  1. Room service won’t go to your room if you don’t want them to with just a cup of coffee. You can get it at the door. If the coffee maker is your only choice then it’ll not be on the Oceania.
  2. Before resubmitting call Oceania and they should be able to confirm whether the credit was applied or not. Then obtain the Oceania invoice from your TA or O itself. The credit should be listed under the Gifts and Amenities on the invoice.
  3. Then the time was listed in the pre-order form that was included in the booklet. Sorry, if you didn’t get it. I’m not arguing that it’s wrong that the time change wasn’t communicated to you. Just in response to your post trying to show others who find it difficult to find different ways confirming the accuracy of their shore excursions. And for the times it always a good idea to read what’s written on the tickets itself.
  4. Bellow is the abstract from the excursion booklet that I have on file. The time is there. SHORE EXCURSIONS Edinburgh (Rosyth), Scotland ROY-002 ROYAL MILE WALKING TOUR Date: Apr 24, 2024 Time: 09:30 AM Duration: 4.25 Hrs Price: $139.00 OVERVIEW Walk Edinburgh’s glorious Royal Mile, the medieval thoroughfare that stretches from Edinburgh Castle to the Palace of Holyroodhouse. The walk will commence at the castle’s esplanade in the shadow of the imposing fortress, the city’s oldest building. While descending the Royal Mile, you will pass a litany of historical buildings such as Gladstone’s Land, the former townhouse of a wealthy merchant that has been restored to its 17th-century splendor. You will also see Lady Stair’s House, a literary museum dedicated to the works of Sir Walter Scott and Robert Louis Stevenson, both of whom were born in Edinburgh. Upon reaching the end of the street, you will enjoy free time, during which you might explore Holyroodhouse, the British monarch’s official residence in Scotland. In the 18th century, famed novelist Daniel Defoe hailed the Royal Mile as “the largest, longest and finest street in the world.”
  5. Definitely it’s not the way how it supposed to be communicated to you. For all of our 15+ cruises on Oceania the excursion tickets were there when we arrived in our cabin. And if any changes there was a notification letter along with the tickets. We normally check everything at this point. But in case someone doesn’t get anything there’s also an excursion booklet and a pre order form in the cabin. We always review it because changes to the prior arrangements that are different from the descriptions that were available earlier are listed there. It’s just another way to insure that everything is accurate with the tours that we had pre booked before boarding the ship.
  6. Want to take a chance? Might be a good choice for those who like to gamble in Las Vegas as well.
  7. Before the refurbishment that cabinet was under the TV. Honestly, I don’t remember if it was a door at all (maybe not) but it wasn’t that inconvenient to use the countertop while reaching for that cabinet. On our last cruise on Sirena we always needed to move the tray with the water bottles when we opened the door of the corner cabinet.
  8. We’ve noticed that as well. It’s not just in interior but also in the other regular cabins. The door of the corner cabinet swings in the wrong direction. Some drawers are very shallow too. Inconvenient… but really the first world problem. Otherwise, we think that the cabin's design is pretty efficient. We don’t overpack but not limit ourselves just to carryons and find the storage on the R-ships more than adequate.
  9. That all just mean that it’s not advisable to book a cruise to Bermuda on any cruise line if your main goal is to visit that particular ports. Then there’s no need to blame the captain for missing the port.
  10. But then it comes to the question why bookings on X and all other big ships cruise lines are at all times high. We don’t cruise that lines but maybe they know what they’re doing.
  11. This is the demographic Oceania is after looking forward and I’m afraid that there’s no way back. It’s unfortunate that the behaviour of some groups of the passengers is diminishing the experience for others but that is the reality we and staff need to learn how to deal with.
  12. Can you please explain why OBC couldn’t be used for a haircut.
  13. We mostly cruise on Oceania, just a couple of Azamara cruises, but we don’t mind the small ships because they often go to the places that we’re interested in. As for the itineraries that you consider I would say that the Azamara is preferable because of more interesting ports and the possibility of spending at least a little bit more time on the each end in Tokyo and Kyoto. But for the first time both cruises would be a great introduction to Japan, especially at that time of the year.
  14. If there isn’t any personal preference for either of the cruise lines for me it would be the timing and the other ports of call on the itineraries. A little research will give you an idea of what itinerary will be better based on your personal interest. Both, Tokyo and Kobe deserves more than an overnight in my opinion but an extended stay may be possible on the either end of the cruise depending on the itinerary again.
  15. This is very balanced approach to the “problem”. Much more valuable than demanding a “no kids” policy and the constant complaining about any children who are happening to get on the ship.
  16. Have you personally sailed with Oceania before? It’d be a good idea to go on their shorter cruise before embarking on the ATW rather than relying on someone else’s review. It’s very possible that you would like it if you tried it. And then you’d know if ATW is a good fit for you.
  17. Not saying that misbehaving children are all the way wonderful but an appropriate ring on the doorbell wouldn’t “ruin” my vacation.
  18. It looks like the person is looking for “problems” to be able to complain and ask for a compensation, according to his posts. I’ve never heard of anyone receiving a compensation for complaining on Oceania other than a bottle of wine. But if I correctly recall that poster doesn’t drink.
  19. I also feel for grandchildren of that person who can’t stand the other kids around him that much.
  20. And their parents get to choose which cruise line to sail as much as you do. They aren’t there to please YOU at the first place.
  21. Anyone who needs to connect at Heathrow can use this helpful tool from LHR airport website: https://www.heathrow.com/connecting-flights
  22. Your voucher is for the limited time only. If you know for sure that you would like to book the particular cruise go for it now. The price may just go up in the future. But if it’s any sale later most likely you’ll be able to switch to the new promotion. You may loose the value of the voucher but gain more in the price reduction. I’ll also suggest you to use a good TA who can help you with the sales.
  23. Thank you for posting. It is not a matter if I trust your numbers or not. I still don’t understand how Oceania can accommodate 1200 passengers in the theater of that size especially when just one seating is available. Maybe it was a typo in the Oceania document that you’re referring to.
  24. With all respect I understand that people have their own preferences on how to cruise and where to spend their money on vacations. But personally we think that the food in Spain including Barcelona is amazing. Then we’re not normally going to the restaurants in the heavily touristy areas in any city. But obviously, not everyone’s taste is the same.
  25. We haven’t been on the Vista yet not until next summer. We’re not a big on the Oceania entertainment. Not going to the show every time but I can’t imagine that there’re only 319 seats in the theater on the ship with 1200 passengers on board. Would not be easy to get in. Anyone else can confirm?
