  1. We are coming to SF late October for four days pre-cruise. We have booked a one day semi-private tour to Muir Woods and wineries. Am so sorry to hear about the fire devastation, and thinking of all those impacted. But... am also looking for any advice from locals. We really want to do this but if its not possible, will look to book something else. Any insight or tips from locals or experts would be welcome. On Trip Advisor people are telling folks to cancel any/all bookings (usually referring to hotels I think) and to stay away from the area.

    TIA

  2. We just got back from Mazatlan on the Carnival Miracle' date=' and walked to Stone Island from the cruise terminal. It was very easy. We did go to Lety's restaurant. The waiter there offered us a number of activities they could supply (banana boat, ATV rental, Kayak...). We rented kayaks from them (200 pesos per kayak for more than 2 hours). They kept our personal belongings safe for us while we were out kayaking. After kayaking we enjoyed some very delicious cheap margaritas.[/size']

I would highly reccomend it. To help people out I made 2 versions of a tiny little map to print out:

Great maps thanks. Can you provide an approximate distance/time required to get from 1-5?

  3. The exchange tied to your booking is what is tied to everything else that is prepurchased with that booking. If you refare or cancel your current booking and rebook then everything prepurchased for this booking would be at the new exchange rate of 1.20. Prepurchased beverage package, coffee cards, prepaid gratituties, OBC, casino credits would all be 1.20.

I didn't know that. I'll lose $400 obc and a specialty dinner from princess if I rebook, but it's still a good savings. Will have to mull it over.

  4. I cannot see how any Princess ship would be able to operate two different beverage package programs based upon purchase date. They have enough difficulty correctly operating one, much less two different sets of rules and prices. I have to say I think the CSR jwattle spoke to was (sadly) making it up as she went along.

I thought the same thing. A bartender on board is not going to be tasked to ask guests when or how they purchased their package. I also am hopeful that once the bars all start running out of 500 ml bottles of water they'll substitute with 1l bottles.

  5. Don't wish to hi jack but we are also trying to figure out where to get dropped off at Kaanapali beach. Looking for chair rentals, food, drinks, restrooms close by and great beach. Suggestions welcome !

  6. So to be sure I understand this - I have booked and paid for an excursion on our upcoming Hawaii cruise. Obc has now been added to our account. I'd like to call Princess and cancel the original reservation, get a refund on my credit card, and re book using obc. No problem ? We have drinks and tips prepaid already so I want to ensure not to leave obc behind. And related question, can I get cash back from obc onboard?

  7. Well today is the first time I have seen the new Celebrity web page. I have looked everywhere & I still cannot find the drop down menu that was previously there to get Cdn rates. I have always used an IPad but no drop down for any country anymore. Anyone out there that can help me.

I also use an iPad. I found it at the very bottom of the page. A seemingly misplaced UNITED STATES and a small arrow. Click that and the other choice is Canada.

  8. Josie2, I see your on that Oct. 29 RollCall Spreadsheet. I was on the same cruise with Mark and ran into them at the Spam Jam Festival. His review is SPOT on and he does take great photos. Stan

Good to know. We did this cruise 10 years ago. I know the Grand is a bit older (we were on the Diamond in 2007) but looking very much forward to Hawaii, and the crossing.
