  1. Your easy access to MTD depends somewhat on the size of your party. Just 2 people, usually no problem walking right in or having a brief wait. With just 2 people, you will most likely be dining alone. 4 or more, you need a reservation, otherwise you will be waiting forever.

  2. My sister and I were in the presidential suite on INDY in January and indeed

Raj the concierge came down and escorted us onto the ship promptly. no waiting and since rooms were not open yet he actually took our carryons and dropped them at the room for us while we explored the ship and had lunch.

Raj was wonderful all week. We are pretty self sufficient, we don't need much and we don't drink so we rarely needed to call him or see him. However, he was genuinely upset the one time we bypassed him and called guest services about a problem in the cabin. He made it very clear from that point on we were to call him for ANYthing, no matter how big or small.

While we certainly did not take up his time I can tell you he was working nonstop. Seems his personal phone was ringing nonstop with requests from other suite guests. He was exceptional from start to finish

I'm curious. Was it just the 2 of you in the suite? Doesn't it hold 14? How were you able to book it? It must have been a incredible experience.

  3. I don't believe so. We were on Rhapsody after the upgrades and did not have interactive TV.

However, Guest Services will give you a printout of your account anytime you want.

Thanks. We haven't been on a vision class ship for awhile.

  4. I know its on the MDR menu but does anyone know if prime rib is served the first night in the Windjammer? We usually dine in the MDR with MTD the first night, but on our upcoming Oasis cruise the only MTD time we could get was 6:00 which is too early especially since we just watched the Oasis leave today and it was after 5:30. Or could we just show up later (7ish) for MTD with no reservation and be seated?

If you just 'show up' for the MTD, you may have a long wait as you've already discovered by only being able to reserve for 6 pm, other diners have already snapped up the other times and tables.

  5. Oasis will provide wheelchair assistance to get on and off the ship. I have mobility problems and walk very slowly. Never been on a ship this size so I am concerned that this assistance only takes place at certain times or can I request an early time to coincide with my family's self disembark.

Thanks for your quick response. I have a relative who could use this type of aid and didn't know it was available. Thanks.

  6. There is no assistance with self disembarkation. You must be able to take yourself and all you luggage off the ship by yourself. Your family may be able to help you but don't expect any other help.

Also, IMHO, some people who use this early disembarkation can be pushy. If you do this, make sure your family members are in front and behind you to protect you.

I know about self disembarkation, the op was asking about disembarking with assistance and I don't think I've ever seen this offered, unless it's by wheelchair?

  7. The idea is to bring the passport with you in case of some unforeseen event which leads you to missing your boat, you can book a flight home. Now an exception I guess is, if you are on an excursion through RCI, they will hold the boat for you.

And if something happens, you can contact the ship and have them bring your passport to you.

  8. I was sick once and missed dinner. Our waiter insisted on making a plate for me and gave it to my husband, nice and hot at the end of his dinner, to bring to me. I really enjoyed it and we tipped our waiter extra at the end of the week for his thoughtfulness.

  9. I called today both RC and cruise agency and was told they only send out the money to RC from corporate a week before the cruise and its up to RC to credit our shipboard account...I do hope they will credit us.

My question also is if we are only dining in the MDR two evenings and we get rejected for my time dining, I only see it a problem because I am sure many others are on wait list for main seating, I hate to occupy something we won't be using, I do hope RC/Maitre'd will give us my time dining so that somebody can have our main seating...I can prove we have paid for the remaining nights specialty dining I do hope we get the my time.

Ask your TA to switch you to my time dining now. And because you are a large group, make reservations the day you board the ship for your preferred my time dining time.

  10. Airfares generally aren't published until 331 days before the flight date. Choice air gets bulk or group rates. You have to make sure you monitor your seat selection on a regular basis thru the website of the airline you are flying on. Delta does not award miles for choice air flights.

  11. Just booked Choice Air Cleveland>LAX>Sydney. We are on United for the CLE>LAX, with seats. We are on Qantas LAX>SYD, and cannot book the seats. We can request a seating location for an additional $25.00 pp. Trying to figure out what we should do with this one. Any suggestions??

Our return is Qantas SYD>LAX, again, cannot book seats. (I think I should call Qantas and ask them.) Flying United LAX>CLE, and have seats.

If you're flying economy, QANTAS doesn't allow advance seat selection, you get your seats at check in.
