I am just off the ass burnt Grandeur cruise and I can confirm that the food was fantastic. (what I got of it...lol). Really enjoyed my 3 dinners in the MDR! Also the 70's show was the best entertainment I have EVER seen on a cruiseship during my 10 or so cruises I have taken.

Nancy, Hope you have a wonderful cruise. I am sorry I haven't been on lately. Hope Bermuda was fun! We followed you to Bahamas, but unfortunately I didn't wear all my fun outfits. One outfit I was glad to have close was my life vest when that FIRE alarm was called!!! So scary! We did book Dec. on the Grandeur since RCL was so good us all!

I agree with the confidence factor in what you wear on cruises:)

The days I stay home, makeup and hair styling aren't part of the routine...and I'm pretty scary without both of those things;)!

SO - tomorrow is my morning to go out for groceries, stop at a couple shops and have My Usual at Starbucks.

And then: Try Ons and a photo session. Weather should be warmer (anything above 50 is acceptable) and if the sun is shining, photos will be outdoors:cool:.

Wow! Looks like the concensus is makeup isn't needed during workouts:). My bare-faced look is like Froufie's: a bit scary as I get older. A little makeup makes me feel better. But I agree, a full cosmetics regime isn't necessary at the gym.

I'll post tomorrow after my shopping day:cool::).

Just putting on some tinted moisturizer..Garnier BB Cream makes me feel a bit better!

plank: Good to see your post! Hoping we can cruise together again. We would love to do the Southern Caribbean, but DH's schedule hasn't cooperated:(. What ship were you on?

We did a 11 day on the NCL SUN...Southern Carib. Nice itinerary and lots of sea days too. Small ship but such nice people and the crew was great. Doing it again in Jan. for 12 days...they added an island. Come join us!!! Doing a 7 day out of Baltimore to Bahamas in May just to get away before family vacations start:)

Still enjoying looking at all the fashion. Enjoyed our Feb. 11 day Southern Carib. getting ready for a nice 7 day out of Baltimore in May. Lots of ideas here.

Yes, as long as you are Diamond level or above in Crown & Anchor, and it's during the nightly cocktail hour from about 5pm to 8:30pm.

You would have to get your drinks from the bar server in the DL for them to be complimentary.

So if the bar server gets our martinis they are complimentary in the DL?

Do you pay for drinks like martinis in the diamond lounge if you have to get them from the South Seas bar?

wrcjr98: We cruised on Explorer of the Seas (that was our 4th time and we're booked for February 2014...and will probably sign up for this December - same itinerary as December 2012).

The boat in the black and white photo is in St Maarten. We took a Sea and See excursion and it was delightful:cool:. First part was on a bus through the island that took us to this boat (a double-decker with all the FREE rum punch you care to drink...at 9:30 AM:eek: plus a very entertaining singer/tour guide.)

Last part of the excursion was back on the same bus. We stopped for an hour in Marigot. It was a Sunday so shops were closed. Other days, this part of the tour would be longer.

boopsahoy: The black shorts really are kind of dressy. The fabric is smooth and shiny. I plan to take that outfit on The Next Cruise.

Photo Alert in the Next Couple Weeks: There are several outfits in the Cruise Closet that I consider questionable: Age appropriate? Too blah? Not flattering? Etc....

I'm going to put on those outfits and then post photos for all of you to critique. This is the best place to get truthful and constructive comments...hope to start next week...

When a photographer is in the dining room, it never fails that he/she wants a picture just as our hot entree is placed! DH & I usually clink wine glasses and try to say "Cheese" (why cheese??) as quickly as possible.

The posed photos for formal night are usually the best. This time we might do a couple casual poses...and maybe even agree to stand with a pirate or "dolphin" when we step off the gangplank at a port:cool:.

Hi Nancy, Our best pics have been casual pics on the white background. Last 2 cruises we got down on the floor and acted silly, but we got so many good pics! Love them!!!

Nancy...sounded like a good time. I am with you. I can't get in my spare room until after the holidays , but I am anxious to get started. We had a great time on our cruise, especially loved the diamond nightly fun up in the lounge. A bit different...much more casual than others we have done overall. Don't worry we still stuck to our guns and enjoyed wearing CCF clothes. Looking forward to 11 days in Feb.:) with the wild and crazy older folk!!!

Welcome back Nancy!! Hope you had a great cruise. We really enjoyed our after Thanksgiving cruise. Not as warm on sail away in Baltimore, but still enjoyed:) Looking forward to February now:-) Just found out today that we have a new granddaughter coming the end of April and we are very excited!!! Our grandson is all about his new baby sister:)

Nancy- I didn't take a pic of my short purple dress or my new one from Charlotte Russe because I did not have hair or make up on, but I showed them to my hubby and he approved along with tights. He especially gave me the look of approval on the new dress!I am happy! Packing done except for lil last minute things. Now for Turkey Time!

Next week at this time we will be sailing out to sea from Baltimore...I am so ready!!!!

plank: Catalogs and magazines are showing more colored pantyhose/tights with dresses and skirts. Some are textured, some not. I really like the trend:). Shoes (heels particularly) fit better with a little fabric between feet and leather. And I think it's totally appropriate for middle-aged CCFs.

...I'm going to try on my 2 formal night dresses (both black with a print) with black pantyhose that have been in the drawer for a couple years - maybe I'll join you in this trend!

Hey Nancy, I am hoping for a good pic on our "after Thanksgiving" cruise for Christmas cards:) Gotta come back and get on the ball.

I actually bought some black patent leather wedges today...no toes showing on these. I have a very short, cute purple dress and I needed some off black stockings and shiny shoes so my legs weren't sticking out too much! I am excited to wear it even at 60:) Will try to get a final pic tmw.

My guest room is clear until day before Thanksgiving so I am gonna start getting organized. We leave Sat. after Thanksgiving. Hope I don't see any bargains to take on Black Friday:)

My husband was so impressed when I copied Nancy's baggie idea for jewelry. I was so quick to get dressed and he loved it! I did have a spreadsheet as well, but not as cute as Nancy's:)
