  1. If you have your express pass, and flight details, nothing else is needed, they don’t usually post luggage tags these days, you need to print your own from your booking in My Cruises. Have a lovely cruise!
  2. Cruise black hole! Ha ha! I think you will love it. There is something wonderful and magical about waking up to the sea glistening, and being in a new place without packing, walking from dinner to show to bar to bed, and being rocked gently to sleep with a really full belly. Its bliss.
  3. We are already looking at silhouette next September 9th, med cruise, looks like a lot of lovely sea days to relax on!
  4. Totally agree about Silhouette, beautiful ship, and no flying is such a plus!
  5. Hi 👋🏻 we sailed Reflection in May, Greece Italy & Turkey cruise, 11 nights, we are old ish (50/60) and took our son and his girlfriend (23/20) and safe to say they LOVED it! Our sons girlfriend had never cruised before, and she fell in love with the ship, cocktails by the pool, silent disco, martini bar, food, seeing dolphins, all of it! Here is our short video review if it helps persuade you…warning, cruising is addictive! I can’t help you there… 🤣
  6. Hi Mark, we have sailed Royal (Anthem) and Celebrity (Silhouette/Reflection) as someone else mentioned they are comparable, there is more ‘fun’ on Anthem (Seaplex, sky diving, wall climbing, etc) but otherwise they feel very very similar. We too find food a notch up on celebrity, whereas entertainment is a notch down compared to the amazing shows on Anthem. You will probably enjoy the Martini bar on Celebrity, its a buzz in the evenings. We also enjoyed silent disco on our recent cruise. The all inclusive is so worth it, you can enjoy all the coffees, drinks, cocktails without worrying about cost. My choice of cruise is akways the longest I can take, as its just never long enough! Welcome to the boards! adding - here is our video review from Celebrity Reflection this May, we had fun!
  7. 11am is a very risky flight from FCO. Get picked up as early as possible, as I said before, the airports are crazy busy at the moment, understaffed, and slow to process anything. You may be lucky and have plenty of time, but please dont be complacent, get there as early as you can, even things like walking to your boarding gate are long at FCO. Sometimes a bus is needed to the plane. We have cruised out of Civitavecchia many times, and dont schedule anything before 1pm anymore. 11am is possible, if you are lucky with traffic, and queues, but dont coast any stage.
  8. We used Romecabs for the transfers and it was 150 euros each way. It is a lot and a long way!
  9. Ask about extend your stay, we have done this before and it worked well for us with a late flight, you pay a little extra and can stay onboard the ship longer. At the moment I would not consider anything before 1pm, as so many airlines and airports are experiencing huge issues with lack of staff which backs everything up.
  10. Lovely photos of your ports of call, but can we please see the lemon tarts too? 😊
  11. We did video supervised antigen tests, one day prior, and this worked fine for us.
  12. Its a good hour journey from Rome to Civitavecchia, we got picked up around 11am, and were on board for 12:30, after all our covid checks etc. We always use Romecabs, they are excellent.
  13. Don’t let the dessert choice put you off, this was a really fun experience and worth giving a try! We enjoyed it so much more than we thought we would.
  14. And we hope we are on the same cruise with you both again some day, it was so nice to meet you! 🥰🥰
  15. Ha ha! That would be nice…. We really had a great time. We heard the song a lot around the ship and it kind of stuck with me.
  16. Hi, we used Sicily Life for our tour in Sicily, we had a great driver. In Istanbul we used Daily Istanbul Tours, and had a private guide, it was excellent and we hihly recommend, the price was fantastic. In Ephesus we used Ephesus Port Tours, again, a great private tour. Santorini and Athens were ship tours. We went to Akrotiri in Santorini, and Oia, a great combination. Finally in Naples we used AP Tours, and went to Pompeii, then to Sorrento for pizza making and free time to shop. This was our favourite tour.
  17. Myself, my husband, our eldest son, and his girlfriend (her first cruise) safe to say she is now a confirmed cruiser!
  18. This would be quite a hike, I would probably not. We had a private tour booked with Daily Istanbul Tours, who were excellent and a great price too. If we wanted to tour alone, I would get a taxi to the Haggia Sophia area, it’s beautiful.
  19. We had an amazing time on Celebrity Reflection, 11 night med cruise to Italy, Greece and Turkey. We are calling this ‘3 minutes of happiness’ We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
  20. That’s going to be tight, I would book a private transfer as early as possible, our flight was 12:50hrs and we got an 08:00am pick up.
  21. I meant just outside the terminal exit, not the port, when we docked couple weeks ago, the ship was so close to the terminal we could see all the drivers waiting with names from the gangway, right in front of us. But, I guess it depends sometimes how many ships are in. There was no customs or immigration.
  22. And just like that I need to go on this ship….😍 Looks amazing thank you for sharing your lovely photos! Enjoy the rest of your cruise.
  23. Having just come off Reflection this ship looks very modernistic, which is great for the restaurants and shows etc, not so sure about the comfort of pool chairs, or balcony furniture compared to our loungers on Reflection (but guess that will get changed too soon) I consider myself youngish for a cruiser at 50, and would still prefer to be in the lovely velvet chairs in Cafe al Bacio than a solid looking bench type seat. Great photos though and thank you for sharing this!
