  1. That's the problem. People book and tie up staterooms because they're unsure if they want to do the cruise. It's not good for those of us who book because we're sincere about the itinerary. I've seen people post they have x amount of cruises booked and will decide if they want to take them. Granted, there are truly valid reasons why some people cancel. I think in the future, if this continues, we'll all get charged a cancellation fee.

I only book cruises I intend to take. But I'm not ready to tie up $900 for 20 months and I'm only willing to take this cruise if the price comes down. We sail the Caribbean every November for 10-14 days. I won't pay $500 per day. But now I have a prime cabin booked, and when a sale comes I'm happy with I will lock in with a "true" deposit then. I viewed this $1 deposit offer almost like a hold, but lasts longer than 24 hours.

  2. I am Elite in both lines, and probably have a slight preference for Celebrity. That said, Princess has a one day sale today for a $1 deposit on future bookings. I have two Princess cruises booked but am looking for a 10 day Caribbean cruise for November 2018. I booked today on the Crown Princess, a premium balcony, total cost is about $5480 Canadian for the cabin. No extra perks included. I plan to watch prices and perks sales and lock in when I see a deal I like.

Checked Celebrity tonight and I can get a 10 night on the Reflection in a sunset veranda with drink pkg and $300 obc for the same price.

I thought that was interesting as I had always paid more on Celebrity. I will be watching both carefully, and hoping Celebrity comes out with a $25 deposit offer.

  3. We love Mast Grill burgers too, but wouldn't pay for them. Not to mention they would, imho, need to seriously revamp the area to provide much more and covered seating. I don't mind having to take it to the Oceanview or back to my room but if I have to pay I would expect appropriate comfortable seating.

  4. Yes they are identical. We were just in 6292 (starboard side) and it was great. The minor obstruction didn't bother us at all and balcony was bigger.

  5. We got off Equinox April 24. Ship and staff are excellent. I'll be watching your review. We especially enjoyed a fabulous evening in Silk Harvest with our waiter Jujar. Our MDR waiter arranged it and got us a discount. We are still full, and dreaming of orange chicken [emoji51]

  6. I am from Canada. Am considering purchasing some OBC to use on port stops for my upcoming cruise. Exchange rate is very favourable. Can I cash in OBC on board for cash ?

  7. Ok, but the limits aren't any different then before are they? Just that now you can pay the difference on some drinks vs the whole fee on the old system,

Just looked online and it now looks like it's fountain sodas only on the classic package, oh well for me I guess it's not an issue as I think this makes the premium upgrade charge even more of a great deal, 5 can a day habit sorted & covered [emoji23][emoji106]🏻

I think the limits are the same but they have raised the price of some offerings (eg Baileys) so they are no longer included in the Classic package. You have to pay the up charge or decide if you want to upgrade your package to Premium.

  8. In December we stayed at the Hilton Marina. We notified the bellman we (2 persons) needed a 3:30 cab to the airport the next morning (flight at 5:45 a.m.) No problem, and in fact when we went down to the front desk there were others people doing the same thing. Bellman arranged for some kind of van, seven of us with luggage were taken to the airport and dropped at various terminals. I personally would have preferred a cab as I don't like having to pay per person, but it worked out fine. Speak to the bellman the day/evening before.

  9. Hi,

Could you tell me if the mast grill is serving the thick "Celebrity" Hamburger or is it the thin "soy filled" hamburger?

I was on the December sailing and we were surprised by the burgers at the Mast Grill. The burgers changed and it was a thin burger with a weird consistency and with soy fillers (it tasted like soy). My husband talked to the Food and Bev Manager about it when he approached us to inquire about our cruise and he admitted that they changed the suppliers for the burgers. The feedback he got about the burgers were not good and he said they would go back to the old burgers in early 2017.

Oh no! We love the burgers at the grill. We are on Equinox in two weeks so I hope they have changed by then.

  10. Hi. We are a group of six, with an overnight stop in St Maarten on the Equinox. On the first day we arrive at 3 pm. If we want to go into philipsburg for a couple of hours only I know water taxi $6-7 pp. How much for a van/taxi? I'm thinking it might be more cost effective and quicker. We have a tour booked with Bernard for day 2.

  11. Hi all. I've looked but haven't been able to find anything on this. I currently have two Princess bookings (both on the Grand). Its been a number of years since sailing Princess.

One of the trips I have a "B4" (aft on Caribe deck).

The other I have a "BD". I have been looking to change/upgrade this to another cabin, which is a B2.

What are the differences in Princess' categories - is B2 higher or lower than B4? Is BD higher or lower than B2 or B4. Not sure why some have numbers and some have letters .... Tough to compare or when trying to upgrade or change cabins not sure what would be considered equivalent... If there are no B2 cabins available does that mean that category is sold out, and if so what would be considered a higher level? Are there B1s...?

    Thanks.
