  1. Almost always, guests from the Mexican Riviera cruise must disembark at the first US port.....which in your case is San Diego. CBP does not normally conduct clearance onboard at this port. If you are B2B, expect to spend some time in the terminal between voyages. David
  2. The Sheraton has a free airport shuttle from 4 am until 11 pm. It runs about every 15-20 minutes. Holland America has used this hotel for more than 15 years. Princess will have a transfer to/from the Diamond Princess to the Sheraton. As mentioned by others, this hotel is not convenient for public transfers; however, Uber or taxi to the SD Zoo is inexpensive and a favorite place to spend a pre-cruise day. David
  3. The light rail system is ideal, if you don't mind walking 3 or so blocks from Canada Place. David
  4. You will find many options here: https://www.portofsandiego.org/coming-and-going/parking-and-transportation/long-termcruise-parking Also, WallyPark (619) 295-2832, Laurel Airport Parking (619) 233-0412 San Diego Airport Parking (619) 291-1234 and Aladdin Airport Parking (619) 696-7275 All of these lots have free shuttles to/from the port about 1 to 1 1/2 miles away. David
  5. Believe me, I know the difference between a locked door and one that is heavy. In the event of a fire, the bridge could unlock all of the the doors. The firewall doors are locked only on one side....just like a bathroom door. David
  6. If you can reach your cabin. The doors were locked, and nobody was around to ask. That was my recent experience.....and yes platinum. No the end of the world by any means, I just went up to Serenity Deck and chilled but with my carry-on. David
  7. I asked upon boarding my last voyage on the Horizon. I was told that no matter your status, or your room (suite, etc.) rooms would not be available until 1:30 pm. The access doors were locked on Deck 2. David
  8. So do they increase the speed between ports? David
  9. Will the ship arrive on time, or an hour later due to loss of 1 hour? I currently have a departing flight at 10:45 am from MIA. David
  10. Might take me 5 or six tries on Wordle. David
  11. Once you get to LA, your "vacation" has officially started. My advice is....don't be in a rush to get to the ship. Sleep in, have time to recoup. Traffic won't be as bad on a Saturday. You will be less than 1 hour away......and the best time to arrive in Long Beach is 2 - 3 pm. Rooms on the ship aren't ready until 1:30 pm. Once onboard.....my favorite are the Serenity area (decks 12 & 14) and the aft pool area. Most of the time, luggage will be at your room before 5, so drag those things around? The porters may seem "pushy", but as far as I know.....nothing has been fished out of the harbor this year. Have a safe flight from SLC to LAX. David
  12. My question was not regarding embarkation. My cruise includes "free drinks". The option I find most helpful is to bring 2 glasses back to the room for later.......I guess I can start at breakfast......:) I will definitely look for wine packages. I like to drink after 5 pm and have dinner around 7 - 8 pm. I just don't want to sit at a bar for 2 hours if I have a veranda. Thanks to all of you. Sincerely, David
  13. If you can get by the locked fire doors. David
  14. How does NCL manage this? Do you have to pay extra if you have free drinks? Thanks. David
  15. Does anyone know when and where? Thanks. David
