  1. So looking forward to your review as we board the Seashore on the 6th for our first MSC cruise!
  2. You may wear your own robe or swim suit cover up and not change in the locker rooms. The locker room on The Breakaway was very nice with lots of privacy. Also, the employees told us we could take the provided robes back to our cabin if we liked! And we did
  3. I really enjoyed looking at the sea and not being blown away by the wind! We saw whales! Just so cool!
  4. Yes, my husband napped well cuz he had his earbuds in listening to music! I just wanted to read:) Honestly the loudest noise was the huge waterfall feature they had in the pool. It would turn off and everything was peaceful but every 10 or 15 minutes it would start again! When it would turn on those having quiet conversation than had to raise thier voice to hear each other! Our first and only time in the spa, I was expecting more zen like atmosphere 🙌 Still glad we did it as our weather was on the cool side
  5. We had the thermal spa pass the first week of Sept on The Breakaway, we really enjoyed it but on sea days it was very noisy and crowded. Many windows the vapor seal were gone so you couldn't see thru them blocking your view of the ocean and whales! The heated tile loungers were ok, my husband enjoyed them more than I did. I found it hard to read a book with the angle of the head rest. There were saunas, steam rooms, salt room and rain showers The pool and hot tubs were nice but they are in the same area as the loungers so each time they turned on it broke your silent peaceful relaxing time. This was the first time we have booked the spa, our cruise was New England and Canada and we knew had two sea days, easy ports and possibly poor weather. We did used it daily and enjoyed it but most likely won't do it again. Unless we book another cruise that isn't port intensive. PS: last day of our cruise, a sea day the weather was rough and the pools and hot tubs were emptied in the spa and outside. Many people complained to the poor employees working the area, good grief! Like they have control over the weather and what the Captains feels is needed for safety!
  6. We also never got into Syd Norman's, too crowded. People were lining up an hour before and we opted not too. One night did walk by Howl at the Moon and there were plenty of seats, sat down for a few minutes and left pretty quickly as they weren't that good compared to others we have seen. O'Sheehan's is always hit and miss for us but still a nice option!
  7. Thank you HenGypsy but it was @annettesc who planned the M&G and did the cute goodie bags! I was there and visited with the group for a while but Annette did all of the work! We really had a great time on this cruise, well I should say we have had a great time on all of our cruises! 😂 Yes each one has had some hiccups and little annoying things but we always make the best and have a great time! Life is too short to stress the little things!
  8. My problem with trying to book the show was my dinner reservation time conflicted with the show time, even thou my dinner reservation was 90 minutes before the show it wouldn't allow me to book the show. Once on board we changed dinner to be 15 minutes earlier and than we could make the show reservations
  9. We were also on this same sailing and had a wonderful time too! We walked up three different times to Shanghai Noodle Bar without reservations and got seated all three times right away! Excellent food but you are right next to the Casino and all of the smoking.
  10. you can cancel onboard, this way it opens up a spot for others
  11. My opinion is they are spoiled and annoying youtubers, and they don't like NCL We enjoy youtube videos to get visuals and suggestions, we pay no attention to the negatives as one persons negative might be another persons positive! I can't imagine videoing my entire vacation, seems to take away too much of your vacation time. I did a live review a few weeks ago which I enjoyed but also felt guilty if I didn't respond quick enough to questions. I was also able to have wifi in all ports so didn't have to struggle with it. Bobby, enjoy your cruise! And Go BIll's!
  12. We were early to NYC a few weeks ago and we were able to board at 10:45 am! No real need to other than being excited! Wandered around, made a few reservation changes and had lunch at the MDR. Nice and relaxing! Our rooms were called at 1:00 pm and our luggage was there! Very relaxing way to start our cruise!
  13. Thank you! He uses his hotspot on NCL with no problems but I notice MSC is different so just wanted to make sure were all set! Thanks for your help, and we are so looking forward to our MSC cruise!
  14. Hi Jamie So my question about wifi pertains to using a hotspot, my husband needs to use his laptop one day of our cruise for work. But he will want to have his cell phone connected to the wifi the rest of the time. So if I understand you correctly, he can use his cellphone for his wifi than his cell's hotspot to connect his laptop to do his work real quick and this should work and not cost us more? He has Verizon and a Pixel. Thank you for your help!
  15. Thank you Eric for your review! We will be on The Seashore the second week in October, never been on MSC either so very interested in your thoughts!
  16. On The Breakaway two weeks ago the waiter made sure to let us know with our Platinum coupons that we could only have one appetizer, one entree and one dessert per person or there would be an upcharge.
  17. We were there two weeks ago on a cruise and had booked with Paul from https://halifaxtitanictours.ca/ where he spent a great deal of time discussing this event and showing us many markers thru out our drive, some pieces of metal flew over 3 miles from the explosion and they were left where they fell with a marker. I mean big pieces of metal! 3, 4, 5 feet long! I didn't find a map but here is a picture of one of those markers
  18. The line to get in was crazy last week!
  19. We have been on many NCL ships before but on The Breakaway two weeks ago my husband felt under dressed at Ocean Blue, he was wearing his typical resort casual of long khaki's and a button down shirt. He wished he had brought dress slacks, as many men were in sports coats. With that being said, all other meals he felt comfortable, including The Manhattan Room as we saw shorts and t-shirts on men often. And several men who did not remove their baseball caps! Which we frown on but it seems to be allowed more and more often.
  20. Some ports you will have to pay tax, I believe it was only in NYC for your cruise and it's not much. And in some ports only one bar per deck was allowed to be open
  21. Yes, strong hairdryer under the desk area, that way someone can take a shower while someone else is doing their hair! If you want a coffee maker just ask room room steward and they will bring one! Extra hangers also, and if you want to use the frig for your own stuff you can ask them to empty it for you as the stuff in it is not included in your Free at Seas promo. Bed is high enough to put your empty luggage under and out of the way, there are also two drawers under the couch with extra towels and extra bedding material or more storage. No USB by the bed, but there is an American and a European outlet on the desk, in order to keep lights on in the cabin you need to out your room key in the slot but when you leave and take your key out the power is cut off so things like phones won't be charging while you are gone so don't forget to plug them in when you are sleeping! Bring binoculars to for while you are hanging out on your balcony! Have fun and Go Bill's!
