  1. No they couldn't, unless someone over 21 bought them drinks without getting caught.
  2. No. They are the twin beds pushed together. They need to be flexible so that there can be twin beds in that cabin if that's what the passengers want.
  3. They aren't going to give you a balcony for the price of an oceanview just because the oceanviews are sold out. They will wait for someone who is willing to pay what they are charging for the balcony.
  4. I am guessing it was based on when they could dock the ship in Baltimore.
  5. I pack extremely lightly. I have been on B2B cruises for over 20 days total where I only brought a backpack and a carry-on. No way would I waste precious packing space on anything they provide for free on the ship.
  6. Not sure that having to request towels would eliminate that problem. And perhaps they don't monitor that as closely as they used to. On my last several cruises, the steward has left additional towels unasked while we were up on Lido with our original ones. I don't think they would do that if they had to account for all those additional towels at the end.
  7. Who doesn't use the pool towels? I rarely swim on the ship, but I still take them up to my lounger on Lido, and I certainly use them at beach port stops, and I think nearly every other passenger does the same. Making everyone request them would create a lot more work for the cabin stewards and long lines at the towel hut. And there would also be a ten-page thread on CC about another Carnival Cutback.
  8. Based on the poster's extensive list of things they won't eat, I am not sure that any cruise line is going to have a menu that is going to make them happy.
  9. But the add things like "dealer prep" and "doc fees" that aren't part of the advertised price. I am guessing that is going to change in California as well.
  10. If they are making a good faith effort to quote the most current amounts, they should be fine. I don't think the government expects anyone to predict the future, even in California. 😁
  11. That is why we try to be the last ones off the ship if we have a later flight.
  12. Carnival knows how much they quote you for port fees and taxes when you book. That is what they would advertise.
  13. I wonder if the California law means that hotels will have to advertise the price including taxes and resort fees and taxes.
  14. IMO, a 19-year-old is an adult and capable of making their own decision in regards to footwear. And you can buy the 15-year-old specific shoes, but if they don't want them, good luck with getting them to wear them. 🙂
  15. They have vegetarian and fish options at every meal in the dining room. And just today, John Heald just announced a gluten-free menu on North American ships
  16. The lack of an Italian pay restaurant doesn't have to be a surprise. All restaurants and other amenities are clearly marked on the deck plans. As far as the map channel goes, I have never been on Elation, but I am pretty sure I have seen the map channel on every one of my 25+ Carnival cruises. A time or two it wasn't working very well, but it was there.
  17. LaGuardia, I believe. You can use Google Maps to verify.
  18. Any decent travel insurance policy has a pretty high limit for medical evacuation. It's designed to cover emergencies like this. I pay $250/year for a medical-only policy for my husband and me, and the medical transportation coverage is $250,000. As always, check your policy for your specific coverage.
  19. Exactly. I have had the Beef Wellington several times on Carnival Cruises since the new menu came out (not on MG, however), and it is one of my favorite entrees in the MDR.
  20. It's worth trying some of the larger online travel agencies (especially the ones that specialize in cruises) to see if they have any cabins. If I am not mistaken, they take blocks of cabins that Carnival can't sell you.
  21. Was general disembarkation starting at 6:30 as well?
  22. In general, port day breakfast times on Carnival change based on what time the ship gets into port. In other words, if there is an early debarkation time at the port, breakfast opens earlier. I don't know if this affects Venezia's current itineraries.
  23. I was on the Venezia a few weeks ago, and I can assure you the lack of a whale tail did not affect my enjoyment of the cruise one bit.
  24. Or show up after they have boarded...
  25. I found it through a general travel insurance agency website, but it's GeoBlue. I am sure you can find it by Googling.
