  1. If at all possible book a suite. Will provide varying levels of service depending of what suite class services you qualify for. However Grand Suites and above have access to the Suite Lounge, Coastal Kitchen, Suite Sun Deck, Free Voom wifi, and priority disembarkation which will be very beneficial for your MIL. Wishing you an awesome cruise with wonderful memories.

  2. She is no longer a ship's Loyalty Ambassador. Cindy is with the Next Cruise Sales Department and travels to different ships when not in Miami. Can't wait to run into her on a ship soon! She was and still is awesome and a true asset to RCL, imho.

Crossing my fingers I'll run into her on Allure!!

  3. I'm guessing your sister used SMS messages and your son used iMessage.

That is my guess as well. Even though your sister was also using an iPhone - if she did not have her imessage enabled it went through as an SMS message and because of this your carrier charged you.

A quick way to tell if the text is via imessage is the color of the text. If the text is blue it is imessage - all others will be green.

  4. We board Allure in exactly 3 weeks from today!! So I am loving your cruise review! We also have a 5th grade grad with us. However he is already 12 so we will get to experience the teen program for the first time [emoji16]. We will also have his 16 year old brother with us along with 17 other family members as we are celebrating my in laws' 60th anniversary!! The entire family is diamond status but will be our first voyage on oasis class. Oh - and like you we will also be hitting Sabor for our first meal. And I will be sure to frequent the Sabor bar for Tricia's excellent service!! Can you also get the guacamole from the bar as well? Thinking guacamole on the balcony would be great......

  5. Kids are allowed practically in every venue. I believe the night club venue limits access to over 18 after certain hours. As previously stated the comedy club would be restricted. Quest is an adult game show that kids are discouraged from attending. Your kids will absolutely Oasis!!

  6. I have thick shoulder length hair. I have never brought my own hair dryer. I have always had good experiences with the ships dryers. Plus it means one less thing to pack and one Jess appliance to vie for the limited electrical outlets.

  7. I sail June 19 and hoping it changes soon. Took a look at the current menus and wasn't very impressed. We are cruising with extended family and the expectation is that we all meet for dinner in the MDR each evening - so substituting the specialty restaurants isn't an option......

  8. Hi Kathy! So sad your cruise is coming to an end [emoji20]. But you've got another one booked - which definitely helps to ease your pain.

Did you notice if they rolled out the drink cards for purchase at any time during the cruise?

Also any talk of the new MDR menus that are rumored to be implemented in June?

Thanks! - Haleybailey01 (since my periscope and cc screen names don't match [emoji16])

  9. Are these menus for the MDR in every RCL ship for 2016? Or do different ships have different MDR menus. I thought I saw somewhere that RCL was changing all the menus (May 2016?) for all their ships. Does anyone know?

Over the past few weeks a few recent cruisers have reported that new MDR menus would be introduced in June.

    We shall see.......

Sailing Allure June 19. Would love to see some new menus - especially if they brought back the Scallop Risotto....Mmmmm

  10. Cruised Radiance to Alaska in 2009. Loved every minute of it. Would not go to Alaska without a balcony. The scenery is amazing. Weather can vary widely on the cruise. We had days with highs of 80 degrees and days with highs in the upper 40s. Used the balcony in all weather - just used more layers on some days.

  11. We purchased the Soda package for my 16 year old son. Mainly because he will be spending all his time on the sports court playing basketball and I want him to stay hydrated. The kid will not drink any type of soda - but the freestyle machines dispense Power-Aid, lemonade and many varieties of flavored dasani water. He also loves frozen virgin daiquiris - but will not drink more than 2 a day - typically by the pool or with dinner.
