  1. Living through this review because I’m already knee-deep in PDs. 🫠
  2. They reportedly put vinegar or pickle juice (I’ve heard different reports) in it. Frog Ranch brand has a similar taste profile, but is a little chunky, so you’d have to blend it. You can get that at Walmart here in FL; not sure about TX.
  3. My household is neurospicy, so this is an immediate follow!! ❤️❤️❤️
  4. I fully realize that this is a Carnival board (hence, my answer may seem biased), but after cruising RCCL, Celebrity, Disney, and Carnival, we prefer Carnival - especially if the kids are with us. To us, the overall “included” food is better and there’s a wider variety. The kids enjoy their respective clubs. We loved going to comedy as a family, and the Dive In Movies are a family favorite. We just returned from the Celebration, and I’ll admit, the room was smaller than the usual balcony cabin, but we made it work. The shower doors were A+, and there was plenty of storage for us all. Now, DH and I really loved our Celebrity cruise, but it was also right after cruising started up, so the ship had half of the people it was supposed to. All the folks on the ship were kind and courteous to each other- definitely just happy to be there. The food was great, the Edge is a gorgeous ship, and we got to meet Captain Kate, who really is the real deal. Our daughter had sent a drawing to her, and she made a gift for us to take back to her. DH isn’t impressed by much- especially people social media- but he conceded that she was “really good people”. Our only gripe was the concept of the Infinite Veranda. That setup would be great in Alaska or somewhere cooler than the Caribbean; it was essentially a little greenhouse. RCCL - I’ve been on Oasis and Quantum. Both beautiful ships, both had lots of activities. Both had very “meh” included food to our palates. They were both nice enough, but we felt like the value wasn’t present. Also, my friend and I had an interior cabin on Oasis, and we joked that we could spoon each other from our separate beds. 🤣 Speaking of beds, Royal’s are hella uncomfortable. I’m middle aged; I wake up uncomfortable every day. But even my kids- who can sleep almost anywhere- had something negative to say about those beds. DH and I tossed and turned, even after the poor steward added a layer of bedding to our beds. Disney- one and done. Great for the kids at their ages. Food was trying too hard. Activities were top notch, especially since it was a Star Wars cruise. But now, a 7 day cruise on Disney in a balcony room would be almost 10k - and that’s with the resident discount. I’m sorry, what? I guess I can sell a kidney, but if I’m going that route, I’d rather just get a suite on one of the other cruise lines. I veered slightly into unicorn-land there, but I thought I’d toss my opinions into the ring. Cheers!
  5. Hi! I’m the mom of a kid on the spectrum. My spouse is on the spectrum. My daughter and I both have ADHD. We are a neurospicy household! My son had terrible sensory issues with food as a toddler. Feeding therapy helped greatly (not saying you haven’t or should try it- just giving background). He also can’t have gluten. CCL has always been accommodating about his allergies, and when we worried about him being able to access preferred snacks when younger, they let us bring things on as long as they were sealed. It’s been said before in the thread, but reach out to CCL - like TODAY- and discuss all this with them. I’m sure if you’re willing to bring those things onboard yourself, and they’re sealed, there will be no issue. Hope you and CCL find an equitable solution and that you and your family can have a good vacation.
  6. I’ve heard twang, I wouldn’t say “wang” anywhere I didn’t want to immediately hear folks cackle. 🤣 Totally immature person here, I get it.
  7. We just got off the Celebration. My son had GF bread every night that he said was very good (it was sliced like sandwich bread but was warm and buttered). He loved the melting cake- he had it every night.
  8. The ones on Celebration were like that. I think that’s why the life jackets were moved to muster stations; it’s clear that we had plenty of flotation devices already in the room. 😉
  9. We just got off the Celebration, and while there were a ton of kids being kids (running, being loud, etc.), I saw none of these things. They were messy in the Lido, but they’ve always been messy in the Lido.
  10. My husband travels almost 70% of the year. He told me 15000 Bonvoy points was equivalent to about 100 bucks. It feels accurate, whether or not it is…much like what I say my weight is. We spent 25000 for our room in Miami last night, which tracks with the rates I saw.
  11. I’m now sober, but I’ve never been “debate top ten zoos in the US” drunk. 😳
  12. News sources were citing border issues yesterday. Sounds like ✨Southwest Debacle, but with Tea and Scones✨.
  13. Have you had all-dressed chips/ fully-dressed chips? I forget what the proper name is (forgive me, Canadians!), but my husband brought them home years ago and they were delightful.
  14. I usually tell ‘em that we can call their meemaw on speaker in the front office and they can explain in detail why it’s such a big deal. 🤣
  15. The new dean asked about 3 dozen boys in a class what they did for fun in their spare time. Me:
  16. Spoken like a true secondary teacher. I haven’t said that number in years. Always like, “Turn to the page just before 70…”
  17. Well, then, your doctor OR your pharmacist should be able to help.
  18. Seeing as Paxlovid is only recommended for certain demographics, probably not. Could you get an rx from your doctor if you were concerned about access?
  19. We really loved Celebrity Edge, with one exception- the infinity balcony concept. It was more of a roll-down window, and in a cooler climate would have been AMAZING. In the Caribbean in July? It was too much. But the views were lovely, as was our room. The ship was wonderful- great food, great staff, beautiful art. It didn’t hurt that it was only 45% capacity back in 2021. 🤣
  20. I think you just described my mom. 🤣 We invite her to join us on cruises, and she’s always clutching her pearls. But she will sail one of the “luxury” lines. 🤷🏻‍♀️
  21. Loved your review; we were on the week before y’all, and my husband caught it. He’s still feeling a bit crummy. Hope y’all heal quickly!
  22. My husband got COVID sometime during our Quantum cruise last week. Travels every week for two years and then finally meets Miz Rona on vacay. I hope that isn’t in your cards!
  23. Arrested on the ship when ported in Alabama is the most Alabama thing ever.
