About the outlet situation. Check 1:46 into the video and you will notice an available outlet behind the TV. Not real convenient, but good for charging camera batteries, phones, Kindles, etc.

I was expecting some huge waves. Those were not really that bad.

I believe it's a matter of perspective. I'm videoing the waves hitting the front of the ship from the very last cabin at the back on deck 8. Golden is a very long ship. The waves we were colliding with were monsters and it felt like we were slamming on the brakes when we hit each one. The ship was shimmying from side to side as well. People at the front of the ship were very sick from the constant up and down motion. We were quite groovy at the back. :D

Were you protected from the wind on the balcony? We love true aft balconies for that reason but also love the extra space of the mini.

I felt protected yes. I did go out in a storm at one point.

It didn't look that rough to me.

I guess you would have to be there to feel it. :D

My Ubby and I are going on this cruise. :D

I wondering if we are going to actually tender in Cabo on Oct 7th.

I'm scheduled to be in Cabo on Golden Princess on Tuesday, October 7th, 2014. I've heard nothing from Princess/Atlantis regarding a change as of yet.

I'll let y'all know if I hear anything. :D

:confused: I thought you were going to investigate whether the AC and wall outlets shut off when the card was pulled.

They did not. Only the lights.

I'm on Nieuw Amsterdam in less than 3 weeks. I'll test it out and report back! :D

Sorry, I really dislike those cabanas. All that lovely open deck is now private cubicles. The worst are the ones by the Lido pool.

 

No thanks, I'll just stick with the older ships.

You don't need the restaurant. The Cabanas have a menu. You can order anything you want and they bring it to your Cabana table. You're very spoiled in a Cabana! :D

What did you think of the Lido cabanas? My partner and I had one of the Family Retreat cabanas both on the Eurodam and NA and loved it. We did go down to the pool to check out the Lido cabanas, but thought it was too hot and stuffy, plus a lot of traffic walking by. Just didn't seem all that enjoyable and nothing like the peace and quiet the Retreat offered.

Loved my Lido Cabana! I had many naps. The traffic wasn't bad. I like being close to the action by the pool. :D

Which Lido Cabana would you say has the best location, Santa Fe or the one on the other end?

 

I read a comment from someone about them setting up T-shirt sales one day on the Lido and it was right in front of their cabana.

 

Which one did you have and did you notice any pros or cons about location?

They did setup hat/t-shirt sales several times in front of Santa Fe. I was in Ibiza and there isn't enough room to setup anything in front. I would say the first 4 Cabanas are the best, but I would rather be in Santa Fe than not have a Cabana at all. It's a great value.

Thanks for the video. We have 9215 on the reflection for our Mediterranean cruise in September. I know they will be very similar! :D

We had the exact same room number on Solstice and they were pretty much the same. I don't remember the lack of shelving in the closet though. :D
