We've been sailing since before they brought in the fuel surcharge and we've never once paid it. We did worry about it though.

Great review, thanks. We did the Suez Canal on the Brilliance in 2011, and have a ton of fond memories of her.

E's are usually a better price for a slightly smaller space.

The tips are actually a big part of their wages. They get room and board and medical and uniforms and tips.

I'm surprised that the CL hasn't been moved on the Freedom class ships, because the "suite experience" is supposed to be extra-special.

No harm in asking. Please let us know if the furniture was rearranged.

We had a cabin once with a pole, and we actually forgot it was there.

Chances are pretty good that a js will become available, although maybe not aft.

They are bigger and usually sell out pretty fast.

I surprised to hear that.
People actually sat down and were told to leave. I couldn't believe it. The restaurants weren't open and the seats were empty. Some days they put signs up saying that the seating was for the restaurants only, but again, they weren't yet open.

You can use the seating area in both Rita's and Izumi for breakfast.
The area where Rita's and Izumi's is located was already part of the outdoor area on both the port and starboard side and was not part of the WJ inside seating area. Saying that "half" the seating in the WJ has been sucked up is exaggerating a bit.:D
We were on the radiance last spring, and they would not let us sit in the two restaurants for breakfast or lunch. It was very difficult finding a place to sit, and we even complained. We started going to the MDR for these meals, as we were tired with walking around with our plates of food.

RCI doesn't have access to criminal information. Homeland Security would be the ones running background checks. Don't worry about it and have a great vacation. Apply for a pardon when you get home.

You don't need to put anything on the account initially. Royal will let you charge up to $500 before they ask it to be paid down.
Do you need to give them your debit card as security? What would happen if you spent less than $500 on the cruise and then didn't have any cash to pay it at the end? Just curious.

We like tables of 6 or 8. We get to meet new people and the table isn't so big that it's hard to hear everyone. We've had tables for 2 and we find we spend a lot of time waiting for the waiter to wait on us, because we eat faster when there's no one else there to talk to.

One reason we like RCI, is because it's their policy to always have at least one pool and one hot tub open 724.

If we feel someone deserves more tip, we give it to them in cash. This way we know they're getting it, and from whom.

We rented a minivan there, but we reserved it in advance.

We have used the same local TA for 18 years. She's never steered us wrong, and takes care of us when need be.

They start out cute, but by the end of the cruise, many become royal pains, and some parents think the concierges are there to entertain and cater to them! Sorry, but you wouldn't take your Children to a cocktail party at home, and basically that is what you're doing on the ship.

We usually book a balcony, and since we cannot combine our C & A balcony discount with the shareholders OBC, we recently sold our shares.

Road to Hana is nice scenery, but a very long drive, there and back. We spend our time in and around Lahaina..
