Thanks for our Thursday Daily, Rich. Nice collection of days. We should all celebrate Social Media Day as without Social Media we wouldn’t have Cruise Critic and our wonderful family here on it. Love the quote and I do enjoy an occasional mojito - very refreshing ! Busy day today - have to get out to get some food (bread is no good after more days away than I had planned 😉) and have to get the old phone off before Apple charges me for the replacement 😉. And then the gardens and spread sheets await me. Hopefully, I have enough energy for it all after the previous 40 hours 😬 As you can tell by the pics, my peonies bloomed while I was away. One is really weighted down so I’ll see if I can fix it now. Hoping @rafinmdhas a smooth embarkation. Bon Voyage, Roy ! I better head out to try to beat the crowds. Poor Jaguar and poor you 😢 You did what was right for Jaguar - it takes a special strength and is very painful 💔 Jaguar will always be with you ♥️ I had a couple of carry on’s - one very small and one true carry on size but on the way up, I expanded it and had to check it as it had lobster, jam and jellies in it. Not allowed in carry on (jams are considered liquids and lobster that is shelled is considered caustic) I forgot that the stuff I packed them in to prevent breakage and keep the lobster cold would take up room and need to come home. LOL. They were worth it though as the lobster arrived safe and the jams were fine - nothing broken 👍 When they changed my plane last night to the puddle hopper and told me that there would be no sky jet to place a bag on, I decided to check the one that had nothing valuable in it. It actually turned out to be a good choice. Long walk to the shuttle bus stop and much easier with one less bag to manage and one less bag to manage when you are in the lounge. I have no partner now to watch the bags while I go to grab something for us. Nexus should get you priority security in most airports, Ann - it was definitely there in Pearson.

I like this quote but I’m glad I saw it now when I am home instead of at the zoo (aka Toronto airport). Prayers for a successful surgery 🙏🏻 In November this year? We arrive on the Oosterdam. But I do arrive in Rotterdam next year on the N Statendam - assuming I get the nerve to fly again 😉 and, wonder of wonders, miracle of miracles…I am home and so is my bag (surprisingly enough). My sweet neighbour was there waiting for me. She wasn’t having me take a dirty cab home after the ordeal for the last 40 + hours. For anyone flying, I recommend biz class - or any class that gets you priority security clearance. That was one of my saving graces going through twice. I normally avoid T.O. Like the plague for connections but since my friends and family live there / near there - it was not an option to skip this time.

And delayed. Maintenance problem, supposedly. Same thing that delayed leaving on Friday.

Thanks for the Hump Day Daily, Rich. I like the combination of days and the quote. That expresso martini sounds good. I think I am going to need one at the end of this 😉 And it really is a Hump Day - like get over the hump to get home 😂 I think 1/2 of the last 24 hours will have been spent at the airport and (with luck) finally in the air. And, I am getting creative. My boarding pass didn’t open the priority security gate for me so I used last night’s and “open sesame’. No way was getting in that 2 mile line up unless I had to. OMG. As one lady said to me - if you have time to spare - go by air. I thought that was the best I have heard so far (but remember I am sleep deprived). With covid, if you want to order in the lounge you need to scan to your phone. Same for the elevator to get to the lounge. Well, we all know kazu doesn’t have one on her - I’ve had two gentlemen come to my rescue so far (without asking). Canadians truly can be very nice and kind ♥️ Now to hope for my flight, that it’s on time and the little bag I checked last night gets on this plane. that’s an awful lot to hope for isn’t it? I think you have it Roy. I’ll be shocked if it leaves on time. But you need to be here very early to get through the security kerfluffle.

You think 3 hours will do? I have to be there 3 hours before for the flight i know has been delayed 2 hours every day so far 😡 Same plane I needed go get here and of course, I am so tired now it will be tough to sleep. Hotel is decent though. It is just too much.

That’s not a normal time for arrival at our Mickey Mouse airport and it is pretty much shut down. Hopefully I can get a cab at at that time. Guess I will find out. The picture is getting greyer and greyer and I am betting the flight gets cancelled. I guess, we’ll see. I have enough in my carry on to get me through the night. I am not imposing on my friends at 11 pm to come get me.They have done more than enough. We’ll see I guess.

I like 👍 👍 I’m sitting at Pearson. Flight has been changed twice since I got here. Now I get on at 2 AM. I am betting dollars to donuts it doesn’t go. Story tomorrow at 11. It gets more and more interesting - LOL

Hope your flight goes ok, Ann 🤞 My flight here was changed twice and then delayed twice but it went 👍 A/C said it was a crew problem (and gave the example of crew working too many hours). I did get tomorrow’s morning flight booked if need be to be on the safe side. I won’t do check in until I know if this flight goes or not. It’s flex air so I can cancel. Tonight is bad enough so……hopefully

Will probably depend on what they have at the airport IF this flight is not cancelled. Yup yesterday’s flight was cancelled, no replacement so I am still in Ontario. My poor plants. I knew they should be ok until this morning but not sure about tomorrow 😡 Stressed to the nine’s last night as I tried reaching the airline. Trying to book a back up flight for early tomorrow morning in case this one is cancelled again. But, the website is down. Sheesh. @mamaofamivery glad to hear Sam is getting out 👍 Good luck with your test 🍀 To try to put a bit of cheer in my post - here is some food porn from Sunday night. We had a charcuterie board and sushi which I forgot to take a pic of and then salad with pecans (very good) Jane and I did the skewers and John cooked a fantastic tenderloin. Delicious bread and baked potato with all the toppings. Then of course, we had a birthday cake for my sister. She showed us a covid trick she had learned from a nurse friend. Completely agree - prices have really gone up so one has to plan based on what they have. I have flown out of Schipol B.C. (Before covid) and there was a huge difference if you were biz class. Their lounges are lovely too 😉 Biz class does have a separate line. i realize things are a mess right now, but with the easing of covid testing I think (hope) that will make a huge difference for you - especially being biz class. I sure hope it does for me tomorrow at Pearson (which is also a mess) 😉

Thank for our Daily, Rich and a happy Sunday to all of you from Brampton, Ontario. I am just sitting outside in my little Oasis (I rise earlier than my hosts). I slept in late yesterday even with the time change - probably a bit stressed and emotional? These two are the views from where I am sitting. Jane’s climbing rose bush is gorgeous It’s much hotter here and they are calling for T-storms today when we are expecting guests. No matter - we’ll be outside and well protected 😉 They are like me - like to be outside - more room than in the house and much prettier 😉 For Captain DD fans - here is a pic of when we got our silver medals on the Prinsendam. Jane & John and I were on our first cruise together and have stayed friends all these years ♥️ Our captain was very kind doing our pics individually as usual and then called us back up for a special picture of the 4 of us (still in the folder) and one of Jane & I. My good friends Georgina and Gerry are coming today. Georgina & I at the Meet & Greet: Along with my sister and her husband. If it doesn’t rain there might be some swimming or hot tub involved.
