  1. I can't even watch those customs shows on TV anymore as the morons that try to bring this crap in are so outraged that they can't get away with it. They aren't even apologetic that they have made a silly mistake, they are angry!

...sounds a lot like those who end up at the " naughty room". Hmmm sounds like a new reality show....." Rum Runners Busted" .......honey, call my agent...:D

  2. How interesting. There are plenty of idiots with no shame around.

We had sniffer dogs at Melbourne and Auckland on previous trips, so they are certainly serious about customs rules, as they should be. Some people have no idea about the safety of food industries. Bugs and other horrible things can cost industries a hell of a lot of money, and even lively hoods.

So nice to hear that someone is taking their job seriously. I agree 100 percent that food system protection is paramount and in the US we are now battling many pests that is threatening our Christmas trees and Ash trees here in Vermont to give a couple of examples. Shame on those morons who again show how selfish we have become today.

  3.

too many suite guests pitched hissy fits about the no kids allowed rule so officially Royal amended the rules. Unofficially, some concierges prefer to 'discourage' kids during cocktail hour.

we have had mixed experiences.. some kids were perfectly fine/unobtrusive and others were complete hellions.

......those who " pitched hissy fits" are paying more for those kids in cruise fare than MOST of those cubic zirconia passengers who pack the CL for " free" drinks......Any concierge who would approach a suite passenger about barring the kids would be putting his/her job in jeopardy since RCL official policy is the opposite. Kids are here...get use to it.......

  4. I don't understand why so many people love the Honey Stung Chicken. After reading about it several times on the RC threads, I was really excited about trying it. I finally did try it last week on our Navigator cruise. It was horrible. Reminded me of hospital or school food. A flat, breaded, pattie of processed meat. As I was eating some of it, all I could think about was "Are you kidding me?" Gross.........:p:p:p

It reminds me of the Grimm Fairytale " The Emperor's New Clothes"...Thanks for being that little kid......:)

  5. It is very subjective. In 2010 American Airlines canceled one of our flights and the other was 5 hours delayed due to mechanical failure. Pretty much the same happened with us this summer and it was United this time.

A few years ago we were stranded in Hawaii (I know I know BUT we HAD to get back to work ) with United. They had everything but 1 pilot. So they said we could fly out on Thursday and this was Saturday. We flew ourselves home in 30 hours with not much help from United. Horror..... We love Lufthansa for they were always very happy and professional on all our European flights. We HATE flying Noth American airlines.

  6. I was in Tunis a few years ago and did not come across any reptiles at all. We toured the Bazzar (sp?) and did not notice any. Tunis was very historic BUT you should worry about the street vendors chasing you to sell you whatever they have. Check to see if non Tunisian money is accepted for at one time US money changing hands was "illegal". With the recent turmoil I would not want to be used as an example today. Have a wonderful time and check out the Bardo museum.....a world treasure.:)

  7. Why does this thread still have legs?--Haven' we covered all of the good, the bad & the ugly side of people ideas & opinions. Can't wait till January to find out if anything will change, and then--OMG! if anything dramatic occurs.

...a lot of times "the more things change the more they stay the same"...a lot of blustering and threats but little action....
