1. Don't forget to pack something white for White night. This is an on-deck party night, with a buffet/BBQ served by some of the officers where you are encouraged to wear white. I usually wear a white top and beige/cream trousers and my DH wears a white shirt and cream trousers. You don't have to wear white, but most people do. It's a really fun night. The MDR is open so you can dine there and join the party after dinner.

You will love Azamara I'm sure. The atmosphere is like a big family party - the whole staff and crew are so friendly and obliging.

We will shortly be doing our third Azamara cruise and have our fourth booked for next year.

  2. Think you're doing the cruise after us. On the Azamara web-site it says Ocean Terminal for Hong Kong, and when I did a search of the Ocean Terminal web-site the Azamara Quest is scheduled to dock there (unlike for Singapore where the Azamara web-site shows the Marina Terminal, but the Quest shows up on the right date on the Singapore Cruise Centre web-site. Regarding Ho Chi Minh City, can't remember the name of the port, but I do know that it is the one in/near the city, not the one on the coast - the ship goes up the Snake river to get there.

Can't help you about the Azamazing evening as ours is in Bangkok - have you put this query on the roll-call for the cruise, you may get an answer from a fellow passenger.

  3. I have the link to order tags, but haven't clicked it yet as I am waiting to see if I get offered an LCV $398 upgrade. When I know whether I have an upgraded cabin or not, I will try and see what happens.

  4. We're sailing on 18 November and our link appeared a couple of days ago. The link to order labels to be sent to you is on the very first page I get when I click 'check-in online'. When I clicked on View details against 'check in summary', the page with the ticks on has another link to luggage labels which talks about printable labels.

  5. Must be favouritism again for our US friends, as I've just checked our details and there's still no option showing to order these. :(

The link to request mine for 18 November cruise only showed up a few days ago, so keep checking every day on the first check-in page. We are UK.

  6.
Not strange at all. Lottie's cruise is November 1. Mine is October 11. Your link won't appear until mid-October.
My luggage label link has popped up now!

  7.
That seems strange, I had already completed check in & printed off my tags on the last page.

Days later I went back to the start of check in & found the link to order tags in the place mentioned by Lottie.

How far away is your cruise? the link may not be there until nearer the date.
My cruise is on 18 November. If yours is sooner it may be because mine is too far away, otherwise it's very strange!

  8.
Jem 12, in the UK the link to request real luggage labels is at the very bottom of the main online check in page....before you actually get to the pages where you put your details in. Hope you find it on the U.S. site.
I can't see that link at all now. Is that because I have already completed the check- in information. When I go into online checkin I get the page at the beginning before you start to enter your information, but can't see any link for luggage labels.

  9. I'm really quite concerned about this whole topic. For us one of the big benefits about Azamara is we don't need to worry about tipping. In the UK we don't really have a tipping culture as generally people serving in any capacity are paid reasonably well, unlike in some other cultures where tips are essential' is wages are so low, as I believe is the case in the USA.

If many passengers start tipping, crew will come to expect it and so we're all back feeling as if we have to tip!

  10. We have tea and fruit juice in our room every morning and don't tip. We take the view that as both tips and room service are included, we do not need to tip the server.

  11. We have done two cruises that docked in Muscat (Oman), Dubai, and Egypt (Safaga). We loved Muscat. As a woman I wore long trousers, but short sleeved tee-shirt (would definitely not been happy in a strapping top). First cruise we did a tour from Muscat that went into the countryside to a local fish-market, a fort and a stream where there were 'spa' fish - they nibbled the dead skin on your feet! Second time we went on a tour around Muscat seeing the palace, Mosque (couldn't go in because it was Friday), lovely museum and finished at the bazaar. You could get a free shuttle from the ship to the port gates then walk along the beautiful promenade up to the bazaar. It's a very nice country, very clean and tidy. Dubai was interesting - we went on the hop-on, hop-off bus booked and as an Azamara excursion. This was for the same price as if you got on the bus in town, and the bus came to the ship side. At Safaga we went on a desert safari to a little Bedouin village and had a camel ride - bit touristy, but quite interesting.

  12. I agree with Phazzcruisers. You have definitely made the right choice. The dark wood is fine, although I am looking forwards to seeing the more modern refit. But, and it's a huge but, is what makes Azamara unique is the crew and the fantastic, friendly, service ethic that every single crew member has, including the officers. The ships' ambience is all down to them, not the surroundings (although the surroundings are very nice).
