Reidel glasses on board.  Check next time and you’ll see a small etched line in the glass signifying a 5 oz pour.  There is no danger of spillage if they make it a 9-10 oz pour.   Even the smaller white glasses I would estimate hold about 16-18 oz.

  3. Recently on Silhouette we found a few friendly servers who had no problem pouring us a double, including wine, when we asked.  We both had the premium bev package.  Then one day at a different bar, new server, we asked for a double pour chardonnay and she told us this was not allowed.  Okay but we said we hadn’t had an issue around the ship all week.  She said she would be reporting this to the bar manager.  Needless to say we didn’t return to this bar or server.  I can’t though figure out why it would matter.  Pour me a double or pour me a second one shortly after the first that I’ll consolidate into one glass which is easier to stroll with.   Anyone have views or experience on this?

So even with the $12/pp fare, you may have to wait for others going to the hotel?

In this case to the pier but yes you may have to wait for it to be filled.

We love it there. We have stayed 4 times.  We  grab a taxi. I am not waiting on others.  Quick and easy with many restaurants near by.

We were there last week.  Agree re shuttle.  It was $12 pp. They were strongly suggesting it.  We had called a cab.  Cab was $22 with tip and we were onboard quickly.

  6. I’m organizing an extended family cruise including with some first timers.  It would be awesome if we were able to get on for a helipad sailaway.  I know access is limited and by invitation only.  Any suggestions who I should speak to on board to help with this ?   Captains club host?  We are Elite Plus so maybe that will help.

Just be aware that there are 2 methods of conveyance that the cruise lines use on these excursions.

One is on a covered barge type boat with plastic lawn chairs for seating. One is on a sailing catamaran, as pictured.

The descriptions ahead of time are vague / deceptive on  which one you are getting.  You can't blame the call center agents, they probably don't have the complete info either.

In your case, I might be concerned that the $69 is on the barge, the $110 is on the sailing catamaran.

You'll have a nice trip either way. It's my favorite thing to to in St Lucia.

If you can get 10 ppl together, Mystic Man is a great alternative to the ship cattle calls. They have a nice (not luxury) catamaran to sail down there, and serve drinks and lunch along the way. $88 or so.

I understand there are two options.  The other excursion is listed as well and its indicated its on a "powerboat"  As I said, my main enquiry related to what we had experienced in the past and the significant increase in price.  I feel like the call centre agent simply went on the website and confirmed that it was $110 as I had indicated, and did not actually check into my specific enquiry.  We have done this coastal cruise to the pitons for years and always enjoyed it.

  8. Just following up on my post.  Captains Club replied basically telling me that $110 was the correct price, they don’t know why it doubled, they were sorry I was disappointed and wished me a pleasant day .  Today the sale is over, and the price is $69 ....   I realize errors can be made but did they even look into it .....   I’m booking today at that price.

  9. We have done this excursion several times and enjoyed it.  The last time we did it was November 2018 and we paid $59 per person.  I see it is "on  sale" now for $110 per person.  I have written to Celebrity to ask if this is an error of some kind.  Perhaps they have a new shore partner but there's no way its worth that kind of $$.   We are going again in March and I had intended to book this but not at that price.

  10. Thanks for all this information.  We are on Reflection in the Baltics in July and this week I've been busy reserving all our tours.  We are booked with SPB for the 2 day grand tour in St. Petersburg, and in Stockholm as well.  For Copenhagen and Helsinki we  have booked Stromma for the HOHO combo bus/boat tours in both places.  A bit apprehensive about meeting spots, distances, how to get from pier to town, etc. but hope all will become clear once we get there.  I have read about different piers being used by different ships and some of it seems to depend on volume of traffic, etc. so hard to always know in advance.

    Love your reporting style.

  11. There will be several ships in port when we disembark.  We plan to walk off as early as possible and get a cab to FLL.  Any other advice re pre booking a ride service or ways to get out efficiently, recognizing the airport will also be a zoo.

  12. I agree with one putt.  Prices are getting more than we’re willing to pay.  Love Celebrity and love cruising but ...

we booked  a month or so ago 9 night Silhouette for November 22/19.  Price for Concierge was $5700 Cdn incl 2 perks.  Today for the cabin next door which is still available, price is $7200 Cdn with two perks.

We booked Reflection for March 2020 while on board Reflection in November 2018. Price is $3700 US for go best (4 perks). Today with 2 perks price is $5200 US.

Thanks...it was really a bad disembarkation, but probably MUCH worse for those following us.  Most likely you were at the front of the walk off line?  As I said, there were many cruisers with many luggage pieces in front of us all the way to the top of the line.

Your experience is what I had read about and feared.  We now always try to do walk off and will continue to do so.  I believe I also read that the new Pier 25 (I think ...?) May be better but you disembarked at Pier 18 I believe.  I will monitor this until our next cruise in November!
