  1. Our first time was 2008 Inspiration, out of Tampa. It was also our first time flying. We ate breakfast in the dining room every morning, we were on the riviera deck ocean view. I always wanted to go to the cayman island ever since I saw The Firm. I thought I was on a large ship until we docked near a larger ship in Cozumel. We were hooked. The next time we cruised we took our kids 10 and 14 my mom and brother on the glory in 2010. Relaxing way to vacation to us.

If this happens I sure hope Carnival extends the time to be able to use the FCC on a rebooking well into 2022, going to be hard to accommodate all of those of us who have cancelled or had our cruises cancelled. Would be a PR nightmare if a portion of those that had paid for cruises were never able to cruise due to lack of availability.

Me too I do hope things get better before then.

This is exactly what happened when they had to cancel the first time.

We were scheduled for the first 2 sailings from Copenhagen, and out of curiosity I was always doing mock bookings to check on the availability status.  There were many, many cabins available, but over night, the sailings were fully booked for many sailings ahead, then a few days later we got the cancellation email.

Sure hope it’s not happening again.  We took one of our 25% FCC and booked again for December.....I wonder if we will get the original FCC AND another FCC if they have to cancel the Mardi Gras again.

Yeah I’m thinking that I might have to switch ships this December. If I can’t sail the Mardi Gras I’m looking at the Breeze and Radiance

To celebrate their 50th birthday, in March of 2022, they'll have several "Sailabration" cruises. Different activities and throwback events. They're also doing four different "meetups" where multiple ships will come together out on the ocean at different points during their cruises. You can read about it here: https://www.carnival.com/carnival-sailabration-cruises.aspx

Oh wow that is going to be cool

We just got back from the Horizon on Sunday. The last one before the shut-down. I feel for those who got cancelled, but here's to hoping you get to make it up soon.

When we left, things were still relatively calm. It wasn't until about six days in that we started hearing things back in the U.S. were going crazy. Even so, the mood on board never changed. No one talked about it, except for those of us with the occasional jokes to lighten things up, and everyone went about having fun as usual. Aside from the safety measures being taken by the crew, we couldn't really tell anything unusual was going on. If our cruise had been one week later, and Carnival didn't shut down, we would've gone.

Now comes the hard part. Being on CC and reading about everyone's upcoming cruises when we don't have one scheduled. 😔 But we're looking. We're thinking about doing one of the Sailabraton cruises. 😃

    What are the sailabration cruise

  6. I have to agree I think carnival should have done more with communications if they can send out mass emails of sales they could have done the same with announcements. I don’t sail until December my son has a cruise in July. So we will see what happens. I do feel bad for individuals who went a day or so early to find out they can’t go.

Any one else refused boarding clearance? No phone call, no email, no signage. Parked at the pier of Charleston, paid for parking admitted to the operators with the ted and blue numbers, only to be told YOUR NOT BOARDING TODAY!!!!! Diabetic, heart failure, need oxygen basically are you handicapped in any way? Well today your not getting on. Here is the Carnival stamped letter head( no one in Miami headquarters is aware) but you cannot board. Speak up and you will be arrested for starting a riot. So sorry. I just took off work, drove 800 miles and my vacation is cancelled. Well there I sat dumbfounded with so many parties of more than myself and my husband. Tears, families and friends making decisions. It's okay wade go, I will come back and get you Monday. CDC did not post this, they told us they did. Anyone else????????

So sorry to hear that this happened to you. I can't remember where I read it but they did say those problems would prevent you from boarding. At first they were just saying underline health conditions and I always thought it would be good to know what they are. They should have at least sent a letter. My daughter is on that same cruise for a bachelorette  party. Did you call Carnival?

This is our plan. Wee leave next Thursday on the Sunshine. Packing extra meds, planning to enjoy our vacay!

My daughter and a group of friends are doing a bachelorette cruise but 2 girls are backing out one with a small child and the other per dr advice told not to cruise because she is in her first trimester. The rest of the young ladies plan on enjoying theirs too.
