Plan on getting up early. Lots and lots of carry off on the Oasis. Helps if you are Pinnacle or suite.
-
The new website was supposed to link Royal, Celebrity and Azamara. Unfortunately after 4 months it doesn't even link the old Royal site. I wonder how many heads rolled over this fiasco?

You can see the effect of the NRD on the Oasis at the Next Cruise office.
At Next Cruise the NRD deposit is $100 pp, a RD is $250 pp. Before the $250 change Next Cruise might have 7 or 8 agents busy almost all the time. After the $250 deposit Next Cruise would be open with 2 or 3 agents and only one or two would be occupied.
At $100 deposit with refundable fare I might have 4 future cruises booked. I never cancelled for refund, but, would change dates or ships sometimes. At $250 deposit, I'll just wait for the last minute sales (sails??). I don't want to tie up $2000 to hold 4 future cruises. I want my money in my pocket, not Royal's pocket.

To check in took some real perseverance. I cannot believe they did not test this before releasing it. Even if you get in you cannot select you preferences. Heads should roll!

I was able to complete my cruise documents using RoyalCaribbean.com "already booked" link, but when I try to log in to my account to view my profile or anything remotely connected to my account, I get the "please try again later" from the blue screen. I've tried Firefox, Chrome, and today, Edge and IE 11.
I've used the back door link that's been posted on this thread and it takes me to the first page of my account, but, if I try to connect to anything from that page it takes me to the blue log in page that tells me "please try again later."
I cannot believe royal would subject their customers to such a lousy product and then not clean it up.
Instead of integrating the royal and celebrity systems, they've shut me out.
-
I can now get into the on-line check-in as well as the cruise planner.
What browser are you using. I am still unable to get into my account using firefox and chrome. I've been getting "try again later" for a week and a half.

We are cruising on the Majesty tomorrow and we received notice that due to a maintenance issue boarding won't start until 5:30 and will run to 7:30. There was no info on when we would actually depart, but, I am assuming it would be 8 or 8:30. I guess the life boat drill will be around that same time.
I am curious about what happens to early dining, late dining, shows etc that first evening. How is the schedule adjusted?

This next Tampa cruise in on Royal. I have yet to get notice of a delay at any port. I only find out when I get there.http://boards.cruisecritic.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Thanks Captain, That's what I was looking for.

Is anyone aware of a website that provides current information when the USCG closes Tampa Bay to ship traffic?
I've been on both the embarking end and the disembarking end of a closed bay.
Nothing you can do but wait on the ship if you are delayed disembarking. But, I would like to know before leaving home whether I should stop for lunch and take my time, or, plan to spend several hours outside the terminal waiting for the ship to clear and be cleaned if I am scheduled to cruise.

Looked at my charges, and low and behold $12.82 in extra charges were there. Called and got it reversed.
Mini bar charges for Evian water! What a scbam!
I think Royal is doing this to increase revenue as it happens too often and to too many people on too many ships to be a mistake. If you question it they readily remove it, but, the many people who don't reconcile their cc statements end up paying an extra $12.82.
When you think how many staterooms Royal fills each week it will add a lot of income if only a few people don't complain. But, I bet less people complain then do not.

Unless your gratuities are pre-paid you will not be able to switch to MTD on board. Get it resolved before you go.

What a terrible way to end a cruise!
We were home by 7:35.
We enjoyed the conversation and enjoyed meeting you & DH. Hopefully we'l meet again.

Cruisegirl1,
Hopefully, it was not due to your dining companions at the officer's breakfast.

We leave Sunday for an Eastern Caribbean on the Freedom. No messages from Royal yet.
If this weather keeps up I don't expect the restaurants to be crowded.

The easiest cold soup are the fruit soups. You can use your favorite canned friut. Blend until smooth and add some plain yogurt to get your preferred consistency. The canned fruit has just the right sweetness.
-
Often you can disembark before 7 AM if you carry off.

 We just got off the Freedom of the Seas and were disappointed that after being in dry dock almost a month they didn't put a Park Cafe on board!
-
Some of the modern car transporters would fit "high and enclosed".
Example: http://www.ship-technology.com/projects/adria-ace/images/3-adria-ace-car-carrier.jpg
It did look more like that on the sides but then it also had a superstructure above. But, again it was on the last passenger pier. Not a place to unload cars. But, I didn't stay up all night to watch.
-
Because of the outside it seemed to be a cargo ship, but, it was high like a cruise ship and it would be a strange place for a cargo ship to dock. Most cargo ships I've seen are low and open. This was high and enclosed.
But, without balconies and port holes it also didn't look like any cruise ship I've ever seen.
-
Just enjoy the cruise!
No matter what happens on the ship would you rather be working?
-
We cruise the Freedom often and I was sorry not to see a Park Cafe when I checked the new deck plans. That means it will have to wait for the next dry dock. Boo hoo.
-
Book a 3 night before your next long cruise.
You missed the 2 night on the Freedom!
Lounge confusion
in Royal Caribbean International
Posted
The 3 drink limit is only at the ship's bars. The lounges are "unlimited" during happy hours.
