  1. You can see the effect of the NRD on the Oasis at the Next Cruise office.

At Next Cruise the NRD deposit is $100 pp, a RD is $250 pp. Before the $250 change Next Cruise might have 7 or 8 agents busy almost all the time. After the $250 deposit Next Cruise would be open with 2 or 3 agents and only one or two would be occupied.

At $100 deposit with refundable fare I might have 4 future cruises booked. I never cancelled for refund, but, would change dates or ships sometimes. At $250 deposit, I'll just wait for the last minute sales (sails??). I don't want to tie up $2000 to hold 4 future cruises. I want my money in my pocket, not Royal's pocket.

  2. I was able to complete my cruise documents using RoyalCaribbean.com "already booked" link, but when I try to log in to my account to view my profile or anything remotely connected to my account, I get the "please try again later" from the blue screen. I've tried Firefox, Chrome, and today, Edge and IE 11.

I've used the back door link that's been posted on this thread and it takes me to the first page of my account, but, if I try to connect to anything from that page it takes me to the blue log in page that tells me "please try again later."

I cannot believe royal would subject their customers to such a lousy product and then not clean it up.

Instead of integrating the royal and celebrity systems, they've shut me out.

  3. We are cruising on the Majesty tomorrow and we received notice that due to a maintenance issue boarding won't start until 5:30 and will run to 7:30. There was no info on when we would actually depart, but, I am assuming it would be 8 or 8:30. I guess the life boat drill will be around that same time.

I am curious about what happens to early dining, late dining, shows etc that first evening. How is the schedule adjusted?

  4. Is anyone aware of a website that provides current information when the USCG closes Tampa Bay to ship traffic?

I've been on both the embarking end and the disembarking end of a closed bay.

Nothing you can do but wait on the ship if you are delayed disembarking. But, I would like to know before leaving home whether I should stop for lunch and take my time, or, plan to spend several hours outside the terminal waiting for the ship to clear and be cleaned if I am scheduled to cruise.

  5. Looked at my charges, and low and behold $12.82 in extra charges were there. Called and got it reversed.

Mini bar charges for Evian water! What a scbam!

I think Royal is doing this to increase revenue as it happens too often and to too many people on too many ships to be a mistake. If you question it they readily remove it, but, the many people who don't reconcile their cc statements end up paying an extra $12.82.

When you think how many staterooms Royal fills each week it will add a lot of income if only a few people don't complain. But, I bet less people complain then do not.

  6. Because of the outside it seemed to be a cargo ship, but, it was high like a cruise ship and it would be a strange place for a cargo ship to dock. Most cargo ships I've seen are low and open. This was high and enclosed.

But, without balconies and port holes it also didn't look like any cruise ship I've ever seen.
