1. Have done private excursion to Stone Island. Included transport to and from, 2 activities you choose from kayaking, horseback riding, banana boat, cart ride and one more. I loved it...but when I did the banana boat ride I managed to get water in my ear and got a major infection as the water is not the most pure. If you do go in the water take earplugs, first ear infection I ever got in over 60 years! I'm sure its not as bad as Rio...lol! Oh yea, included lunch and all you wanted to drink, beer etc

  2. This is a new one for me. Never heard that you could be bumped from your cabin selection for someone needing a three person cabin. Would this apply to sofa bed cabins as well?

On princess the mini suite and full suites have sofabeds, reg balconies do not.

  3.
Wow, someone is bitter about something.
Nope not bitter at all! Feel the crew works so hard they deserve to have at the very least the auto tips left on. Every cruise I see people removing it. I read posts where the same people who remove it will post how they managed to cash out all their OBC. So in many cases IF they left their daily grat amts in place, they still would not of spent a dime out of pocket. ( Oh so maybe I am bitter after all...LOL)
  4. OK Here is my take. Sailing on RC with friends who had children was very good. Princess also good BUT more in activities geared toward children on RC. (At least are more visible to everyone with parades, rock climbing, ice skating and so forth However, going to Alaska I would choose princess. Just came back about 6 weeks ago and can find no fault with cabin (We had 3 in a mini suite and snatched E730 which has a huge balcony) Food is better on Princess, entertainment is a toss up, both lines are good. Overall, if on a Caribbean cruise I might prefer RC with kids, but for Alaska, I'd take Princess. I like both lines, but prefer Princess with over 25 cruises on her.

  5. No one complains when they get to add up all their OBC for stock.military. FCC.loyalty credits T/A gifts or Princess OBC specials..... but sure complain when the auto grat is added daily to counter the free monies you accept willingly........just saying... oh yea and brag how they can cheat Princess and cash it out to take home without spending it

  6. No extra perks for mini other than specialty dining if still offered with promo. Extra space is nice, bigger bathroom with tub, 2 tvs, sofa. I always try for a covered balcony mini on Emerald deck, the last 2 have very very large balconys

  7. Last year I had a very bad car accident, broke both my hips and fractured my back in two places. First cruise I was still in wheelchair and had a handicapped balcony (or mini can't remember). It was fantastic, no issues at all. Next two cruises in a mini and I had no problems getting in and out of tub. I think you will be fine with the tub, just go slow getting in and out.
  8. I did this tour about 8 yrs ago. Was the best tour I have ever done with Princess. Was I tired? YES !!!! Did I research it and know what I was in for ? YES Am I glad I did it ? YES !! Any regrets looking back? NO !!! If I had wimped out and skipped day two...It would be on me...I would not expect any refund from Princess because I didn't feel like going on day two.

  9. At the airport waiting to board for flight to Seattle. Looks like good weather tomorrow. Think we will start with bites of Seattle festival at Seattle center.

Have a great cruise. Was on the Ruby in May to Alaska and had a great time!, going again in Sept, and another cruise on her already booked after that for 10 days to Mexico !

  10. Why this advice?

Contrary to you, many people cannot do the 7 day cruises, much less 10, for a variety of reasons, one of which is taking time off from work.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with those cruises, except they're too short! But then, following r me, 10 days would still be too short!

To the OP, go for it.

YES !!! If this is what you can manage, go for it! A mid week short cruise may be more laid back than a 3 day weekend one. Enjoy whichever one you pick!

  11. Wondering why you say your steaks were over salted when they arrived. Every steak I have ordered at the CG came unsalted. This is because you are given the option to salt your own steak with 3 specialty salts; Hawaiian Black, Himalayan Mountain Pink and Smoked Apple Wood.

EXACTLY ! I was going to post this but you beat me to it. The specialty salt they give you is stronger than table salt. Perhaps the OP oversalted their own steaks?
