  1.

That said we have paid nearly $900 more this year with no price drops on the same cabin on Magic that we had on Breeze last year.

Thats interesting. We paid $150 more this year then last year (last year on the magic this year the breeze) same itinerarie same cabin the diffrence is we added an extra person this year so i guess this one is slightly cheaper.

  2. Here are the Dive In Movies for April, 2016 to be shown on the 13 ships that have the Lido Deck big screen.

    Cheers

All really good movies i hope some make it to may cruises.

  3. Has anyone heard that the Midnight Buffet may be coming back? If so , when? It was always fun to see everythig

Would this be like a sea day thing or every night? Was last on the magic and they had a Mexican buffet it was awesome but only once in the 7 days .

  4. So we have been on 4 cruise and only gotten one up sale call. I would think it comes to those who are in popular catgorys that are more likely to sale the other so say if im in a balcony i might get an upsale for an oecan suite because its more likely that they will sale that balcony at full price then they would the suite even at a discount that is still higher in price then the balconies.

  5. I am going on a cruise next weekend and we would like to pay for an excursion ahead of time. There are three of us on 1 reservation and we would all like to pay separately for the excursion instead of collecting money from each other. Is this possible to do on the carnival site? If so has anybody run into any issues with it when it came time to board the excursion or any other issues for that matter.

Probably a easy question and answer but don't want to do a trial run on this! Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

Are you all doing the same excursion? if so this sounds way more complicated then it needs to be.

  6. I'm sailing on the Breeze next month. I see you're sailing on her after I am. If there's any changes I'll post about it. I'm really looking forward to using the new Hub app and being able to go into my account and adjust things from my phone instead of going to a kiosk or the pursers desk. :)

    Ok. Thank You!

  7. We have been telling our friends for awhile now how wonderful cruising it. They finally decided to go with us in October 2016 on the Freedom. We will have our children and we are booked on the Lido deck. Our favorite. What I want to know is what are things for them to make sure they do while on ship as well as the ports (Cozumel, Belize, and Roatan). I would like your suggestions so we can put together a list to make as many memories as possible. Thanks again

In Roatan on the beach make sure to get the jerk chicken. Not from the restaurant but from the guy nearby. If asked i would fight Floyd Mayweather for it!!!! So good.

  8. Is it weird that I don't want to take my kids on mega-ship for their first cruise? Am I overthinking this and just being stupid? While the Vista is incredibly tempting, I'm thinking that their first experience should be on something smaller. They are all older anyway (23 and 16 at time of sailing) but I would really love them to love it and cruising in general.

I'm not tied down to any line, but my husband and I have sailed Carnival several times and really like the experience and openness of the deck spaces. NCL's Breakaway is priced right and leaves out of NYC, the Anthem also leaves out of NJ and the Pride leaves out of Baltimore. We're trying to save money and not fly since it's during spring break and around $500 pp to fly to florida (or galveston, NOLA, etc.). Sorry, I know I'm rambling but it helps me organize my thoughts so i can get opinions from you all.

Do you think the Pride is a good choice for our family? The "kids" are active and will definitely utilize the water slides and mini golf, but do you think that there is enough to do? The Breakaway's outdoor sports decks looks amazing but I'm just so worried about the super crowded and enclosed looking deck space areas. My dream cruise would be on the Breeze because it looks like the best of both worlds but it's out for this sailing since we'll be cruising during the peak of air fare prices.

Has anyone sailed both the Pride and the Breakaway with teens/young adults? Which did they prefer?

The bigger ships will have more to offer for those age groups. Should be fun either way.

  9. We have taken seven Caribbean cruises, primarily on Royal Caribbean and Celebrity. Only one was on Carnival.

Our family group of 10 has booked a Carnival Magic cruise, next year.

I have read "expert" reviews of Magic's main dining room's cuisine, and they rated the quality, only fair.

For those people who have been on Celebrity or RCCL, is there that much difference in food quality/dining experience, with Carnival Magic?

