  1. That's 10164! :)

We stayed on 0164 on jewel for thanksgiving. Only had one neighbor (daughter and family) the people above us sounded more like a bowling alley than a cabin. Our balcony extended pass the balcony above. Thus, not all of our balcony was covered.

We had some rough seas and at times it felt like the ship was coming apart. You really feel rough seas back there. We were fine and slept like babies.

  2. We also were on the thanksgiving cruise. Party of 3 families all had the aft suites. Weather was rough and the cabin has lots of rocking and rolling. First time in totally aft so this may be part of it. Not prone to sea sickness anymore, but this would of been big problem if we did have that issue.

We also breezed on the ship. We were in front of cagney's at 11:25 waiting for it to open.

Ate all meals in main dining room (evening) except last nite we did chin chin.

Actually had 10 in our party so getting everyone onboard with plans got crazy.

Most everyone did the dolphin encounter in Cozumel and enjoyed it. Nothing for Belize, too rough. Everything to do with water got cancelled in roatan. Most of the group did beach getaway thru NCL. Everyone loved this excursion. The weather was super good this day so that helped.

My husband and I did the sight seeing and shopping in Cozumel. We have done this same tour thru carnival, and royal carribean, but this one was the best.

We were on the star last thanksgiving. Thought the turkey dinner was better on the star. Maybe it was the platter of sandwich 's that spoiled our appetite for dinner.

Now I am trying to catch up on laundry so I can pack for a little 5 day cruise in 5 weeks.

  3. I have sailed out of NO on the Jewel twice in the last month. We went through security with everyone else then went to the suite line. There were a couple of people ahead of us each time but they were sent to check in as soon as a spot was available. It was a very short wait. We were then escorted to the lounge area and immediately brought on board.

About what time did you check in?

This is what we did last November, but the lady on the phone told me we were to actually check in in the lounge. I know with carnival we have been checking in at the lounge.

  4. last year we had a suite on the star. The lady telling us where to go did not have a clip board to check us off (as I have seen before) she directed us to a regular line. Actually it was short so we went, then sent to the lounge where we were walked to cagney's. I just spike to the concierge desk about our needs. She told me we go straight to lounge for check in. So recent suite guest on the jewel, what did you do? I will say new Orleans change their procedure often (if they even have one)

  5. We sail in 10 days and was wondering if we should bring a little bottle of syrup. Just love those waffles in cagney's. My daughter and I were talking about how funny it was that we paid 1500.00 each for a cabin and bringing small 1.00 bottle of syrup. She said she plans to taste the nasty stuff after reading so much about it.

  6. I was on Dawn in feb. breeze in october no tender. But there are Two ports at roatan. One right at Mahogany Bay the Dawn itself was a short ride away. Well worth it. So was tabyana - a nice gift store. Not well stocked but good prices.

Did you do the ncl excursion to tabyana? We did Maya key and plan to do it again next year, but sail in less than 2 weeks and wanted to do tabyana.

On the spirit on first trip to roatan and we tendered. They used the life boats to tender us. It was rather different.

  7. Not crazy questions at all! Okay maybe a little but the more information you have before you go the better!

**I numbered your questions to make it easier!

1.) We booked transport through Roberts. They met us at the gate and gave everyone a shell lei. You could pre pay for a flower one. While getting on the ship everyone gets a lei as well.

2.) We bought the subway the night before- no problem through security. We also brought chips, cookies, granola bars, and pretzels. This was a huge distraction on the flight and we also got hungry!

3.) I am fairly certain you only get this service if booked through NCL- we did not check in at the hotel. We did not eat any meals at the Marriott. There are so many good restaurants you can walk to.

And yes we did get as much out of it as possible. We decided we need a vacation after that vacation!

You have a very good way of explaining yourself, thus making answering questions comes easy for you. Thanks.

The reason I ask about the lei...you know how it is on some of the ports someone puts a necklace on you and puts their hand out for cash. I am most certain Hawaii is not like this, but I just don't have time to haggle over something I don't need or want.

Our time in the air will be LONG. Coming out of new Orleans. First layover I'd just one hour and just an hour after we leave. So then over 9 hours straight in the air. I can't live on trash and snacks that long. A subway sandwich would hit the spot. The menu they sale on flights suck.

I am sure we will find plenty of good places to eat from wedn. Thru Saturday while we are there.

    Thanks again

  8. Really enjoyed reading your review!

    A few questions....crazy ones. lol

You mention the shell lei at the airport. Was it for sale, or a gift?

Did you get the subway sandwich after security or before?

I have read there is a check in place at the hotel, ran by ncl. I don't know if everyone can use it or if you book the hotel thru ncl. We are doing the cruise tour package, hotel and flight all thru ncl. The prices to eat at the Marriott is UNREAL!!!

I can say you'll seemed to got as much out of the trip as humanly possible.

  9. I am a local here and know quite a bit about both companies. The 2 companies are Old Town and City View. City View is the cheaper of the 2, and I will say that in this case, cheaper is better. The guides on both are informative and humorous, and the routes are vitually identical. However, you pay less for City View and their seats are padded. Both are hop on/hop off. I recommend booking City View over Old Town.

Took the words from my mouth.

Just buy the ticket once you get there. Much much cheaper than from the cruise line. We are seniors and I had us each a 2.00 off coupon. Trying to find the site I got the coupon from for a friend right now.

  10. We just returned yesterday from the conquest and was in key west on may 7th. We ate at carolines on Duvall and it was awesome . We each left half our order it was so much. You can google and get menu.

We did the city view trolley and it was stop #2. The map had a coupon for free piece of key lime pie.

  11. Is this the complete menu? No Prime Rib at a steak house? No more crabcakes? The two things that I went to Cagney's for. Very disappointing.

This is the two things I will miss. We have talked 8 people into going with us in november and I was selling cagney's big time. Oops!!! This will be their first ncl cruise to boot. (suites at that).

We may just be eating in MDR. If I can't have what I am going for, might as well eat for free.
