  1. IMO, a 19-year-old is an adult and capable of making their own decision in regards to footwear.  And you can buy the 15-year-old specific shoes, but if they don't want them, good luck with getting them to wear  them.  🙂

  2. The lack of an Italian pay restaurant doesn't have to be a surprise.  All restaurants and other amenities are clearly marked on the deck plans.

As far as the map channel goes, I have never been on Elation, but I am pretty sure I have seen the map channel on every one of my 25+ Carnival cruises.  A time or two it wasn't working very well, but it was there.

I wonder if the vacation protection plan covers Air Force helicopters and refueling runs? I thought the price for 1 Coast Guard Helicopter was high! It just shows how important it is to have some kind of vacation insurance, because anything can happen.

Any decent travel insurance policy has a pretty high limit for medical evacuation.  It's designed to cover emergencies like this.  I pay $250/year for a medical-only policy for my husband and me, and the medical transportation coverage is $250,000.

As always, check your policy for your specific coverage.

Black something or other is the mushroom pate and that is the color it should be.

    Exactly.

I have had the Beef Wellington several times on Carnival Cruises since the new menu came out (not on MG, however), and it is one of my favorite entrees in the MDR.

In general, port day breakfast times on Carnival change based on what time the ship gets into port. In other words, if there is an early debarkation time at the port, breakfast opens earlier. I don't know if this affects Venezia's current itineraries.

Was general disembarkation starting at 6:30 as well?

    Sure, sea day brunch 830-noon.

    Port day breakfast is 7-9.

    Both in grande canal.

WTH are you talking about?? Please point to where I said it was okay to do this. Go ahead, I'll wait....

All I did was report that the policy wasn't being enforced. At least not on this cruise because it has been the exact same thing every night for two full weeks. Wheelchairs and scooters parked in the hallways overnight, starting in the early evening. Not only that, but I even pointed out that in one of the cases, they didn't even bother to fold up the wheelchairs and created even more of a safety issue by taking up even more of the hallway.

So maybe next time you should make a better attempt to understand a poster's comment before jumping down their throat because you misinterpreted what they wrote.

I inferred from your post that you were saying that it was okay to leave a scooter in the hall because other people have done it. If I was mistaken, I apologize.

I still believe that scooters, wheelchairs, and strollers should be reported to security. If that was done consistently, the problem would probably go away.

That may be so, but it is not being enforced. On my way to my cabin last night, I counted three Carnival Glory branded collapsable wheelchairs in the hallway outside of interior cabins (only two of which were collapsed), and one red collapsable scooter.  And that was just on the port side of one of the passenger decks. No telling how many "expressly forbidden" safety hazards are occurring each night on all the decks combined.

So, because a certain rule isn't enforced 100% of the time on 100% of the ships, it's okay to ignore?  The OP was looking for guidance on getting a scooter with her interior cabin.  I would never advise anyone to simply disregard a written policy, especially when the safety of other passengers is involved.

And I would certainly not be shy about reporting scooters left in the hallway for an extended amount of time to ship security.   The first time I saw it, I might give the person a little grace and assume that they had just popped into their cabin for a few minutes, but after that, maybe not.

This will be my first time as platinum- kind of a stupid question but I guess we just open the shut doors even though they say don't enter until 1:30?

Yes, you can.  Just don't linger in your cabin.  Literally drop the bags and leave.

I've seen this on the menu but have never tried it.  It looks really good.   Can you tell them how you want the steak cooked? The above is just a touch rarer than I like.

The last time I had this, we were given a choice of either medium rare or medium well.  This looks like the medium rare.

That is what I thought. It’s really only to dry my bangs.🤣  I usually let my hair air dry.

    It's fine for that. 🙂

Otherwise, it's akin to the hairdryers attached to the wall in cheap motel rooms, except that it's in the drawer instead, and therefore, even more difficult to use.

We are going on the Visa in November and are platinum. We plan to carry our luggage off and have a private shuttle scheduled for 8am and a flight at MCO for 12:15. I was doubting myself a little about the time. What are your thoughts on the 12:15 flight?

So what happens to your private shuttle if you can't get off the ship by 8?  Will it wait for you?