I have been on the magic but not RCCL or Celebrity but i think the experts made a fair assessment. The food was fair to good. Usually more on the good side to me. Im a bit of a food snob though.

  10. You can go to the pursers desk and have cash put on his card. But each time you want to put more on his card you have to wait in line at the pursers desk again. I put everyone in our family on the same credit card. I choose unlimited spending for my husband and I. For my kids I can choose a specific amount and adjust those amounts at any of the kiosks throughout the duration of our cruise. Or if you have the new Hub app available on your cruise then you can adjust those amounts on your Hub app. It's so much easier than waiting in line at the pursers desk every time you want to put a little more money in their account. For my teens I put their spending limit at $100 on the first day. Half way through the cruise I adjust their limit to $200. We have done 8 day cruises lately and their teens. It keeps them from spending it all at once. Sometimes I add a little more if they are especially good.

This seems like the best option so far thank you you have just made my son a happy person for now after all he is a teen.

  11. We are doing a cruise on Carnival out of Galveston this Coming Sunday....6 rooms...we all have different check in times.... so how the #/^÷/%_£^/#= are we supposed to coordinate picking up family members from hotels...flights....others driving in..... We are Elite on Celebrity and Diamond Plus on Royal...earned both....not real impressed with Carnival so far....

I dont want to start this as if im flaming but. You have to pick your own check in times Im not sure how this is carnivals fault. I picked mine over a month ago and the cruise is not till may so I cant imagine you didn't have time to coordinate the check in times with your incoming flights and hotel stops.

  12. I found a 7/25 sailing on the Splendor out of Miami last week. Now that I look for it, it's no longer listed. No way is it booked up 5 months out?

Thanks for any insight you have.

So Im booked on the Breeze 29 May and for some reason that cruise is not showing as well. I know its not sold out yet as there where so many open cabins when I last looked. (yesterday). I would love to know what you turn up.

  13. I was wondering if there is any way to put money on my kids sail and sign card so that I can control what he spends with out attaching him to my actual SS account, giving him full access to my credit card? Its not that I dont trust him not to run up a huge amount of debt its just that He is in-fact a teenager and they can be unpredictable and forgetful. Can I set up some sort of daily allowance or something like that?

  14. I have not been on the Dream but have been on the Magic out of Galveston. All three ships for the most part are the same so either choice would be a good one. that said we have a cruise booked on the breeze but if for some reason the dream was on a closer home port We would have no issue sailing on that ship either. Breeze is Newer I think so thats a consideration.

  15. Hi All,

We have been on 11 cruises. 8 with Princess and 3 with Royal. This year we are looking for a cheaper vacation and was looking at Carnival. We just like to people watch and drink beer and eat good food, I am fine if we have to get that in the specialty restaurants. The price seems right. Is it really that much of a "downgrade"???

    thanks for your input.

    Matt

I would say its the perfect line for what you like. Its simple fun at a lower price. People wating and drinking beer is pretty much how i spend my time on ship why pay more to do it?

  16. Was on the magic this past summer i dont remember the name of the guy in the piano bar. I do remember he was bald and from Chicago and that he was really good. He plays other instruments as well also all good but for the life of me i cant remember his name.

  17. I've never cruised on Carnival before our first trip is in March. But on the Disney Wonder, we couldn't HEAR the movie that was playing on the big screen above the pool. I'm hoping that this is not the case with the "Dive-in Movies"? Can you ACTUALLY hear the movie?

Yes you can. Its almost like being in a movie theater.

  18. I am looking to all you experts for advise! This will be a girls cruise for me & my 2 besties & we will book a balcony room but can't decide between Triumph or Liberty. Both itinerarys are the same, price is the same & both ports are in driving distance for us. Which ship would you choose, what do you like best about each ship & are the staterooms the same size on both? I know either will be great, but I always like to look at all the options.

I love Galveston so for that reason alone I would choose Triumph. But it looks like you have already been on that ship so why not try a new one.( well different one) they are I think the same class of ship.
