  1. I loved LFK. Lots of animals to see and pet. Monkeys to hold, a jaguar you can swim with for an additional fee unless that changed. I went a few years ago, and they were supposed to be expanding to even have lodging on the island in the future. They even had horseback riding thru the water, tho it was only led around but still fun if you've never been on horseback while it was swimming. The food was fantastic too!

  2. We're doing the Extreme tour, that includes the Lagoon and the Ruins. It only says you get use of the kayaks for this excursions so I'm sure there's no kayak tour. Do you know off hand or noticed if those with the shorter part of the trip there were able to kayak beyond just the main beach area to explore the way you went? Or would there not be enough time?

  3. Actually I was reading thru the promo rules, the two per person was the old. There was an updated one I thought I had read, that I bet came around with new 3rd/4th free promos that started since the UPD isn't included for them. Said one drink per order.

Tho now when I try to search, that may be the rules just for the Sky I see. So ignore if it's not true :)

  4. I've always pre tipped before we left on the cruise, less surprise added to the expense later when I'm tallying up things. DO research your port forums. Great way to research excursions and preplan. My worst experiences are just stopping in someplace and wishing I knew which direction I wanted to head.. you only get so many hours to spend there!

  5. The trapeze one I think was Breezes resort. I did some research on things to do but we were short funds so couldn't book the excursions that time around. The Breezes sounded really cool. We also looked into seeing some of the beaches/caves via Calabash from other reviews I saw if you search that in the Bahamas forum, they had some great descriptions of what they did. One of the beaches they took you on was from the Pirates of the Caribbean movie!

  6. Thanks for this thread! Convinced me to book Maya Chan so the wife and I can relax on our solo vacation in February. Not huge swimming people, so seaweed isn't an issue for us. Mark with Maya Chan was very easy to get a hold of via email and put us on the books. Now to find something adventurous to do in Roatan, to counteract the relaxation here...

Little French Key was my fav there!

  7. I've almost always cruised inside. The two times I've gotten an OV was when I got an uber discount cause of where I worked or when the price wasn't much more than an inside. I've never gotten balcony, tho if I had a significant other and we wanted a romantic place to sit away from everyone I might. We always leave the TV on the outside cam at night, so it's just like a window in a way.

  8. They still advertise it under activities for Jade tho. They should take it off their website if they're not going to officially do it anymore. Do they still do the White Hot Parties I saw listed there? I told my friends to pack appropriate clothing but pointless if they're not doing it...

  9. Also depends on what ship you go on. We could barely break even, don't really drink enough. But we decided to do the drink package on the Sunshine due to them having EVERY bar the cruise line has with all the drink options available just about. So we got to try sooo many things without an added cost which made up for it, like the Shake Spot I think its called. Even got soda cans to try from Mexico :)

  10. I've never booked with an agent before, but I'm really into researching things (prices, extras included, etc..) and I always book directly thru the cruise line. I've heard from other reviews they sometimes have issues since they can't speak directly to the cruise line once they've booked thru an agent. But if you find a good agent that can get you a good deal (via rooms they've prepurchased or other gifts they've decided to include) I'd say go for it.

We always book last minute tho too and I feel that I might have a harder chance at a great deal going thru an agent that way. You may speak to an agent you feel comfortable with and compare what they offer with what you could do on your own? And see what works best that way? :)

  11. Thanks so much! I had been checking some menu's and Yaya's had a lobster meal that sounded good. Though I dunno if it would be like the yummy one I got from Little French Key in Roaton, of course it may have been so good cause of all the liquor I had in me then too LOL.

  12. My party is still debating where to go. Thinking just for the freedom to change up location if we get bored it'll either be Yaya's or Blue Kay instead of Maya Chan.

The wooden loungers are really the only negative I see to Blue Kay. Tho a really easy fix for that is those nice roll up beach mats you can buy (got one for like $15 at Ross), its padded and comes with a pillow!

Also that their site doesn't put the fees in US, so confusing.. just concerned about that, plus that another reviewer mentioned they changed prices up on them (charged more than it should have been)? Anyone else had this issue? Anyone happen to have a photo of the US price menu or an easy way to know what prices are if reading the Mexican one?

  13. I tried browsing thru the ports forums but wasn't able to fully find the answers I was looking for. My parents are cruising on a 10 day NCL Jade in Jan 2016 to Key West, Tortola, St. Johns, St. Maarten and San Juan. This is my dads second cruise since he's become disabled from M.S. and needs to be able to stay in his scooter or a wheelchair. Last time he just stayed on the ship and mom went around the ports. But I'd really like for him to get a bit more out of cruising (all he does around the house is sit in chairs in different rooms too).

If anyone could recommend some fully accessible things for them to do at some of these ports I'd appreciate it. Mom thinks she found something at San Juan thru the cruise line, and I just found this company called Accessible Island Tours for St. Thomas I'm going to have her contact.

Thank you so much for your help!

  14. Just to update incase anyone is interested, ended up booking a NCL cruise. Would have loved to do the week long that was a great deal, but decided saving a lil money this year would be better. Doing a 4 day cruise to Costa Maya. Was able to book it with just the $50 deposit deal x2. Gives us a month to get it paid off :)

Also love the free extras they included. Found out something interested while trying to book. Couldn't get into the cheaper interior room for some issue booking online so tried the obstructed OV... actually was able to get TWO free deals with that and it ended up being cheaper pp than an interior would have been! So excited with that deal.
