  1. Thanks again! So into which of the holes would I insert the lamp plug with the European prongs?
  2. Bummer indeed! Thanks for checking. I already have a regular non-surge protected multi-plug extension with USB outlets for the desk outlets, so I can just buy some simple adapters on Amazon.
  3. Are you saying that you can insert an additional European plug as well as the American plug into your European adapter? I’ve been looking for something that would enable me to not have to unplug the lamp.
  4. Thanks! Astro Flyer posted a photo in the reply before yours. It looks like there’s another outlet next to the one that the lamp is plugged into that could accept another European plug (or an adapter in my case) inserted sideways so that I wouldn’t have to unplug the lamp. Is that accurate?
  5. Does anyone have a photo of this outlet and if so, could you post it? I’m hoping to plug my CPAP machine into it and was curious as to how accessible it is. (And I do know that my cabin steward will provide an extension cord, but I’m hoping to avoid tripping over one.)
  6. I don’t think that their credit was obtained under The Love Boat Sale, so it’s still unclear whether or not the same terms apply. We need to hear from those who specifically booked with that sale and whose cruises occur after January 1st.
  7. I booked my upcoming cruise for next month under The Love Boat Sale, which I assume is what's being discussed here. Even though my PVP said that it's for shore excursions only, I'm also wondering about this. I have one excursion booked, but would love to be able to use the remainder for other onboard purposes. I do recall that it specifically said that it can't be used in the casino or in stores on land, but it didn't specify that it couldn't be used on anything else. I would love updates from anyone cruising after year-end.
  8. I was looking at the Journey View activities that have been posted so far for my Discovery cruise on January 14th and noticed that the first day Medallion introduction will be conducted by cruise director Corinne. I assume that DuVal will be on vacation. Is this the same Corinne listed as the cruise director on the Royal? And is she good? (Yes, I know that the cruise director won’t make or break my cruise, but I was just curious.)
  9. Did that originate with the Red Sox at Fenway? And I agree — So bad, so bad, so bad!
  10. Just chiming in to mention that both my Princess Cruise Vacation Planner and the Princess Chat person that I communicated with today informed me that the $100/person shore excursion credit could be used ONLY for shore excursions. This is under The Love Boat Sale. I don’t know if any of you are referring to shore excursion credits offered under something else.
  11. In case it wasn't clear from my original post, I'm looking for feedback from people with first-hand experience -- Those who have either actually stayed in one of these cabins, or know someone who has stayed in one and has reported his/her experience back to them.
  12. I'm looking for first-hand experience. I've been eyeing a cruise for this January on the Discovery. I noticed that L301 and L302, which have angled balconies, were both available when everything else in that mid-forward section was sold. Have any of you stayed in either one of those cabins on any Royal-class ships? Was it extra noisy since the location is right near the open deck? Were you disturbed by foot traffic from the nearby elevators? I do like the idea of the close proximity to the Lido Buffet. Thanks in advance! 😃
  13. Depends on what you're looking for. More activity and entertainment options? Definitely Princess. Slightly better food? Holland America, although the general availability is better on Princess if that's important. Normally I would say that you would have a much older crowd on HAL, but it might lean a little younger given that it's a weeklong itinerary between Christmas and New Year's and there might be more young families onboard. I've done eight cruises on HAL and finally moved over to Princess because I was just so bored on HAL, especially during the day.
  14. I was just curious as to how someone who is obviously not well-off (meaning me) would be regarded on a luxury cruise line (such as Regent, Silverseas or Seabourn)? I'm neat and presentable (even though I'm way too "fluffy"), but any jewelry I have is costume, my clothes and accessories aren't designer (far from it) and I'm sure would be spotted as such by those in the know. Would I be scorned by other passengers? Am I overthinking this too much and would I just be wise to grab something if it looks too good to pass up? I don't have any plans for the near future, but was wondering in general.
