  1. Happened to me as well over a year ago. Thankfully it didn’t take long for them to recover everything including the flights. And it was all for naught as Princess ultimately cancelled the cruise.
  2. A travel agent would know. It’s not something that we can do for ourselves through the Princess website. Well actually we had figured out a workaround by launching from a Princess Players Club website which applied the discounts but that seems to not be functioning right now.
  3. I believe all it takes is inputting the word CASINO in a field in the booking engine to trigger the discount so the chat person should be able to handle that. My TA books the discounted ones for us (or I have done it online and transferred them to her - now questionable due to your post) and it only takes her seconds to do it.
  4. Wow. Is Princess able to fix this or do you need to cancel and rebook? I usually have my TA book the discounted cruises for me but did book it myself once and I transferred it to her. It worked like a champ then but it's sad to know that it's broken now. Hope you can get the right fare on your bookings.
  5. I've heard of reservations getting cancelled when air is added and the Princess systems treat the lack of the casino payment as a reason for cancellation (actually experienced that one) but this is the first time I've heard of the casino actually missing final payment. The casino is supposed to pay for our cruise by July 10th. Will keep my fingers crossed that will actually happen. And I agree that you should stay on the phone until someone resolves this for you. It's unacceptable that they would just say you'll get a call back and then no one responds. ETA: Curious about the following: How did you find out that they hadn't paid? Did you get a cancellation notice? Is your booking number still active? And when did your booking confirmation indicate that they should have paid by?
  6. I don't know if Collin is still in the same job at Princess. Elliott.org has finally changed the contacts to those below. Note that if you send anything to John Padgett, I'd also send it using "@princesscruises.com" as the "@princess.com" domain is accurate.
  7. We knew our's was an issue. There was occasional delayed flushing and the steward was going to have a plumber take a look at it. That has happened to us before on cruises so we weren't very concerned. Late that night it stopped flushing and would only fill with water. We knew enough not to keep pushing the button as it would have overflowed. Anyway I went down to Passenger Service at 3 AM (they said I should have called). They had a plumber come immediately to replace a part. No problems for the rest of the trip.
  8. We were on the ship in May. Our expectations were low but the food exceeded our expectations. Staff was fantastic. We did have an issue with our toilet but that was fixed before it became an issue. It's old and rusty in spots but none of that affected our enjoyment on our cruise. YMMV!
  9. It is my understanding that the Majestic went to Haines this week and were able to ferry guests to Skagway for their excursions. The Discovery went to Icy Strait. Haven’t seen any update yet and they may not know until they are onboard where they are going.
  10. Our last two came from California but earlier ones came from different places. I just received an email today that our Medallions had been shipped for our July 17 cruise. It's in "pre-shipment" status from the USPS and until the post office receives it I won't be able to tell where it's being shipped from. The one for our cruise last February went from California to the east coast then back to Arizona. The last one in May took a more direct route. Will see what happens this time but we do have time!
  11. I went to one a few years ago. It used to be that folks who won the $20 slot tournaments that used to be held on every cruise were invited to a big tournament every year. I think they also invited some of the "high rollers" too but I got in because I won one of the tournaments. For the big tourney, they assigned people times to play the first round. You beat the heck our of the buttons and the scores were recorded with the highest scores qualifying for the next round. I had a terrible machine and so after my three minutes I was done. That machine didn't do well for anyone and was very tight but it's all luck. I'm fairly certain that the top 5 won money, with the highest scorer winning $35,000. Not sure if this is how they will do these but here's more verbiage from the email, and you can probably call to find out the rest of the details of your offer: "What's better than the sound of a winning pull in our friendliest casino at sea? How about big plays and unforgettable moments. Anytime from fall 2022 to spring 2023, choose to join six slot tournaments with prizes totaling $25,000 each cruise or compete for a share of $100,000 on our grand prize tournament cruise — exploring the Panama Canal, the Caribbean and the Mexican Riviera as you play for a share of the $250,000 pot."
  12. Makes sense as they were also scheduled for the forward dock with 3 other ships in port. Ditto the Royal so I'm expecting that we will hear news that they aren't going to Skagway this week either.
  13. It could be the slot or blackjack tournament so it’s for specific dates. According to the email I received , there are 7 cruises with the slot tournaments and those must be booked by July 27. There are 2 cruises with the blackjack tournaments and that also has a book by date of July 27.
  14. I was referencing what the VIP designation meant. Invitations to the VIP events can be made with a free or discounted cabin. This is what our free play looks like for a free cruise that doesn't have a VIP event happening: And this is what it looked like for our last cruise (and one on the Majestic last August) which had a VIP event happening onboard. These cruises were both discounted: I still believe that the OP has free play on a discounted cruise on which a VIP event is being held. By the way, it's been my experience that if I pay a discounted rate, the free play is higher and if I sail in a free cabin, the free play is lower.
  15. Which dates? We are on the July 17th sailing and haven't heard anything yet. The Discovery is scheduled to be at the forward dock which is the one that is out of commission at the moment. So unless the dock situation is resolved soon or if not, they aren't able to figure out an alternative for us, we may face cancellation of the Skagway port stop. Have been there 7 times but I would definitely miss it.
  16. I just saw a report of a rock slide that happened this morning at the Railway Dock in Skagway. I saw pictures of huge boulders next to the ship but no information about any injuries or damage to the ship. Sure hope that's because there weren't any. Hoping someone onboard can provide an update.
