  1. In March we departed from one terminal and returned to a different one. It was not an inconvenience for me.....and I believe there was a shuttle available for assistance if required. David
  2. This is a very well presented and recent video regarding the port. If you are not flying in, then just skip over the review of Terminals 1 and 2 at the airport. David
  3. Disney enforces arrival times. Those lines were due to guests arriving prior to their slots. David
  4. Thank you Zach. I'll fix it. David
  5. This is the current sign at the terminal. HAL Welcome.pdf
  6. Eurodam 10/12/2023 A - 11:00AM 54 B - 11:20AM 52 C - 11:40AM 46 D - 12:00PM 50 E - 12:20PM 48 F - 12:40PM 45 G - 01:00PM 44 H - 01:20PM 44 I - 01:40PM 47 J - 02:00PM 42 K - 02:20PM 45 L - 02:40PM 48 M - 03:00PM 47 N - 03:20PM 45 O - 03:40PM 35 P - 04:00PM 4 Not typical and I do not have any information as to why. We did have a situation today where the shore to ship's connection was being replaced on the NOORDAM. We had to do manual check-in....a time consuming and very slow process! A large crane took one of those big white dome things off of a top deck and replaced it. It took over 2 hours before our computers were back online. My only thought is that the EURODAM may be replacing something similar next week and they know that embarkation will be disrupted. That is just my hunch. David
  7. Paper passes are not required; however, as I stated previously.....it is very difficult to ascertain your boarding status when viewed on your phone. If you want to receive a very quick and easy boarding experience a paper pass is a better option for the port workers to see 4*s or 5*s. David
  8. You may well be 4* and expecting "priority" boarding; however, on some days there may be 150 5* Mariners ahead of you. That may be the message that the port employee is trying to relate to you. David
  9. Yes, Suites. For some reason I was thinking of Verandas. Thanks for correcting me! David
  10. I don't believe that Neptune Suites are provided any priority embarkation. At least my experience looking at Boarding Passes do not indicate such. As I understand.....President's Club, Pinnacle Suite(s), 4 & 5* Mariners, and Club Orange are. David
  11. It is not an issue to see Mariner Status on a printed sheet of paper. It is very difficult to see it on your personal device (cell phone). Most of the time all that is visible is the QR code (which is what is asked for) by boarding agents. My suggestions: PRINT THE PASS HIGHLIGHT YOUR MARINER STATUS TAKE IT OUT OF YOUR FOLDER/ENVELOPE/PURSE/POCKET/CARRY-ON BAG HAVE YOUR PASSPORT IN HANDY....NOT IN CHECKED LUGGAGE!!!! David
  12. February 18th....Zaandam (14 night) and Koningsdam (35 night) cruises at the same pier. I'll guess that there were 500+ 4 and 5* Mariners that day. David
  13. Hi Cruiser B. Passenger loads are part of my preparation for every sailing from San Diego. The numbers for each group are to facilitate check-in and ease congestion. You might note that they are somewhat evenly divided in 20 minute intervals. I forgot to mention that there are 91 hotel to ship and 134 airport to ship transfers sold. All of these guests will be allowed into the terminal when they arrive regardless of arrival time on their boarding passes. Then the waiting begins inside the building. You might see them get into the terminal ahead of you, but it does not necessarily mean that they will board sooner than you. Once the ship is ready to board, Groups A through whatever are called in sequence as the gangway allows for safe passage. Therefore, one could arrive at the pier at noon and not board until 2... while another could arrive at 2 and board at 2. It is the way Holland America Line rewards Mariner Club members and those who have purchased extras. David .
  14. Noordam numbers for Sunday: A - 11:00AM 135 B - 11:20AM 125 C - 11:40AM 123 D - 12:00PM 140 E - 12:20PM 147 F - 12:40PM 119 G - 01:00PM 123 H - 01:20PM 117 I - 01:40PM 117 J - 02:00PM 105 K - 02:20PM 121 L - 02:40PM 108 M - 03:00PM 110 N - 03:20PM 118 O - 03:40PM 28 Embarking 1,564 guests. No Covid questions...no VeriFly....no worries! 276 4&5 Star Mariners 18 Club Orange David
  15. I've just returned from a trip to the port. Construction continues on the south side of the terminal. As of this moment....there is only one entry/exit gate. It will be chaotic next few weeks for sure! There are thousands of square feet of the parking lot needing reinforcing steel rods and concrete. With any luck the project will be completed by Thanksgiving weekend. David
  16. Due to the "Chiapas Star" grounding at or near our dock in Mazatlan....we will instead go to Cabo San Lucas now. https://www.fleetmon.com/maritime-news/2023/42937/one-more-container-ship-capsized-port-because-ball/ Our Captain and CD Deon announced over the intercom that we will be in Cabo at noon tomorrow until 7 pm ...and then return Thursday until 2 pm. David
  17. They would be in the terminal....not onboard. David
  18. I turned my similar offer down within a millisecond. Even if offered a suite....I probably wouldn't want it. David
  19. I have been in cove balconies the past 4 cruises and have another booked in September. The only drawback might be that they take one morning of a 7 or 8 day sailing to wash the balcony off with fresh water. They give you a notice the day before. It usually takes 2-3 hours for them to work from one end of the ship to the other. David
  20. I'm sailing September 9th on the Panorama and I've been messaged that the ship will be arriving late to Long Beach......9:30 am. David
