It won't solve all you problems but if you see taking hair straighteners with you they can be helpful. I use them to "iron" my husbands shirt collars and the edges of skirts or sleeves etc. They aren't on the banned list and can just spruce things up a bit
Glad to see I'm not the only one who has used this trick!!

Thanks for the review! How old are your boys. We are cruising the Allure with a 16 and 12,year old. I know my 16 y.o. Will be fine - as he will simply park himself on the sports court and play pick up basketball all day. It's my 12 year old that I worry about. I know that he will feel awkward in the teen program as well.
Excellent tip on having a way of identifying the soda cup!!
How was it keeping track of them in the Oasis. I really don't want to fork out for the wifi - but I know that texting will be the best way to keep up with them as the ship is so much larger than what we're used to cruising. And this is the first cruise they are likely going to be exploring the ship a bit on their own.

In try to avoid ironing at all costs! But in a pinch - especially if I have a wayward shirt collar or a hem sticking up I will "iron" the offending garment with my flat iron.....

New Menus?!! Please pump Frank for as many details as possible!!
I won't miss the duck - but I'm crossing my fingers that they bring back the scallops and risotto. Was always my favorite dish and I was majorly disappointed when they took it off the MDR menu.

When are you sailing Allure? I also have a sheltered, well behaved 12 year old boy sailing with us. We set sail June 19!

MTSUBLUERAIDER
Thanks for your review! Freedom is currently my favorite ship - however that may change in June as we are cruising the Allure.
I am enjoying the review very much and brings back memories of when we cruised when our boys were still toddlers. Lots of work - but lots of fun!!
Just wanted to say congrats on the Raiders great showing in the Tournament! I'm originally from Tennessee and though I didn't go to MTSU (Murray State Grad here) I had lots of classmates that attended there and my Mom received her Master's degree from there - so I still lay some claim to the school :-)

There are a lot listed online for Oasis and Allure.
Where did you see this list?

I actually did my first scope tonight, as a test run. I have never done it before, so to get the understanding, of how it works.

I caught your scope Kat - though not live. Great job for your first try. I am looking forward to following along with you in May - as I will be suffering cruise withdrawal when Andrew debarks ship this weekend.

I can't start a cruise without a BBC. Hope they reconsider their decision not to carry the ingredients.
A cc member that is currently on the Allure just verified that that they were making BBC's on the Allure today.
This made me very happy as I'm sailing on the Allure in June. [emoji4]

Someone on the Allure this week posted that there was an "ice cream bar" - basically a make your own sundae bar each night at dinner at the Windjammer. Open till 8pm - so if you have an early evening craving for ice cream - sounds like a great option :-)

Chocolate covered strawberries and champagne delivered for sail away.
Splurge on a suite if that's not something you would normally do. The suite perks will help make the trip more special.
Order flowers to be delivered to the cabin. With any luck they will be in the cabin waiting for her upon arrival.

Can you confirm that they still serve the BBC drink on the Allure?
Someone posted today that they did not have them recently on the Freedom and I had a mild panic attack [emoji15].

The one drink I see mentioned quite frequently on questions like this is BBC Bailey's Banana Colada which is no longer available on Freedom of the Seas - at least it wasn't last month. I asked at several bars and they told me they no longer carry the banana puree that is needed to make it. Guess they can't throw a banana in the blender :p
What?!! No BBC? [emoji15] I'm heartbroken!! [emoji174] Praying that it will be available on the Allure in June!

You're very welcome, I hope the info helps your decision.
It absolutely did.
With all the Gatorade, water, and lemonade selections the package is worth it and my boys will be well hydrated!! [emoji4]

Thanks for all the wonderful scopes today. Labadee is my favorite port and I always enjoy seeing it!
Quick question for you - or for anyone else following along who may be able to answer:
What beverages are included in the freestyle machines? I am contemplating whether I should purchase the royal refreshment package for my 2 sons ages 12 & 16.
Neither of them will drink any type of soda - is there any other non carbonated beverages provided through the freestyle?
My oldest will spend most all his time on the sports court and will be seeking out fluids fairly often. His drink of choice is water and Powerade/Gatorade. Would these be available through freestyle?
Thanks!!

Both DD and Traditional Dining have their bonuses. Times when just my husband and I are cruising I think DD would be fine. However many times we travel as an extended family - such as this year when we have a group of 21 family members traveling together for a 60th anniversary celebration. In this instance we really need Traditional Dining. This allows us all the opportunity to go our separate ways during the day knowing exactly when and where we will all meet up for dinner. I can't imagine attempting to coordinate DD reservations for a group of 21!!

I'm staying onboard (virtually at least) with you this week!!
Excited for the western itinerary as that is our Allure itinerary in June.
Very interested in Falmouth - as we have not been there previously. Also looking forward in getting a first hand look at Labadee. Have been there many times but none since they built the new pier. Thrilled for no more long tinder lines - but bummed that they sacrificed my go to beach to build the new pier.....

We are booked on the Allure for May, Oasis for July, Anthem for November, and Harmony for December.
The only one of the above cruises that we are able to book CK on line is the Anthem. We were on the Oasis in February and booked CK on boarding day.
Just another inconsistency in the fleet.
Apparently it's an Anthem thing. Gotta love Royal and their inconsistencies.
No biggie for me - will simply hit up the concierge when we arrive.

When I made the reference to a cabin crawl I was only thinking about my own cabin, in a virtual tour on periscope. I could go and try to break into those two cabins right now, but I don't think I want to end up in the brig.
However, we have stayed in a Junior suite on Allure and I do have photos at home that I could post when we return. If you have an interest in this let me know. I believe we were even on the 10th floor but I don't think they were the cabin you are interest in.

Lol - no, don't get thrown in the brig! My line of reasoning was since you were on a b2b you might conveniently find them open.
Thanks for the photo offers. We've stayed in jr suites several times before - just not on the oasis class. I've seen several photos online - so no real need to dig yours up. I know you've got better ways to fiend your time!

Interesting. I am in a JS on the Allure June 19 sailing and as of a few hours ago am unable to reserve CK on the cruise planner.

Yes! A cabin crawl would be great! Would love to see a Jr Suite please. Cabin 10230 or 10232 would be great!!! (I have a vested interest in these particular cabins.....)

MDR Menu's for the Adventure
in Royal Caribbean International
Posted
Word on the street is that a fleet wide MDR menu change is imminent So you might want to wait a month or two for that. Which is hard I know - as I am a mega planner as well......
